The case count for Top Picks was addressed in the past it had something to do with the size and weight of the cases for shipping. As well as the amount of product they felt would sell before the next wave if I remember correctly. So the Legends cases of five is probably for the same reason. And they all need to complete with each other for limited shelf space at the stores.

Picked up a razor Roman at target today because I really like the blue attire, unfortunately I forgot he was supposed to come with his chains and mine didn’t. What's with that anyway? I picked up 2 Razors at 2 different stores (1 was in crap condition so i grabbed a second one) and one of them has the chains, the other doesn't. Is this a running change or what?

I got my 2 razors today from target.com
They both look like sh*t so they’re going back.

I finally nailed down a Greg Valentine today. I was able to call and the person found the new box. Get ready for November...

Well the target closest to me gave me the excuse a lot of people got that they were gonna redo the toy sextion so they wouldn't put them out when I was there on release day. I go in yesterday and *nothing* has changed but I see an E77 on the pegs so I ask again and of course they put them out randomly and all of them sold in a day. Safe to say I wasn't thrilled.

I think the main reason things are starting to go this way is because of online shopping. A typical person would rather order online and have their purchase delivered to their door without having to leave their home, get into a car and drive somewhere where they will be annoyed at other people and the chance of the product not even being there. That's fine and dandy when they don't you over on your order or they sell out in minutes (not that this set did but stuff like NECA for example) then the last resort becomes going to stores and when they don't stock them cause they focus on online it's bullshit.

Drove really far to a target showing 10 in stock. Went to 9 in stock during the drive. 2 weasels and a razor on shelf. Found a guy who said sure we have another box in back. He brought it and Got a regular valentine with a messed up eyebrow and paint drip off his mouth. This was the 20th target trip this week before I got lucky even though they were listed in stock everywhere and employees being a pain.
A scalper came up next to me while I was waiting and took all 8 including duplicates of whatever those nee GI Joe figures are. He immediately laid them out on a clear shelf, photographed and posted them on ebay as I was standing there.

The 2 Razors I saw, 1 had 4 or 5 noticeable black dots all over the face & the 1 I grabbed has kind off a lazy eye look if seen close up.

As I mentioned I’ve calmed down a lot on buying Mattel figures over the last year or so. But I had this series pegged as one that I wanted. So I decided to hit it like I did when I was collecting heavy and this set has been the most annoying thing ever.
Checking daily for nothing, finally a reset and nothing, and finally yesterday I had an employee lie to my face about what they had in stock.
Am I the only one constantly confused by this nonsense with Mattel and it’s retailers? These aren’t limited edition exclusives. They’re store exclusives. They sellout immediately when they randomly choose to put them for sale. They have a street date that no store seemingly follows. Does this need to be this needlessly complicated? I could understand if I was hunting extremely limited figures or something but I’m constantly annoyed and confused by everything that happens with flashback elites.

The lack of consistency is what makes this so frustrating. There are seven Targets in my area. Two have already been through two cases, two through one case, two still haven’t put the first case on the floor, and one hasn’t even received a case.

Valentine for $60 on eBay is starting to look appealing. If its $60 for the yellow undies one, thats almost a bargain at this point.

It's a mess, and I feel like FB3 has something to do with it. With the exception of the occasional figure, the store exclusives seemed to be available in decent quantity and would move at a reasonable pace. But after the prices that FB3 was commanding, it's been scalper heaven if you aren't there within an hour of a new case being put out. The store exclusive figures haven't helped. Everybody is so panicked that a figure is going to end up being $60-100 on the secondary market, they'll pay $50 now in hopes of it not going higher. And that's just a green light for scalpers to come in and clear out any case they see. And with a lot of folks out of work, they have the time on their hands and will do anything to make a buck. It's exhausting as a collector. I'm sure somebody will chime in with some "that's the price you pay to collect!" crap. But there are a ton of Marvel Legends figures I'm interested in coming out, and they're flying off the shelves. But I can also go on my choice of websites, including Walmart, Target, and Amazon, and easily place a pre-order for them and have them at my doorstep. I firmly believe that the Mattel WWE ecosystem is broken, and it's really hurt my interest in the line over the past 1-2 years.

My closest target is like 30 min drive 1 way. I seen on popfindr they had 5 in-stock. So I said screw it, drove out there and nothing. Seen a few UE Shinsuka figures, AJ and basics. I knew the shelf hasn’t been re-stocked in a few months, so I thought they may put those out faster. Next day I checked popfindr again and it say 5 in-stock. So I figured they still ain’t out them out, so I drove out there again just to get out of the house and get there and nothing. I ask if they had them in the back, gave him the DCPI code and he kept pointing up like “their up in the shelf in the back and I won’t be able to get to them until we restock the shelves tomorrow. I can start on the boys side to get them out faster or I could hold them for you and call you whenever I can.” I told him that’s cool but no need in doing that. So I left and wasn’t gonna come back. Next day I checked anyway and all day it stayed at 5 in-stock. So I knew they didn’t re-stock when he claimed they would. The very next morning I checked again and boom, down to 2. So I figured whoever bought the set got the 3 and left a razor/heenan, so I didn’t even bother, I’ll wait on mine to ship. By time I made 3 30min trips 1 way, I could have just paid the scraper price, but I ain’t paying those losers anything. I’ll wait it out and get it for $30 later on down the road. And to target, suck it! You lazy b******s

Valentine for $60 on eBay is starting to look appealing. why not just wait the series is just coming out and paying that price is only gonna feed into the problem of people scalping these.

I firmly believe that the Mattel WWE ecosystem is broken, and it's really hurt my interest in the line over the past 1-2 years. Oddly enough you brought up a few points I didn’t even think of. Not just scalpers but new part time scalpers, or collectors scalping to pay for the figures they can’t afford to keep up with less money coming in. They also have the extra time for a side hustle now too. The only other figures I remotely collect now are NECA. Outside of Comic-Con exclusives (which luckily I haven’t needed) they’re reasonably easy to find and purchase. It’s not a slam dunk but I don’t have to drive to 5 stores repeatedly over the course of a two week time to get figures, only to not have the lucky streak and I can’t get em. I’ve been lucky with this set because I have a buddy who hunts who’s looking out for me, but I still need one and it’s the biggest need (Valentine). But as I mentioned, with all of the advantages (PopFindr, friends, this board, Twitter, etc) this shouldn’t be getting harder to do if anything.
