Interesting show. I like how you are going to determine title challengers, not so keen on the rankings never really been a fan of them. Keep the mystery by not showing it but I'm sure you'll make it work. As you noted in the show closing statement, there's a couple of challengers for each champion. Bit surprised by your first Champions. I didn't expect MASON and the Russians to win but I did expect one of them. I think you managed to keep MASON strong so am expecting a few more quick wins then a rematch with Chaz.

SFF League News Update 11/8/20 Eight nights ago, live and exclusively on DAZN, the SFF crowned the first Openweight and Tag Team Champions in Chaz Classic and the pairing of Daz and Kid Carnage, respectively. Promotion officials are working hard to determine rankings for each division going forward and trying to determine potential top contenders for each championship. At press time, either title being defended on the Christmas card looks unlikely, though Chaz Classic has expressed a willingness to defend the championship on the January 16th card, like on DAZN. Daz and Kid Carnage have opted to let the tag team scene develop a little more and it seems like it might be a little deeper into 2021 before we see the tag team champions in action again, however that could very easily change with a few potential outcomes on SFF 4.
Speaking of SFF 4, the card has been finalized for the November 21st return to DAZN! The headlining bout will see Lennox Ali and Jordan Devine, both of whom are currently 1-1, square off to determine one of the top contender spots in the Openweight ranks. In the co-main event, the Alexander brothers take on a promising new tag team in Max Blaze and Shane Hart. Also on the main card, former partners collide as Justin Luck takes on Brendan Burrows. The team of Bret Andrews and Seth Vinyard look to improve to 2-0 as they take on Donovan Kyle and the debuting Tom Sinclair. Brody Knight will headline the preliminary card in his singles debut, taking on Bastian Starke. Elsewhere on the prelims, two of Wales' top exports will make their SFF debuts as Red Dragon takes on AJ Travis and Gareth Ashdown wrestles Lucas Silva. For all of the SFF debutants, an impressive win here during the formative stages of the SFF rankings is essential because it could go a long way towards putting them near the top of the pile. Below is the full SFF on DAZN 4 card.
(credit AJ) 11/21/20, "SFF on DAZN 4: Ali vs. Devine" SFF Studios; Atlanta, GA 1.) 1 Fall; 10 Minute Time Limit: Red Dragon (0-0) vs. AJ Travis (0-1) 2.) 1 Fall; 10 Minute Time Limit: Gareth Ashdown (0-0) vs. Lucas Silva (0-2) 3.) 1 Fall; 10 Minute Time Limit: Chase Maxim (0-1) and Preston Michaels (0-1) vs. Troy Xander (0-2) and Tyler Cage (0-2) 4.) 1 Fall; 15 Minute Time Limit: Bastian Starke (0-0) vs. Brody Knight (2-1) 5.) 1 Fall; 15 Minute Time Limit: Bret Andrews (1-0) and Seth Vinyard (1-0) vs. Donovan Kyle (0-1) and Tom Sinclair (0-0) 6.) 1 Fall; 15 Minute Time Limit: Justin Luck (0-3) vs. Brendan Burrows (0-3) 7.) 1 Fall; 20 Minute Time Limit: Peter Alexander (2-1) and Theo Alexander (2-1) vs. Max Blaze (0-0) and Shane Hart (0-0) 8.) 1 Fall; 30 Minute Time Limit: Lennox Ali (1-1) vs. Jordan Devine (1-1)
But that isn't the only major SFF card announcement we have for you! SFF on DAZN 5: Black Christmas officially has a main event signed! Mike Fury and Nick Jacobs wrestled a hotly contested, hotly debated match that ended in a controversial decision on Halloween Night. On Christmas night, live on DAZN, the two will do battle again in the headlining bout with a 30 minute time limit. Matchmakers are following what happens in this match with particular interest, as a third win on Fury's resume could potentially land him in talks for a bout with Chaz Classic.
In other league-related news, "Iron Man" MASON has been campaigning for a match on the Black Christmas card and we're told things are very close to being signed. MASON was given a mandatory 30 day suspension by the SFF doctors due to the damage sustained in the bout with Chaz Classic at SFF on DAZN 3. Yuhi Takeda, who faced Chaz Classic in the eliminator bout that sent Chaz to his championship victory, has made his intentions to challenge Classic for the championship very well known. Takeda put up a strong fight against Classic and though the bout lasted 12 minutes, it's clear the Japanese standout made an impression on the new Openweight Champion. League officials are working hard to get Takeda a match on Black Christmas, stay tuned to find out more about that.
We'll have another League News Roundup prior to SFF on DAZN 4. Stay tuned for more information about upcoming SFF events and major main event matches!

The show began with Mike Goldberg and Lenny Leonard welcoming everyone back to the SFF Studio in Atlanta, Georgia for the fourth installment of the SFF live on DAZN. Goldberg says that tonight, one of the most promising prospects in the SFF, Lennox Ali, looks to get back on track as he takes on another top level talent in Jordan Devine. Goldberg mentions that Ali defeated Jake Richards via decision on the inaugural show and says that in conversations today, Ali said he has to make a statement in this win to be taken seriously in the rankings. Leonard agrees but also says Devine's also looking to prove himself because a lot of people thought he actually lost the decision to Caden Thomas back at SFF 2. Both men could potentially find them in contention for a title match if they can manage an impressive enough victory tonight, according to Goldberg.
Goldberg then turns his attention to the co-main event, where the debuting Max Blaze and Shane Hart take on the Alexander Brothers. Goldberg says this is as high-pressure a debut as you could get, debuting against the #1 ranked tag team in the co-main event. Leonard says he thinks Goldberg has a point but with that pressure also comes the attitude that you've got nothing to lose and that could create a situation where the Alexanders find themselves on the losing end of the match. Goldberg also mentions the Seth Vinyard and Bret Andrews pairing and how tonight they're in action against two technical wizards in Donovan Kyle and the debuting Tom Sinclair. Goldberg says it's a nightmare matchup for any tag team because as good as you are on the mat, Vinyard is likely as good or better and Bret Andrews can get the job done with nothing more than brute force, despite being an All American all four years in college and NCAA Champion in his senior year.
They throw to the rules explanation graphic, which has added KO/TKO as a rule. Goldberg says this was deliberated about after the Yuhi Takeda fight on the previous show and though it technically is the same as a ref stoppage, it is an important distinction to make.
METHODS OF VICTORY | Pinfall Submission Countout Disqualification Knockout/Technical Knockout Referee Stoppage Judge's Decision | JUDGING CRITERIA | Based on: Overall Control of the Match Overall Damage Dealt/Received Advantage at the Final Bell | ILLEGAL HOLDS | Closed fists Fish hooking Eye gouging Low blows Using the ropes to offensive advantage Not breaking on the referee's five count

PRELIMINARY BOUT: RED DRAGON (0-0) VS. AJ TRAVIS (0-1) Dragon took no time at all making a statement with his SFF debut, winning in just under three-and-a-half minutes with a death valley driver that he calls the Red Dragon Driver. Travis didn't get any offense in whatsoever in this match and really came off like he didn't deserve to be in the same ring as Dragon. During the brief contest, Goldberg noted that Dragon has been a training partner of current Openweight Champion Chaz Classic.
PRELIMINARY BOUT: GARETH ASHDOWN (0-0) VS. LUCAS SILVA (0-2) This was a very dry, technical match that didn't have a whole lot going on. Ashdown showed no fear of Silva's Jiu Jitsu background, willingly going to the mat with him and exchanging holds. On commentary, Leonard frequently pointed out how Ashdown put himself in dangerous positions on the ground because he knew he had a counter and always managed to stay in an adventageous spot despite Silva's pedigree. Silva attempted submissions but never seemed to get far with them. The last minute or so of the match was a lot of stalling on the ground and when the decision was read, it was a 3-0 unanimous decision for Ashdown.
PRELIMINARY BOUT: CHASE MAXIM (0-1) AND PRESTON MICHAELS (0-1) VS. TROY XANDER (0-2) AND TYLER CAGE (0-2) Xander and Cage picked up their first win tonight in a really impressive bout that saw both teams just kinda throw everything at the wall in hopes of picking up their first win. Xander can do some athletically impressive stuff and any interactions he had with Maxim during the bout were great. It seems like those two have a very good singles match in them. Late in the match, this broke down into an "everyone hits their big move in an attempt to score a pin" type of match, with Xander pinning Michaels after the spear, which Xander calls Absolute Zero. Goldberg remarked that if Xander and Cage can rack up a couple of wins like that, they'd be strong contenders for the tag titles.
MAIN CARD: BASTIAN STARKE (0-0) VS. BRODY KNIGHT (2-1) Starke put on an impressive technical showcase here, working over Knight's neck and right arm, but in the end Knight rallied hard against the German standout, laying into him with hard kicks and elbows, nearly prompting a referee stoppage. Starke laid in some of the nastiest European uppercuts I've ever seen in a wrestling ring in this match, bloodying Knight's lip about halfway through the bout. Starke's signature hold seems to be a rolling front chancery, as he kept going back to that late in the match. Knight did hit the superkick with 11 seconds left and was unable to secure a pinfall, which sent the match to the judges for the second time tonight. The judges gave the match 2-1 to Knight.
MAIN CARD: BRET ANDREWS (1-0) AND SETH VINYARD (1-0) VS. DONOVAN KYLE (0-1) AND TOM SINCLAIR (0-0) Another decisive finish on this card as Andrews and Vinyard ran through Kyle and Sinclair. This match seemed more like an exhibition for Andrews and Vinyard as they openly played with their opponents, letting them get up from sequences that seemed like a sure-fire match ender. Vinyard possesses a weird arsenal that reminds me of mid 2000s Shinsuke Nakamura with the reliance on knee strikes and quick submissions, which he used on Kyle to get the submission victory. Leonard noted that this is two straight under 10 minute wins for Andrews and Vinyard and mentioned them as potential first contenders for the tag titles.
MAIN CARD: JUSTIN LUCK (0-3) VS. BRENDAN BURROWS (0-3) This really wasn't much of a match, Burrows kinda destroyed Luck and this felt like the kind of match where Burrows is being set up to go on a monster run, and to be taken seriously in contention he'll need it given his record. Burrows' hit a modified version of the Last Shot brainbuster and locked in the Koji Clutch for the finish.
CO-MAIN EVENT: PETER AND THEO ALEXANDER (BOTH 2-1) VS. MAX BLAZE (0-0) AND SHANE HART (0-0) This match was a spectacular display of high risk moves, as Blaze and Hart took the fight to the Alexanders from the opening bell. In all actuality, this match was the best display of double team moves to date in the SFF, as both teams ran through what seemed like an entire playbook's worth of team-based offense in hopes of scoring the victory. Hart and Blaze have a move where Blaze hits a backstabber and Hart hits a phoenix splash onto the opponent while the opponent is still on Blaze's knees and that move nearly netted them the victory. Late in the match, the Alexanders exploited a blind tag and took Blaze off of the apron and effectively out of the match so Peter could hit the Olympic Slam on Hart for the finish. Leonard commented post-match that the Alexanders put forth a performance that makes their status as the top ranked team very hard to argue with.
MAIN EVENT: LENNOX ALI (1-1) VS. JORDAN DEVINE (1-1) Ali turned in about as good of a performance as you possibly could, looking to erase the lopsided loss to "Iron Man" MASON on the second card. Devine tried to wear Ali down early, attempting to wrestle the much larger man until Ali floored Devine with a German suplex and went on the offensive. Commentary noted that for guys like Ali and MASON, the considerable size advantage will make things difficult for most of the smaller opponents in the SFF due to their inability to really overcome the onslaught at the start of the match. Devine did make an opening off some dropkicks to the knee just before the finish, but Ali took back over and put Devine away with the uranage.
Ali requested the mic and said that he's proven he can get the job done in main events and said he heard MASON needed a match and that they were looking for a contender for Chaz Classic. Ali called himself the top talent in the SFF and said he'll face anyone the promoters think is ranked above him to prove that he has no equal and demanded another main event match.
The broadcast went to a video hyping the Nick Jacobs vs. Mike Fury rematch taking place on SFF 5: Black Christmas before heading back to Mike Goldberg and Lenny Leonard. Leonard says that tonight, things got a lot more interesting in the tag team ranks and said that the Openweight Championship picture is starting to muddy up too with new contenders seemingly emerging all the time. Goldberg says that Ali's call out of MASON and Classic is interesting, you wouldn't expect Ali to want to match up with MASON again so quickly and Chaz Classic has said he's not looking to defend the title until early next year. Leonard puts over Classic's performance against MASON and said the champion earned some time off, but he knows Chaz wants to get back into things ASAP and Ali is a good opponent. Goldberg hypes the Fury/Jacobs match again and thanks everyone for tuning in to SFF on DAZN and says we'll see everyone on Christmas night!

SFF League Update 11/29/20
After an explosive event at SFF 4, we bring you an update about the first Black Christmas card, an update on both title scenes, more debuts coming and more in this SFF League Update!
First up, the biggest SFF event to date takes place just 27 nights from now, once again at the SFF Studio in Atlanta! Mike Fury and Nick Jacobs headline in a highly anticipated bout that officials are watching closely. These two wrestled to a very controversial decision at SFF 3, with Fury taking the win in a match many felt Jacobs had the clear advantage at the end of the 15 minute time limit. Here, they'll have twice as much time to work with and the winner could potentially find themselves near the top of the still-forming SFF Rankings. In the co-main event, the recently-debuted Red Dragon will take on Yuhi Takeda, who many feel could put himself into a position for a rematch against Chaz Classic with a decisive victory here. It also must be said, that if Dragon can knock off a top contender, pushing himself to a 2-0 record, he could find himself in the title match conversation as well.
The Alexanders turned in an impressive victory over very game newcomers in Max Blaze and Shane Hart and on Christmas night, they'll take on the team of Sykes and Knight in a battle of two of the Tag division's top teams. Elsewhere on the card, the unbeaten duo of Bret Andrews and Seth Vinyard takes on Chase Maxim and Preston Michaels. Andrews and Vinyard have looked dominant in both of their SFF outings and it is no question that they could put themselves at the front of the pack with another dominant performance here.
Also on the card, Gareth Ashdown looks to improve to 2-0 as he takes on Tom Sinclair, Lucas Silva and Caden Thomas both look to kickstart their campaign for a title shot, Lennox Ali takes on the debuting John Klauser and "Iron Man" MASON returns to action as he takes on Brendan Burrows. Each match on this card potentially has a direct impact on the initial SFF Rankings, which will come out immediately following SFF 5's conclusion. Who will take the leap towards being the first challengers for the SFF's top prizes?

We've learned exclusively from SFF matchmakers that Chaz Classic has committed to defending the Openweight Title on the January 16th event, regardless of opponent. The champion has demaned to get back in the ring, feeling he's rested enough to start training again for the top-level competition of the SFF's Openweight Division. Daz and Kid Carnage have been in negotiations for the same card, but it looks like whatever title match materializes may happen in February or March. The Tag Champions are waiting for their division to begin to fully develop before commiting to a title bout.
Many fans around the world have wondered what happened to Igor Turgenev (2-1) and Victor Ivanov (2-1) after their title bout vs. Daz and Carnage at SFF 3. Ivanov suffered a minor shoulder injury and was advised to take time off from competition. Turgenev also required a minor surgery on his left knee. The SFF are happy to announce that both men are expected back in action by the February 13th card on DAZN and both have made their intention of claiming the SFF Tag Team Championship known to management!
Speaking of high-level Russian grapplers, we've received word that the SFF has several new talents debuting in early 2021 that hail from Dagastan, known in this country for being the country that produced UFC lightweight kingpin Khabib Nurmagomedov. Rumor has it some of the new signees are even training partners of Nurmagomedov's. We'll have more on these debuts as they get closer. We've also heard rumblings of some Canadian talent making their debuts early next year as well.
That just about does it for this SFF League Update. We'll see you Christmas Night live on DAZN!
