hmmm, wonder if they can get away making Davey Boy then?  There’s a uk company who is releasing his merch and I believe his daughter is running his estate from what I’ve seen on social media etc so it’s a possibility

I agree a Davy Boy to go with this would be incredible.

I only collect MOC retros and Hasbros, but this goes along to a new topic that appeared on this forum that i responded in about new retro prices affecting hasbros. I would love for a lot of the old "hasbro" guys to be remade so i don't have to keep spending crazy $$$ to get the guys in retro form.

what I don't understand is - is the Hasbro market actually active though?? I've seen a lot of auctions where there are like 35 watching a figure, but it sold for say $90 with on 2 bids
that doesn't suggest it's an active market, irrespective of the auction prices listed, and Hasbros have always been a niche community, most of which is on here LOL!

I don't know where you look, I see MOC figures with like 30 bids going for over $140... So, yes, the Hasbro market is still active!

In the uk listings I look at I see a lot of moc and mint loose figures moving fast and for big numbers which are clearly collectors In recent times what seems to have gone down is the people buying (usually cheap / reasonably priced) job lots of well loved / used figures to use as spares / customs or maybe for their kids to bash around. Does that indicate the customising market is decreasing?

I can attest to the popularity of Hasbro figures, and subsequent cost increase on the secondary market, as I’ve watched it unfold.
I still have my old Hasbro figures from when I was a wee Freaqualizer. I hadn’t purchased any wrestling figures since the Jakks BCAs. When the Mattel Retros were released I had gotten back into the Hasbro figures and I was attempting to collect the figures I hadn’t gotten in my youth. I purchased a Luger, in excellent condition for about $12. I was the only bidder. I had also looked at other Hasbro figures at the time and everything was reasonably priced, with the exception of the green carded figures, which was understandable.
I’m not sure what phenomena has occurred since then, but, there’s been a steady increase in the secondary market cost of Hasbro figures since then. There are still some figures which can be picked up pretty cheaply, but, even figures that I didn’t think to be very rare (Rick Steiner) go for $50 to $60 on the secondary market. I’ve recently picked up Greg Valentine, Kamala and Nailz. With Valentine being the cheapest for about $15. Kamala and Nailz were over $40 a piece. 3 years ago, I picked up Bam Bam, Steamboat and Warrior 2 (I had Steamboat and Warrior, but needed Bam Bam) for $20 in a lot.
I think there is increased focus on Hasbros, which is awesome. And I think part of that is due to the Mattel Retros, and it’s continuing because of ZST and Chella.

Yep definitely since the retros you have seen the increase - I mean I remember not long ago maybe 2/3 years getting a job lot of about 30 figures all actions working, a few scuffs but nothing major for about £50. Nothing super rare or hard to get but still that’s bulked up the hasbro roster nicely but now you’ll be paying £10 a figure minimum no matter who it is

I noticed the biggest jump in the late spring/early summer of last year. I'm guessing it's like everything else; the pandemic. People home, going through old collections, reliving their lives, nostalgia, and the like. The video game market has gotten a bit better, but Hasbro WWF have not. Last March, I got an Owen, BBB, Nasty Boys, and LOD lot, all in great condition, from the UK, for just over $90 USD. A year later, that would go for a lot more. I'm not buying anything else now. I was also smart enough to grab the Mattel retro figures of Diesel and Goldust while I had the chance.

And I reckon I’ll never own JYD because I ain’t paying out the nose for him. LoL

I don't feel like I'm "missing" one, or anything.

It's clearly Johnny the Bull Stormboli But seriously it has to be James Storm.

Seems likely that it’s Storm, not necessarily someone I want/need but good for people that want him.
