Prices are going to stay the same, maybe even higher or go down slightly. As a someone who has been selling stuff out of my collection to make room in the house I'm enjoying the ride as I was able to get rid of most of my extras making some good money, and stuff I didn't need as I got up-dated versions.

Yeah, virus or no virus, the prices are only going to stay steady or rise. If you ever see even a remotely decent price, grab it.

i mean think of it this way....the reason its high is because those figures are no longer available anywhere else.....more people are buying them which means even less supply. prices of collectibles are all about supply v demand and when the supply is low the demand goes higher
the only thing that will change stuff like that is if mattel makes new or updated versions of the same figures. so if they ever released another LOD set it might bring the OG ones down...but im pretty sure Steve has hinted at the fact that neither of them are under contract anymore so the chances are unlikely at least for awhile

They are modern toys the market will go down . I have collected and ran my own own hobby shop for forty years (shop for twenty) . Wrestling figures are weird when the TTL Kurt angle first came out I sold one for 126 now I have to pay someone to take one of those. Another thing that makes wrestling figures weird is that the main lines last a good while so early figures become more collectible until the line ends. Look at classics they sold really well on ebay for me but once Mattel started their market crashed, now that it has been ten years their value is slowly recovering. Wrestling figures also tend to have collectors of all ages (since it is like the only action figure for kids on the shelf, hasbro s lines are for adults and not kid play friendly). But yes the market will fix itself. Don’t you old guys remember when Star Wars Power of the Force II figures were selling for 50’to 100 a pop in 1997 money and now I can get them for 1.00 To 3.00 , that is less than they cost 24 years ago at retail.

If people stopped feeding the secondary market prices it would go down.

I couldn't agree more. Things always go in cycles. Mattel's contract is expiring soon. And while I think it's likely that it gets extended, the bottom could drop out of the line in a hurry if it doesn't. There's also a pretty good chance some of the most expensive Mattel figures (Martel, Bundy, LOD) are high on the list for Jazwares for possible legends figures. Future releases will undercut demand for their Mattel figures.

Your best bet is to search Facebook marketplace and garage sales. If it is moc only for you. Bay every once in a while somebody lists that doesn't know what they have.

If people stopped feeding the secondary market prices it would go down. In those people who feed into the secondary market prices defense, MOST people can’t find $hit at retail. You and you’re area seems to be the exception. You seem to find anything and everything and multiples and earlier than anyone else I do ALOT of traveling (therefore a lot of figure hunting) and it is a sad situation overall for the last few years for Mattel WWE These people just give in and buy and keep driving the prices up I don’t pay those prices. Usually if I can’t find it or trade for it I go without it, but a lot of collectors HAVE to have it no matter what

If people stopped feeding the secondary market prices it would go down. This is the equivalent to if corporations would suspend their need for money (a human concept) and everyone would stay in their house for three to four weeks completely cut off from every other family COVID and almost all other viruses would go away. But it is not going to happen, and neither is people feeding scalpers because humans are stupid and we can’t get out of our own way.

Ok, here's the deal.
Are secondary market prices ok? No. They are a BS thing that is driven by a BS market and people feeding BS scalpers, blah blah blah. We all know. But it isn't going to change.
As long as people are willing to feed the scalpers, they will continue to charge buckets for figures that haven't even hit shelves yet or, just as often, are a year or less old.
But it won't change. It hasn't changed since the day that the evilbay was invented. I remember surfing the site 20 years or so ago and noting how much certain figures went for. It was absurd then, it's absurd now, it will continue to be absurd till the day the site shuts down.
So, with that said... should you buy now? Very likely.
I remember about two months after they hit stores, I saw the Elite Liv Morgans going for about 40 bucks on there. I thought "Oh wow, they came down. I should wait a bit longer, they'll come down more!"
*BUZZER* WRONG.
Don't wait. If you see a deal on a rare figure for 50 to 75 dollars or so, jump on it. Mattel figures, especially flashback elites, seem to only be going up up UP and if you wait too long, you'll wait yourself into oblivion and never get the figure.

AFA said in Q&A thread that they are looking to re-release Gorilla and Harley with different Deco, My Money is only reserved for legends not for wanna be famous Indy guys. I hope we see new ones soon.

I hope we see new ones soon. I own both Gorilla & Harley Race, but I’ll gladly buy the new deco ones as well. I rarely ever buy any current talent, as I simply don’t watch wrestling much at all anymore ... but I’ll buy just about anything withing the 70’s through most of the RA Era. The only current wrestler that I decide on if I want to buy or not is AJ Styles, but I don’t have to worry about hunting down his figures 🤣

I have no interest or need for another Gorilla. And although I have Harley I would buy another version or two of him. If people stopped feeding the secondary market prices it would go down. My rule is very simple when it comes to figures. If it wasn’t something I wanted enough to preorder and I don’t see it locally then I just don’t need it. I don’t care if I know it will be a future pegwarmer if it’s something I know with 100% certainty I want I preorder it. Everything else I buy locally and if I don’t see it then I just don’t get it, because it wasn’t something I wanted enough to preorder.

I’m kind of envious tbh of all the stuff you seem to find But when you say if you don’t find it you don't get it, or if you couldn’t preorder it. What if it was Sting or Orton or Triple H? Or Batman? You couldn’t find it and just say there wasn’t a preorder for it (which was the case forever with Mattel WWE). Do you just go without? You have enough sense not to overpay crazy prices (as do I) but a lot of people don’t. That was my only point
