So Jeremy confirmed these are gonna be smaller (which lines up with what RNL had told me about them and also what I'd heard from someone else who knew), so I don't get to have Khabib choking Kenny Omega out on my display. Thankfully they were kind enough to make a Conor for that exact purpose. It's like they new! Any pics yet? Swear this is the most I've posted in years ahaha Probably gonna get pics right around SDCC (July 22-26), maybe a little earlier. Wonder if that's how the line will be going forward or if this is what's special about this limited line

Just had a look at the descriptions on ringside and it states ''1 pair of Removable UFC Fight Shorts'' in the accessories, surely stating they're removable indicates they're intended to be removed rather than just stating they're cloth? Hoping theres another pair molded underneath and the cloth things just a gimmick

Well that's a bummer they'll be "smaller". Might cancel my RSC order. Or put em on the Bay if they are indeed "limited".

That's a bummer if they're in a smaller scale. But also probably makes sense if they're looking to do a scale cage. At the Mattel scale, that would be a pretty big piece and definitely cost prohibitive.

I just looked on RSC after reading Jables post. They say they are 6" and scaled by weight class. So ... maybe it won't be so bad? I mean, McGregor is tiny anyway.

Hoping theres another pair molded underneath and the cloth things just a gimmick I think it's just them noting that the shorts are removable. I doubt they'd do the fight shorts as soft goods and then have them molded/painted on underneath. That'd be weird.

So Jeremy just posted about it. Sounds like nothing has changed from the horrid looking photos leaked of the prototypes for this series. He said these are unusually limited because the are in a smaller scale than the aew line and are not real scan but hand sculpted. But going forward after the limited series they will be switching to aew scale and real scan. So it sounds like the rumors are true of the line not being up to par with the aew line and putting magic in charge of this line going forward are true. They are probably releasing what was in progress to hold people over until the updated product is made. Kind of sucks for people who ordered these thinking they were starting a new collection when this is just a one off series and the real ufc line is in the works. All posted on Jeremy Padawer on Instagram.

The first series being hand sculpted instead of scanned is really cool. Kind of saved me from canceling the preorder. It's cool that everything after this will be scaled to the AEW figures, but hopefully this initial wave ends up having some extra value later on due to the hand sculpted nature of the figures and limited release.

Gonna wait for the people in series 1 that I want to be remade later on in the proper scale, and then maybe see how I feel about going back to adding these if it’s not too drastic a difference.
They probably should’ve called this series 0 tbh

They probably should’ve called this series 0 tbh I think if the series after this initial one are going to be scanned vs. hand sculpted, there's a decent chance these wind up being a lot different than what we get afterward. It'll be interesting to see how this all plays out for sure.

I'm interested in buying the Conor McGregor figure. Cool to hear Jeremy speak more about this line/ first series.

That proto doesn't look much like McGregor.

I guess if they had already sunk the money into designing and tooling the figured, you might as well put them out. It's also possible that their deal with UFC required that they have product delivered by X date.
But it's pretty clear that the lil guys are a swing and a miss from a design standpoint. Smart move to realize that collectors want the figures in scale with wrestling figures, even if they may have realized that a bit late. And as always brilliant marketing pivot to sell the "limited edition" "hand sculpted" figures.
I'm curious what the feedback from retailers was at ToyFair. It seems like the decision to change course was made during that weekend.

Jeremy confirmed it and I've asked Mqgic about it myself.

Glad I didn't pre-order these now. I'll wait for the in scale ones. Cool for other collectors though. They look great!

Between the AEW ring, Unrivaled 1, Jericho, the New Japan figs and the Lucha Line, and AEW 2 probably coming soon, my wallet could use a rest while I wait for the "standard" scale release of these figs.

I just want to know how "limited" if they'll be selling at Wal-Mart, lol.
