Edge suffered a torn triceps in his match against Randy Orton at Backlash. He already had surgery and is recovering. Some are speculating that a typical recovery time can be approximately eight months, which clearly impacts any immediate plans and questions long term plans.
This was Edge's third match back and his first true one-on-one match since returning to WWE in January. Especially as an Edge fan it's unfortunate for him getting injured, but thankfully it wasn't related to his neck. I wrote this thread because it will surely outlast the Backlash thread. What do you guys think of this? I hope he'll be cleared to have a match by WrestleMania or hopefully sooner.

Certainly a downer that he is injured. I suspect he had the injury and thus explaining the ending of the match to help write him off for a bit? Pure speculation. Hoping for a speedy recovery and safe return though.

Hoping for a speedy recovery and safe return though. Yeah I'm thinking that's why they ended with the punt. I had suspected Orton would win regardless, but since the match was taped a week in advance, they probably switched to that finish in particular.

Part of me says he’s not actually injured. I feel like it’s just to write him off TV.
I know they showed that “operation” photo last night, but it seemed fishy that they didn’t show Edge in the photo. Typically when they do those it’s a full body shot so you see the superstar actually being operated on.

I saw a news spoiler notification before I saw the match and couldn't really tell him appearing hurt. I wouldn't be surprised either, especially when there's all this down time with low ratings and not really being able to draw money with shows. For his case, hopefully it's a work. And gives Orton some good heat, too.

I hope he has a speedy and successful recovery. Dude is a warrior. It's a bummer he got hurt like this.

Was it the greatest torn tricep ever?

There’s really people saying this is a work when you could clearly see the bruising from the tricep tear. It’s not a work lol.

Second match into your "comeback" - and you tear your tricep... Maybe it's a sign?...

I feel really bad for Edge but it could be a blessing in a way, no one could have predicted this pandemic and I’m sure he’d rather enjoy wrestling in front of a crowd than an empty arena, it’s what he deserves after 9 years out. Hopefully 8 or so months down the line crowds will return to arenas.

Thank god it wasn’t his neck. I hope he heals thoroughly, but holy crap this could have gone so much worse.

I didn't think it was a work, but when you think about it, it'd be a pretty convenient thing. First, I didn't notice any favoring of the arm even when watching the match after learning about the injury. WWE didn't show the "moment" when it was injured like they typically do (Remember Rollins' knee, Orton's shoulder, etc.). The match was taped, so if it was a planned work they could have applied makeup to sell bruising/inflammation during the match. Again, not saying it's a work, but the more you realize the opportunity for them to do so, I wouldn't be surprised.
