Worked for me. My Rude looks perfect. So the spray is for IF the figure turns white? And if so spray the area? If not then no need in spraying? In your case anyway. Exactly. The legs on mine didn't require any extra attention. I had to rub a bit harder on the stains on the shoulders than I did the ones on the legs--probably why they required the clear coat.

But I’m not 100% sure, but If it turns the skin tone white, I’d hate to try it on color like on tights.

Since we are on the subject of staining. Does anyone know what can be done to prevent stains besides removing the soft goods? This of course would be for loose unstained figures. Maybe ive been lucky but my Yokozuna isn't stained and its had the robe on forever but now im paranoid.

I seen where people was soaking their robes in soap and hot water to pull the dye out, or putting them in a sock and washing them in the washing machine. I tried that with a few of mine, but the figures were already stained, so idk if it worked. But I’ve been fortunate so far not to have many stained figures, and I’ve had the soft goods on for a while

I wash every piece of soft goods when I receive them. Never have staining issues.

Does that go for "leather" jackets also? Like Jim Neidhart and E74 Finn Balors jackets.

I’m happy to report I’ve restored my Rude. I used Lacquer thinner (I use this instead of Acetone, because I find it less harsh on plastic), Testors Gloss Coat (clear) spray and a non-textured paper towel. I made sure the paper towel had a good amount of lacquer thinner on it and used my fingertip to vigorously rub the stain away. I then ran the leg (only the thigh to calf portion) until cold water and used hand soap to dilute any remaining chemical on the leg. Then, I used my clamp and sprayed the gloss coat onto the leg (again, just the leg) to remove any “whitening” which appears after using harsh chemicals on plastic. I didn’t see the need to do this process with the arms, so I just swapped them with the pink Rude figure. Also swapped the boots, although the former boots are a half-shade darker than the latter. Hope this helps anyone: Axe, a year or so ago you (i think) told me about using lacquer thinner to remove logos and then using a testors clear semi gloss brush on to hide/cover the white. Do you think this routine would still work with that or should the spray be used?

Im going to hand wash just incase. Already did Legends 1 Steamboat and Rick Martels jacket. Didnt notice anything in the water i used for Steamboats red jacket but did notice a slight darkening of the water i used on Martels black jacket not much but it was a tad darker. Probably was the excess dye and if it was im so glad i didnt keep that jacket on him. Thanks again you may have just saved alot of disappointment for me in the future. A few of my Jakks classics got stained over the years and i never thought that could happen until it did and pretty much ruined collecting for me for a long time.

Did u buy the exact same brand of stuff Axe showed us? I couldn't get to Wal-Mart today I'm gonna go first thing in the a.m. Did u use a non textured paper towel? I was going to try a q-tip. I'm very excited and very nervous to try this process.

I don’t remember who it was that talked about it on here before, but I think they put their soft good Jacket in a cup of hot water and soap and let it set over night. But I vaguely remember . But I’m gonna finish doing all of mine also. I started doing a few and gave up. But I’ll just put them all in different socks and put them in the washer .

Hey, brush on might even be better than spray (I’ve used both to cover the white residue) because it can be applied just to areas where it is needed.

Im gonna find me a test figure to work with first. I have 2 small spots on my Rude. Id rather take a trial run on some basic with stains.

Just wondering, does anyone know what causes the staining? The dye in the fabric. JAKKS had the same problem. It's not company specific.
