It’s 2020. Cross advertising isn’t exactly needed. Collectors are aware of AEW figures existing. Wrestling fans are aware that DoN is tonight. Social media is the promoting route just about everyone takes. Which is being well covered. And why wouldn't you want to advertise your product to perhaps a wrestling fan who ISN'T aware that these exist?

And why wouldn't you want to advertise your product to perhaps a wrestling fan who ISN'T aware that these exist? Because there’s no need to spend that money, when there’s social media. It’s the reason the majority of companies/artists no longer use commercials as a platform for advertising. This isn’t 1994 anymore. Could they mention it on the “broadcast” tonight? Sure. Is there a need? Absolutely not.

Because they aren’t being released until around the next PPV so building hype for a product they can’t sell yet doesn’t do a whole lot. I was hyped in February when they showed series 1 on Dynamite (see they already hyped it to their audience, which is larger on TV than PPV anyway) but I’m feeling really impatient now that I’ve been waiting forever They were gonna be at comic con, they’ll probably do something around July and have an ad or something at All Out

Yeah we just saw how well WWE/Mattel’s social media promotion went with Legends being posted late and Sting having to be cut

Excellent job by the social media corespondent.

Ad for the figures just aired prior to the main event. Didn’t distinguish between series 1 and 2, just advertised all being available in August. Also of note, showed only the Jericho with the belt.

Boom. And that's precisely what was needed.

Cool spot. That's the sort of simple promotion that can help get the line off to a strong start and expose new folks to figures.

That was a dope commercial. I mean I meant what I said earlier about the marketing strategies for casuals etc, but I'm not gonna pretend it didn't get me hyped for August, it totally did. Having the release date definitely helped now that they can be a little more accurate there.

The Moxley figure looks a lot better in that ad than it did at toy fare

I agree; I feel like Mox looks really off (although he didn’t look great prior either) and Fenix had a really long neck. I think the rest were fine, though.
