Whatever it is, it’ll be met with complaints and disappointment. That's the unfortunate part. There are complaints about a lack of news, but AFA does a rolling AMA on this site. And we get a special announcement on a Saturday, well before SDCC would have taken place, but people on the boards knowingly (or maybe unknowingly) crap on it before it even happens.
I get the disappointment about Ryder and Hawkins not being involved, but WWE made its decision and we're left to deal with it. That's life.

That was it? Hasbro Marvel Legends does a 45 minute reveal show and live stream with us all on Facebook yesterday, and this is what Mattel gives us. Oooookayyyy... The gap between marketing from Hasbro or Funko and Mattel is like the Grand Canyon. And it's not just the WWE line. Add in things like Hasbro Pulse and HasLab, and it's honestly like Mattel isn't even trying to stay competitive. They're just doing their own thing, whether it works or not. |

Out of curiosity, how far in advance do you need to know to cancel a figure from a line? Obviously, EC3 is coming out. But have you ever had a figure done and produced and have to sit on a ton of them? It seems as if sales have really picked up at Walmart and Target in the past 6 months. Why is it and is there anyway to get them to get all stores to carry the product? For example, very few Walmarts carry the survivor series line. I have one Walmart near me that hasn't had an elite on shelf since last year. It’s happened from time to time but we’re lucky it’s only been very rare occurrences. Jeff Hardy’s first figure is probably the most famous example. Sales have been great on Elites. Elites are currently the number 1 traditional action figure in the US. The line is on fire.I think it’s because there’s really something for everyone in the lineups. There’s something to be excited for in Elites or the Exclusive lines no matter what your personal tastes are. While solving inventory issues at individual stores may be a more difficult hurdle to overcome, the push is always happening to improve availability, peg space, etc for the line at retail in general. |
