Why is the DM Bret Hart so expensive? I know the older figures have become more expensive as time passes, but the prices on eBay for him are insane. I’ve been wrestling (no pun intended) on getting a Bret and I like the DM a little better than the Ultimate.

First time they were elites at a premium price due to added accessories and/or extra deco that you couldn’t get in the regular elite line. Besides a few exceptions the second time they were pretty much what you would find in the normal elite line but with a fancier box. Couple examples of how much cheaper they went the second time around. It baffles me they didn't swap the DM versions of Macho and Warrior around, since the higher price could have given Macho his jacket... I'd pretty much guarantee that wouldn't have happened. The latter DM's were all about making people pay a premium for more desired characters. As others mentioned, they were Elites in a fancy box. It was one of the more blatant cash grabs I've seen, so it wasn't a shock when retailers and collectors both abandoned the line.

Good luck finding one with the hat tassel, it’s the rarest accessory and most commonly lost one probably in the history of wrestling toys. Unless you get one MOC most people end up losing it. It’s a miracle I still have mine

It’s a miracle I still have mine I never even saw him in stores. At the time I was still a teenager, and my dad was even keeping an eye out for me to ty to find it and never saw it. I got HBK from that set, though. One of my favorite figures in my collection.

How can you say that later DM has Mania 3 Macho Man and Mania Ric Flair I think they are good ones after owning That DM macho I never feel like having another one.

Most collectors dont want to sell theirs, so the ones that do end up putting it up for a high price.

Best face scan of Jericho ever very underrated figure.

And a Surfer Sting that managed to have fewer accessories than the E63 version. I didn't say they aren't good figures. They are, and I own most of them. But they were charging a premium price for the character, not for the amount of design going into the figure. They tried the same with the EG line and bombed miserably. Kudos to Steve and company for course correcting and delivering some quality work in the Ultimate line for the most part.

Biggest bombshell on me was the said Goldberg was in the line and I thought it will come with leather jacket and a black pants.

I have a few of the DM figures, but I've only directly paid for one of them...Undertaker and Mania III Savage were Christmas gifts, and I got the second John Cena for $5 at Five Below.

Defining moments had some special editions in it. Like the granite Warrior, Or the One Warrior Nation Warrior. Those were limited. A granite Warrior went for 25,000 USD in December. Talk about return on investment. In truth I wish more of those kinds of things came out. How about a bronze stone cold? There are other example and ideas I’m sure. I have a Hulk Hogan. I need to get the rest of them.
