You can never say that someone's done in this business. He or Vince will get the itch and he'll be back for a Mania or Blood Money show.
Anyway, what a great documentary series.

It's always hard to let go as a fan of a favorite. But he needs to stop. He's almost as embarrassing as Flair in the ring. Maybe he could pull off another Cinematic spectacle, but he himself admits he can't go anymore. He can always do a run-in, make an appearance, etc. on TV but no more matches please.

And to think when I saw Undertaker debut at Survivor Series I said to myself: "That character is dumb, it won't last." What a career and hopefully it's all over and done with as far as matches are concerned. We'll get the special appearance here and there and I'm sure Taker has a few chokeslams in him. Taker said it's time for someone else to step up, too bad there isn't anyone, in any fed, that would be able to do it.

I remember watching Mean Mark in wCw and I nicknamed him Pinocchio. Because he reminded me of Hans Klopek from The Burbs. So when he made his debut as Taker I yelled "Hey it's Pinocchio!" But he was booked so strong (still don't know why he was counted out), I was happy for him and the nickname died quickly.
Over the years my love of the character had varied, Big Evil being my favorite. But he was always the staple of wrestling. The end all be all. So it's going to take time to grasp wrestling without him.

I enjoyed all five parts of the documentary. For him to break character as much as he did was definitely a rare treat and something special. His love for and loyalty to WWE is unmatched and he deserves all the respect he’s earned and then some.
As someone pointed out, he never said the word retired. I still believe he’s not done yet. I believe there’s a part of him that wants to have a final match in front of fans once crowds are allowed again. Him vs AJ in an actual match will be great as AJ can get a good match out of basically anyone.
His final match should be advertised as such ahead of time. It would be a huge draw and sellout. If they’re looking for a huge draw once arena and stadium shows are allowed, the final match of The Undertaker’s career would be one of the biggest draws in history.

Did anyone catch that he never said the word "retired"? I think he knows that if he does end up coming back for another match kind of like Shawn Michaels did, he wouldn't want to go back on his word. Just pointing that out because in wrestling that seems to always be the case. Obviously he deserves to end his career however he sees fit, but it was disappointing his "last match" was not in front of any fans, and his true last match was in Saudi Arabia. Didn't he also just say recently in an interview, he’s gonna hang up his boots officially when he can walk out of the match and be content that that’s how he ended his career I'm sure that's how every other wrestler has felt when they retire.

I'm actually shocked that this thread dedicated to discussing the docu-series is only 5 pages long, even after the Undertaker pretty much announced he's had his last match...

I think people had already come to terms with him going soon, this was more so just the confirmation that we all needed. Whats more to say other than the man is a legend and may he... REST IN PEAACEEEEE.

I still think he comes back but either way it was a joy to watch the Undertaker for 30 years.

I still have to watch this. I’m glad I waited until after all the parts came out so I can binge it.

I thought episodes 1 and 2, maybe even episode 3, were all so similar. After anticipating them week-to-week and essentially saying the same thing, I really lost interest in it.
The last two episodes really brought me in. The final episode should get a damn award.
Great series and a good look at a character that I never thought we would get. I have been an Undertaker fan my entire life and it was so exciting to get such a glimpse into his life and his perspective on his career.

I still have to watch this. I’m glad I waited until after all the parts came out so I can binge it. I did the same thing. First two episodes watched on Monday then the next three yesterday. It was a great documentary as the Undertaker has always been a mysterious character and you never really got to see the real Mark for a long time. The only thing that kind of bugged me about it was that they spent so much of it tracking his streak and almost no time was spent on how or why the streak ended.

I don't think Undertaker should retire without having a match against James Ellsworth. Then he can go out like a real legend.

‘Tales from the Deadman’ was mediocre, at best.

Sorry for the late reply, but I’m assuming the original premise for the documentary was going to be how and why the streak ended, but then Mark just kept going and going. They probably have a ton of footage and interviews around that, but figured they could do a documentary on that subject all by itself later, after Taker goes into the HOF, and kept the cameras rolling until he was really ready to hang it up.

‘Tales from the Deadman’ was mediocre, at best. Wasn’t great, I agree. Noticed a few flaws in his stories, most notably wrestling Austin & HHH in a handicap match in 2001 then having to endure the plane ride from hell with his ear injury... only that flight was on the tour a year later.

IMO , he deserves a proper send off : what if he turns into smoke and then the smoke flows into the urn , the circle is complete and hes now re-united with Bearer
If he has a match with Sting then it should be a scorpion casket match - loser ends up getting stung in the casket , would make sense in kayfab for both characters (they would just insert a pic of the scorpions in the casket or use sfx)

Haven't got around to watching it yet seems to have some mixed reviews only saw snippets and it seemed entertaining enough. It's still a very odd thinking of wrestling without the Undertaker even as someone who doesn't watch much anymore, from the last few years of matches he did do - a lot of them definitely left a lot to be desired and were just tarring slightly what was an amazing career and it was a bit sad to watch from what he was. Time catches up with everyone unfortunately even the "Immortal deadman", I think the Styles match while not a traditional send off it was good that he had one more solid outing.

I watched the first 3 episodes. It's harder to watch than I expected. Time is a bitch.
Edit: Just finished it. Nearly shed a tear, real tough to watch. Definitely have a new found appreciation for everything he's done.

I remember when Hulk Hogan beat the Undertaker at Tuesday In Texas brother. That was a great match.
