Oh yes that was an interesting one for sure. I believe the employee said they had it but he wasnt able to go an unpack it for him. That's what nearly lead to him punching him out. It’s legit never that serious. I’m sitting here envisioning that in my head like wow It’s people like that that make me embarrassed to be a collector. Seriously I honestly think that’s a factor in why I do preorders on figures when possible, and have actually preferred ebay at times. Because I KNOW that some of those idiots have ruined us in the eyes of retail employees.

I’ll always ask employees if I see one and if I think they might have something I’m looking for, and then I roll with whatever their answer is. And honestly, that’s a good method for potentially getting what you want too. I’ve had on multiple occasions employees tell me no, and then when I respond like a normal functioning adult, they backtrack and literally say something to the effect of “actually, you’re not being a jerk so hang on a second” and end up going to check. If I didn’t work retail in a toy department in college, I’d think that was an insane train of thought. But I’ve dealt with the bad collectors in our hobby enough on the employee side that I totally understand the disdain.

I mean that’s absolutely true, it’s why we as a whole for the most part get joked about, laughed at, and why people don’t wanna help us most of the time. The vocal minority ruins it for the large majority.

If they’re not up by 12pmEST I’m done collecting. I just can’t do this anymore. I’ve lost a lot of money, friends, relationships, and now my family is upset that I won’t come over for brunch right now. I’ve given up too much for figs and all they do in return is disappoint me. High noon and than that’s it for me fellas.

I was always taught a bit of kindness goes a long way with employees and customer service in general, employees at both Target/Walmart have bent over backwards trying all they can to try to help me flag a specific fig down. Even have told me what days restock are and what time to come and offered to run a store pickup order so I would be good when it does finally come in. Somewhat similar with shoes, but I just tend to try to get them after release (unless they are Jordan 11s. Gotta have those at the drop, they’re my favorite shoe ever haha)

There’s been strides made with being able to get these exclusives (DoD and Legends having preorder). Once one of y’all say they’re up, I’ll try my best. I got my app and card ready to go for Sting. If I can get to the ATM to deposit this cash while they’re still up, I’ll get Razor too. If not, I’ll be happy with the Sting I wanted from jump

During a pandemic in which MOST Targets are worried about essentials, over zealous collectors are pissed they can't find Red Hulk or Widow exclusives...sounds about right and on par with the hobby at times... Remember the guy here who wanted to punch a Walmart employee in the face for not going out back and getting him the WrestleMania shipper? This is still one of the best toy arguments .. happened at a local mall over a funko pop that is under $8

In before the first sad sap story of somebody needing to buy seventeen Valentines because their sick/dying/disabled child/truck driving uncle/great grandmother is the biggest Hammer fan and will surely perish, should they be forced to go without sixteen of his highly sought out legends series figure of which no reputable source can confirm a release for so $550 is a perfectly acceptable starting bid.
