Remember when Pat Patterson kissed him on the mouth at King of The Ring 2000?

No debate as to who’s the best ring announcer of all time. No one compares to The Fink. I’ll never forget the time CM Punk brought him back to announce him for a match and Fink got teared up at the crowd chanting his name. great moment for sure! Besides commentary calling him fat and long winded. Bless Booker for actually showing respect. Finkel always deserved it.

RIP. Wasn't he in a wheelchair? Plus he wasn't very well these past few years. I think he suffered a stroke a little while back.

You’ve gotta be kindling me. One of if not the greatest to do what he did. An iconic voice who definitely left his legacy in the pro wrestling world. If anyone still hasn’t watched Legend’s House, go back and watch it. His heart really shined through in that show. RIP Fink

Wow that’s terrible news! He was a great one. Every time I would go to a MSG show in the last few years I would think to myself “the Fink should be the ring announcer tonight”. I was fortunate to meet him at a wrestling convention and he was very nice!
RIP Howard Finkel 😢

Legendary impact on the industry, made the shows feel and sound more important. I will always enjoy his work when i re watch the classics, R.I.P, one of a kind.

Not 100% shocking considering his health problems the past few years, but still a hit in the gut. I'm lucky to have grown up on wrestling with the likes of the Fink, Mene Gene, Gorilla and Heenan as the voices of the business. He really was someone who loved wrestling, and was one of those that was a historian of it, and unlike someone like Cornette, he didn't have a chip on his shoulder on version of the business he didn't agree with, he just loved wrestling. And yes, there have been some good ring announcers in wrestling over the years, but hands down, the Fink was at the top of the list. RIP.

I remember hearing his story on Legend's House of being bullied and that he finally felt accepted as a part of the WWE family.... thank you for everything, Howard! Rest In Peace, sir. You will truly be missed.

One thing that's been constant that I've seen of the wrestlers commenting on it, and it's spanning wrestlers from multiple generations, is every one of them, called him their friend. The man showed loved for everything wrestling, including all those involved in it. And if there is one silver lining to think of, it's that in his life, he got to know how loved an appreciated he was, by not only his peers, but the fans as well.

While there are way too many condolences to put here, there was one that really stuck out to me, that Vickie Guerrero posted:
I’m sad to hear of the passing of Howard Finkel! He was a gentleman and kind soul! I will always be debted to him for escorting Eddie from Minneapolis to Phoenix after he passed. When he called me....he said...”I don’t want Eddie to be flown home by himself”. RIP love you friend
It's hearing something like that, or the countless others, whether wrestlers or fans, that talked about how kind he was, that makes me wish we had a lot more people like Howard Finkel in this world, because maybe the world would be a lot better place.

That is full of class and respect. That just adds to his already beloved reputation for being a very kind and friendly man. RIP Howard Finkel. The best to ever do it.
