I'm sorry. I'm not trying to be a d*ck. According to their own press release, $48 million would cover every talent and employee payment for the rest of the year. They also said they have $500 million in reserves to "weather the storm". They're using the pandemic to lay people off and it's a bad look. I do rip the WWE pretty often. I'm critical of their business practices and the way they waste the talent they have. I want WWE to be the best they can be because that would force the rest of the world's wrestling to become better too. Again, I'm not arguing just to argue. This company does some really sh*tty stuff and it's bonkers that people blindly defend it. They do some awful stuff. No question about that. The Saudi arrangement is just terrible.
You need to watch Drake Maverick's video that he posted on twitter. It will get to you, believe me. He is very emotional about today.
Sure thing man, I'll check it out. Honestly, I feel the most for the people who are on the road for them like 5-6 days a week hauling their production stuff all over the world. WWE should do everything in their power to keep paying them.

If you want to see what this day means to at least one of the performers, please go and find Drake Maverick's video he posted on twitter. It's a pretty powerful two minutes. I cried. That was heartbreaking

Lol you understand this is because of COVID-19 right? Otherwise all these people would still be employed What part of you not understanding that because of XFL shutting down, Vince's pet project, he lost a crap ton of money, therefore this is trickling down because of that? AEW has yet to release anyone, have they? This is just Vince's greed and lining his own pocketbook. Don't be so naive as to think it's as black and white as all that. XFL shut down because of COVID-19 LOL what don’t you understand?

WWE has even more money to give to Bill Goldberg and Brock Lesnar now.

I went to the WWE.com site and I don't see Zack Ryder's name on the list. Where are people getting these names from?? Because I seen on FB someone saying Kari Sane, Ruby Riott and Peyton Royce were released too.

The only positive I take away from this, is it will give a lot of guys who weren’t being given the opportunity to improve at their craft a shot back on the indies that have been fairly depleted the past year and a half with Wwe’s signing spree, ROH and AEW. It will give guys a chance to show their worth. The releases were def needed and pre pandemic most would agree that a major release spree would be a great thing for all of wrestling. Questionable timing for sure though!

Did he not sell some WWE stocks to fund this? Oh, he'd did. Like a year ago he sold off a ton and then the price went up like a few days after. He instantly lost money. A few weeks ago he also received a calculated $80 million in advance for agreeing to sell 15% of his WWE shares in the future. And to address a previous comment about WWE and XFL, the bankruptcy filing did show WWE held almost 25% stake in the league.

Their roster is also a fraction of WWE's and most of them are EVP's. I agree that what WWE did blows, but this is directly related to the pandemic. It's crappy, but it's the reality.

Try clearing your browser data to refresh it maybe. I frequently have that issue with live results at track meets when I'm coaching and they update frequently and that tends to fix it. Zach is 100% on the list though

No, I am on the WWE.com site on my computer. But it just keeps the same names from a few hours ago on there.

For whatever reason people have been already adding a ton of names via photoshop for shock and awe. Seen that Kairi one floating around but at the moment it’s untrue, someone even tried faking one that had Orton and Joe on it too. Just check the reliable stuff.

Sorry but I don't see what the big deal is. They got rid of guys they don't use at all. They used to do this every year. They needed to get rid of alot of these guys years ago.

There might be enough money to bring back Sting and Hulk Hogan to WWE.

Damn shame to see so many talented people released. Some are more surprising than others that's for sure. But rather than acting like I know WWE's finances, I'll just be feeling sorry for them (and everyone else in the country having similar issues).
The situation sucks. Simple as that.
