WOW! Hogan got 1 million for WM1 and Piper got 75,000. Eesh. I have a feeling that it's an unreliable amount, it was most likely that it was Hulk's royalties that was paid out and not his WM1 payoff but he probably fooled Bundy. Dave's numbers seem to be more accurate, 75-100k is more believable for WM1. Updated Tom Zenk, Added Shawn Michaels, Tom Prichard, Ted Dibiase, and an other section with info on when a minimum salary started.

Tiny update despite today's sad WWE Great Purge of 2020, is that as per SummerSlam 1991 and details from Jim Cornette, is that there is a pool of money off of a gate and unused talent (called "standby") would get paid. So this was common and not a one time PPV thing.

Allen Coage (Bad News Brown) signed a five year deal with WWF. Says he made more money in Japan. Used to get advances of $100 for lodging. Once got a cheque for $250 in 1989, the lowest he ever made, claims Vince was taking away money from talent to pay for losses incurred due to No Holds Barred.

The Rockers didn't work the event, however, when Big Boss Man is bringing the Mountie back to the paddy-wagon to go to jail, you can see the Rockers backstage in a room watching the TV monitors. Also, in the same room, I believe you see Mr. Perfect as well, he had to duck out of the way since he was a bad guy and the Rockers were good guys.

Hulk Hogan's 1994 WCW contract was a two year deal at $500,000 per PPV for 4 PPV a year. Was not paid for TV since it was part of the PPV obligation. Plus 25% of any PPV incremental revenue increase based on average PPV bottom line (Bischoff as source). Wade Keller reported possible 65% for merch but WCW may have reduced that number.
Scott Hall and Kevin Nash signed with WCW in 1996 for $750,000 a year

Ric Flair 1991-92 WWF one year payout: Flair says he made 130,000 more than his WCW payout (no guarantee annual salary). Powerslam estimated his salary to be $730,000 in WCW in 1990-91, so this would mean Flair likely made around $860,000 in one year in the WWF (which means he definitely drew money).

I thought Hogan brought in Heenan as well. Also, a little surprised that Jesse got the lowest out of all the announcer, he was a big star at the time. I wonder if Vince held it against him that he tried to unionize and took it out on his pay... Heenan waited to finish his deal with Verne before he came in. Mean Gene was lucky to get the best deal out of it. mean gene also brought the wcw hotline, which would have it's own money income, making him more of an asset.
