I'm wondering if a heat wave or sudden cold snap would have any effect on the virus. I don't think the virus will further itself much in the Southwestern US with the heat about to be dialed

Well, it happened. In my small NJ town of 9,500 people, a case was confirmed. Oh, woe is us.

I work at a strip club in Houston and we are on mandatory shut down for the next two weeks. If it only last two weeks, I'll be fine. I'm not so sure if it lasts longer though.
Definitely can't buy any toys anytime soon. If stuff gets drastic, I'll be selling them all.

Things are already strange. It's hard to imagine what things will look like a few months from now.

I am rushing to dicks sporting goods today to buy weights. Don't know if this will slow down my hiring process at the local correctional facility.

I don't think he's talking about going out, I think he's talking about having the money to do it, as where he works is shut down for two weeks. The thing that's making everything worse, is people not using common sense. Hording stuff they really don't need to be hording, not taking the advice of experts to avoid big crowds. The real annoying one, is the people bragging, despite being asked to avoid places like crowded bars, restaurants, they go, and then when called out it they say, "you can't tell me what to do, I'm an American!" But at least you also, like in most instances, the good in people too. And really, how sad is it, that we actually have to have an international health crisis to remind people they should regularly wash their hands, or even worse, teach them how to properly wash them. You know, something we all should learn when we're little kids.

Take it for what it's worth. A friend of mine has family high up in the military and word going around is by this weekend, there is going to be a nationwide quarantine for everyone and EVERYTHING is shutting down. So get out there and buy your groceries or you'll be trying to get a box of government cheese from the choppers dropping food to everyone.
Again. Take it for what it's worth.

You know, something we all should learn when we're little kids. You can lead a horse to water, but you can't make it drink without an executive action. In Massachusetts, amid unprecedented shutdowns to established norms in this area like the Southie parade on St. Patrick's Day and the postponement of the Boston Marathon, pictures still came out this weekend of bars throughout Southie flooded with people, lines out the door, packed in like sardines. For every instance this country faces that lets it rest on the haunches of how Americans "band together" in times of crisis, we sure are brazenly f*cking stupid when given a pretty clear directive to, you know, band together and set aside our own selfish needs for the good of the many. Granted, getting off at Savin Hill generally constitutes a noted drop in mental capacity when you surface at street level and this could simply be an isolated matter, but I feel like there are less instances of "everything's cancelled, stay the eff home" being met with scores of people packing into bars well above capacity in other countries.

In all seriousness, I feel sorry for the women who work at strip clubs or who are in the entertainment industry right now. You really can't get temporary unemployment from that.

Buncha prudes that run things. They deserve just as much a right to get by as everyone else.

My company set us up with the option to work remotely from home just Incase. Not looking forward to it. I’ve been working from home since Friday. While I don’t mind not having to commute, and being able to work in sweats, I am far less productive. My system keeps crashing or losing connection to our server. Also, apparently the people in my house are insane during the day. It’s so noisy here. Also sucks that my gym is closed. I’m working out out at home but getting a fraction of the burn I usually get.

Yeah man, I'm anticipating the same thing with my household. Management at my company is pretty laid back though so I'm anticipating them cutting us slack as long as we are making the effort to get as much done as we can. I'm hoping none of my clients want to have any conference calls because I don't really wanting them having my cell phone number.
