I don't see where it looks bad, I just think he got it a very wrong angle. It should be bit lower.

It would be better if it were anywhere else but his neck.  Arm? Leg? Thigh? back? chest?  Those would be acceptable.  But his neck?  lol wow.

This thing is hideous! When I seen it at revolution all I could think of is him instantly regretting it once he looked in the mirror after getting it. Why there? It might not of looked so bad if it wasn't as big as his entire neck lol

At least we'll get 2 "untainted" cody figures from jazwares

I honestly am so confused. When did he get this? If he got it right after his last dynamite appearance, it's still healing and it'd be peeling/scabbing like crazy. If he got it right before Revolution like the reveal suggests, there would still be some redness in the area or even still having a bandage on it if his artist used the type that you leave on for multiple days. If he got it like 2 days before or something and it hadn't really started peeling yet, well maybe I'm too conservative with my own tattoos healing properly, but I sure wouldn't be wrestling a 30 minute match and risking a huge infection. It's literally an open wound at that point. Especially when MJF was planning on blading. (and I'm looking forward to the botchamania clip where you can clear as day see the ref botch getting the blade from his shoe and making it super obvious).


No hate on him if he likes it and it's actually real, but the timeline just doesn't make any sense here. Not to mention the artist he credits does a lot of decent looking work, and likely would not have done it with the placement that high on the neck for someone's 2nd tattoo ever. Especially when the first is a sentimental piece.

He wasn’t on Dynamite this past week, so it was likely done right after the Atlanta Dynamite on 2/19. I wouldn’t know if a little over a week is sufficient time for healing though.

On Saturday afternoon I watched the video AEW posted on YouTube of Cody and Young Bucks doing their panel at C2E2. Cody was wearing a huge scarf around his neck the whole time. At first I thought the scarf was making it look like he had something on his neck, but the more I looked I’m like “does he really have a tattoo on his neck?” I had totally forgot about it by the time his match came on the PPV, so the first shot of him where it was in sight I was just like.. oh my god I can’t believe he did that. I think it would look great if he had it on his other pec opposite of the Dream tattoo.

It's a decent tattoo - just the placement is a bit...off. I agree with others that it would've looked better on his other pec.

However - it's his body, his choice. If he's happy with it, then who are we to question it?

I was just watching BTE, and behind the scenes before their C2E2 panel Cody says he got the tattoo “yesterday”, so that would mean he got it two days before the PPV I believe.

The placement really is my only issue with it. I think the design is actually kind of cool. On the neck though? He looks like a criminal as opposed to the white meat babyface that he is. The fact that he has only one other makes it really stick out. I'm assuming he'd get more so that it looks less out of place.

I don't know if he's neck is at a weird angle but the tattoo doesn't sit right on that part of his body. That would have been perfect across his throat though.

I think it sends a powerful message that he's a wrestler first and not a suit. People told him that he'd be taken less seriously when he does the big VP meetings with people outside of AEW. He's going all in on being a wrestler and I support him, even if I think it's not the best tat I've seen. lol

Personally, I think all neck tattoos look bad on people with as few tattoos as Cody, but that does look pretty crap.

If got a few more tattoos it wouldn't stand out so much but I think that's the whole point of this. He wants his logo, his brand to stand out. It worked.
