I would think we'll get Cole vs Balor prior to TakeOver so that Balor has a shot to block Cole before he becomes the longest reigning NXT Champ of all time. So like two weeks out from Mania Cole vs Balor and then Cole celebrates the following week leading into Tampa.
Seems like it's going to be:
Cole vs Dream Balor vs Lee Ciampa vs Gargano Bros vs UE
Not sure if Rhea will pull double duty or not, but I'm going to guess Nox vs Kai in a cage.

Balor has got to get a shot one way or another. One would have to view him as the unofficial #1 contender already.. I mean maybe Ciampa still, but he has other issues to worry about now. But Balor just beat Gargano, he previously beat Ciampa, and he previously beat Ciampa/Lee in that #1 contender's match before losing to Cole via Gargano distraction. He's dominating. It would definitely make sense for him to challenge Cole BEFORE he passes 292 days. Selfishly I want to see Cole vs. Balor in Tampa, and in my opinion would be the biggest match they could do given Balor's status. I always kinda viewed that as the match they would build to for Tampa, but then they went and booked it in December. And while Cole vs. Dream would be a good and worthy title match, I just don't know if I'm into that so quickly off Dream returning. I'm more ok with it if Cole would retain, but I feel like they could use a little more time to build him up to Cole rather than just a little over a month. A triple threat would be a good solution too.

Haven’t finished yet, I’m up to the Tag Title Match, but everything else has been great

A triple threat would be a good solution too. I agree with all of this, 100%. Dream got hurt and it's really killed his momentum. He's not as over as he was 8 months ago. Which puts him in a tough spot since he's supposed be the top babyface and I think that guy is Keith Lee or Ciampa right now. I have no doubt Dream can be just as over with a good build but I don't think there is enough time for it right now. Then it gets into Cole and Balor both being heel and letting a heel vs heel match be your main event, even if it is the biggest match you can give fans, which I totally agree that to be the case. I think the realistic best case scenario is getting Dream vs Balor vs Cole in a triple threat. That kind of leaves Keith Lee hanging unless they want to give Dijak one more shot at him in Tampa and switch the title. Wouldn't be a long run for Lee, but he is probably looking at moving up to the main roster quickly, anyway. I'm guessing Heyman is chomping at the bit to get Lee on Raw to inject some life into that US Title picture that, quite frankly, hasn't been very good despite having a list of great champions over the past year. I'd keep the title on Andrade through Mania and let Lee show up and win the title the night after Mania on Raw. I actually think that's a better card, primarily because Balor shouldn't lose to Lee right now but shouldn't win that title, either. Balor vs Cole vs Dream Lee vs Dijak Ciampa vs Gargano Nox vs Kai Bros vs UE That's a great card imo. Lots of rematches but NXT can get away with it. Especially since Ciampa vs Gargano is going to be a hug fest when it's over, the women will likely have a gimmick, and Lee vs Dijak would likely feature a title change if it gets repeated. I'd probably be in favor of seeing Bros vs UE be a gimmick match, too, since that will be the blowoff for those two teams. Maybe do a cage for the women, ladders for the tag teams, and 2 out of 3 for Dijak and Lee or a 30 min iron man.

TakeOver was okay.
Lee/DD was alright, probably their worst match together I think. It felt sloppy but I really like how they did the finish.
Kai/Nox was decent. A good street fight with some decent, albeit not subtle, story telling. The table botch was a shame but I actually thought it looked more brutal.
Bàlor/Gargano was alright. I liked their clear desire to keep the match in the ring and the technical stuff they did with working body parts. It didn't pop or particularly stand out to me from the usual TakeOver match though.
Belair/Ripley was again alright. A fine match I can't find anything particularly bad or great about. Surprised to hear fans going strongly for Belair considering the great way they recently put over Ripley. I like what they're doing with Charlotte too.
Really enjoyed the tag match. My match of the night. Lots of creativity and good spots that weren't too contrived. I'm still not a Pete Dunne fan but everyone else looked great.
Main event is standard Adam Cole stuff. Big moves and near falls. Hate that they're going back to the well but I'll reserve judgment.
All in all, there are certainly better and worse shows out there. A middling TakeOver.

I certainly don’t have an issue with Dream challenging Cole, I just wouldn’t want to see him take the title right away. And as you said about Keith Lee, if Bálor is in the NXT Title match, then he’s kinda hanging without a clear opponent. Bálor would be a great opponent for him, but I agree with you that Finn should neither lose or win lol. Could use Roddy in a pinch though, or Damian Priest. Having Dunne and Riddle as a tag team takes away worthy singles options as well, but at the same time the tag division is super weak. But they’re able to hide it extremely well. I suppose ultimately I might have to concede that having Cole/Dream and Lee/Bálor would help make the card be as good as it could be.. I just want Cole/Bálor.
