How hyped are you about this weeks reveals? Where’s your confidence level in terms of what you think the fan response will be lol?

Long time lurker, I decided to finally enter the ring and join the fray. I have been followed this thread since it began and would just like to say thanks for engaging with the fan base and giving these boards some life again. From what I have seen you have had a positive impact on the community (which is greatly needed as these boards can get quite toxic) and have helped bring about some positive changes in the line- I hope your influence will extend into the distribution side of things as the difficulty in finding these great figures is my biggest beef with this product and has me on the verge of quitting. Now on to the questions: 1- Will the new Legends line 2.0 be available to international collectors or is this another USA exclusive product?! Specifically I would like to know about Canada- has any retailer picked up this line and if not will it be made available online for those outside the USA?! 2- Are design related questions allowed? 3- How many people make up Mattel's 'design team'?! The reason I ask is because I wanted to know if someone from team might be willing to come on and answer design related questions or if perhaps you could pass those questions on to them and then post back their reply if they don't want to come on the boards. I understand that the head designer has a strained relationship with this board which is why I was hoping someone else might be willing to answer some questions. 4- Why has distribution of the WWE line gotten so terrible the last few years (from what I have seen, other Mattel products do not seem to be suffering from the same problem) and is anything being done to improve availability of these figures be it in store or online?! I have been collecting since 2014 and up until recently I was able to find most of the figures I was interested in quite easily but the last few years it has been very difficult and has turned me off collecting. 5- Will this line be continuing on beyond 2021- there has been no word on a renewal and we are now less then 18 months away from when the current contract is set to expire.
Thanks.
Appreciate the kind words. I really want this hobby to be as fun as possible for all involved and these interactions are an important part of that. Legends International Distribution - while I don’t have concrete info on specific countries, several were interested and some did pick up the line. Design questions - yeah of course. While I can’t answer all of them since I simply don’t know why the designers may make some of their decision, I’ll answer whatever I have clarity on. Design team participation - honestly, 99% of the design questions would be for Bill and he’s not coming back. I won’t be passing on questions to him either because if he wanted to answer them, he’d simply return. It’s a bummer he left the forums but I witnessed it happening at the time and can’t really blame him for stepping away. Distribution - I think you’re just seeing the evolution of retail as retailers adjust how they handle inventory. Keep in mind toy companies provide product to retailers and the retailers then distribute to their individual locations. I think the real solve here for is toy companies expanding online availability, which you’re already seeing, and consumers adapting to buying online more. Beyond 2021 - That info/announcement will come from WWE and Mattel when they’re ready.

I think there’s something for everyone with the reveals, whether you’re a NXT, main roster, female talent or Legends collector. And if you don’t see a specific talent or look you were hoping for, it doesn’t mean it’s off the table and won’t be coming down the road.

Could we see another Lacey evans elite with a fan and her lace it up outfit she’s wearing now? Why haven’t we seen an updated Sonya deville this year when her and Mandy have had one of the most talked about storylines on TV? Is Corey Graves in wrestling gear a possibility? What’s the status of including certain announcers in the line like Bryon Saxton, Tom Phillips, Jojo? Updated Lacey - possibly in time Updated Sonya - you’re talking about a recent storyline. It takes roughly a year to get a figure out representing what you’re seeing on TV right now. Flashback Corey - not sure. Wouldn’t know unless it was presented to licensor. Announcers - not all talent are available to us. If any announcers are available, we’ll do our best to work them into the line somewhere as we’ve done in the past. Why do you humor him when he asks the exact same questions over and over?

Thanks very much for replying to my questions.
A few follow-ups:
Legends line- Do you know when series 1 will be hitting stores, even a rough estimate? Do you think contacting Toys R Us to inquire about this line would help at all?!
Design questions- The question I had is why do elite figures not come with double jointed elbows? This is my first foray into the world of articulated action figures (I had a few LJN and Hasbro figs as a kid but these are day and night difference compared to those) The current design of these figures limits the poseability of them IMO, certain poses and/or moves are not possible due to most figures having the same bicep part which does not allow the arm to bend in very far (perfect example of this is Jimmy Hart- the megaphone sits like 5 inches away from his mouth because that is as far as the arm bends inward, this really irks me, not to mention the figure doesn't look right with such a gap). This is the reason why I was hoping someone from the design team could provide an answer- why did they decide to go with double jointed knees over double jointed elbows?! The double jointed knees do not offer much IMO while the double jointed elbows would expand the functionality of the figure significantly. Is the omission of double jointed elbows a cost issue or an intentional decision made by Bill to get people to buy the new Ultimate Edition figures which have added articulation?!
Regarding Bill, are you saying that he has total say over all design related decisions, no one else has any input or power to overrule his decisions?!
Distribution- I have not seen any increased online availability of this product here in Canada, I assume you are just talking about the USA?! Here, Walmart & Toys R Us rarely put new product on their website, usually only after it has sold through in stores. Amazon.ca is not much better, it's actually worse than the US service- new product is few and far between on there which is quite a disappointment as it could have been another viable alternative to retail to find these products. I wish Ringside would consider opening up a Canadian operation- perhaps the cost is too high?!
A final question, if I may- why have you not released any other Jimmy Hart figures?! He was very a prominent figure in the Golden era that I grew up watching and is up there with Bobby Heenan in popularity IMO. I just find it strange that you have released 3 Heenan figures and 3 Miss Elizabeth figures yet only 1 Jimmy Hart figure?! Did the figure you made sell terribly or was he off limits to you due to his close friendship with Hulk Hogan (who had been blacklisted by WWE for the past few years)?!
Thanks again for taking the time to answer my questions, I look forward to the Comic Con reveals over the next week- I hope I will be able to check off some of the figures from my wish list.

Beyond 2021 - That info/announcement will come from WWE and Mattel when they’re ready. I dont mind buying online but online pricing has been crazy for popular figures lately. Not everyone can afford $35-$40 + shipping for a $20 figure, but thats what you get online unless you get lucky on amazon or something. Every other online retailer has raised prices on popular figures too (and i get why), it just hard for some people. I get what the person is saying though I dont see these issues with Barbie at retail yet every peg in every retail store only seems to have AJ top picks or Matt Hardy Wrestlemania figure and only seems to get one case of an elite set never to be received again. I know Mattel has said this is a retail store issue, but why are retail stores having these issues that in prior years they have not, and is Mattel worried about it considering the impact it has on the product line.

For AFA: 1. What happened with the Elite Legends 7 pre-order launch getting botched? 2. You mentioned that if this does well, you can convince the powers that be to do this more often. Well, the announced pre-orders did sell out. People did as you asked them to do. Is this a good sign for the future for announcing pre-order launch dates online ahead of time? 3. If it happens again, do you think it will go more smoothly? IE launch will go off on the announced date as planned?

1. Is there for sure going to be a running change on the E77 Rick Rude Chase ?
2. Is Legends 8 Jake Roberts still good to go ?
Thanks 🤘🏻😎

I have two questions
- if you had the chance to make any elite of a wrestler who’s not signed to a legends deal or for whatever reason who would that wrestler be and what attire
- what would your dream elite wave look like it can be anyone from WCW, TNA, ECW, ROH, and NJPW
Excited to see your answers

I know his upcoming elite is just now getting out, but could we possibly get Matt Riddle in his Yankees tribute attire in an elite? Also, will his upcoming elite come with a jacket?

Is there a reason why the shorter boots with long songs on Mr T in the render wasn’t used? I honestly don’t know why there was a change. When I say some questions are straight up for Design it’s because I’m not copied on every single communication they have. I didn’t see that the boots were longer until it was too late to attempt to change them. There must’ve been a reason.
