what type of materials are you using? the etching looks a little rough, but at that small of a scale I imagine the etchings and cuts would be extremely difficult with anything that isn't a softer metal like sheet aluminum.
There's a foil vinyl that exists for sign making that I'd suggest looking into. It has the same shine as metals, while being a soft and shiny material. I'd say to use it as your plating with your details/paints/inks over the top of a base plate, so your metals don't have to be exact. You're going to be looking for Oracal brand, 641 series in a 091M.

Thanks for the input! I'm currently working with .32 gauge brass for the gold plates and .32 aluminum for silver.
I was using a dremel with an engraving bit and holding it like a pencil which made control a little messy. I've since purchased a pen sized diamond engraver, and have done some ECW belts that are much more detailed. I'll upload some pictures when I get home.
