There are so many questions about this, 2001 was the toughest year in Nascar as Dale Earnhardt passed away as he crashed in turn 4 with Ken Schrader, and i'll never forget the words Mike Helton said about Dale, it was the worst day of Nascar history, considering that Dale's buddy and the man he hired to drive the #15 Napa Car Michael Waltrip ended his 463-career drought by finally winning a Winston Cup Race, but I've always wondered what if Dale Earnhardt was still alive?. Would have he captured Championships?. Would have he got more wins in 2001?, Would have we won the Daytona 500 again?. Would have he retired in 2005?. Would have he been successful as a car owner?.

I believe he would have retired by 2003 or 2004. Maybe won 2 more restrictor plate races. DEI would be a powerhouse though, and Dale JRs career would have gone much differently.

He probably would have retired as a driver and became an announcer

He probably would have retired as a driver and became an announcer Dale wasnt as articulate as someone like Gordon is so I really couldnt see him in the booth plus he already had DEI. Dale Jr sounds like a buffoon honestly so who knows. I think Dale would have retired by 2005 and would have been running DEI. Obviously Dale Jr would have manned one of his cars. I honestly could see Tony Stewart manning one until the Haas deal arrived.

We wouldn't have gotten some great "Laugh and you go to hell" videos.

Dale Jr and Steve Park would have become the dominant duo in the Cup series for 10+ years

I know a principal that has been retiring for a decade.
