Oh boy. Here comes the start of many "Punk to AEW" threads.
I just hope it was Punk having a bit of fun for sh*ts & giggles.

If it was really CM Punk, why wear a mask?

If it was really CM Punk, why wear a mask? I think it was intended to draw speculation by having a GTS delivered but instead was just straight up spoiled to the world

I wouldn't MIND seeing CM Punk in AEW because I mean, it'd make things a lot more interesting. You get name recognition. I want everyone to eat at the wrestling table. I want us to be entering a wonderful time in wrestling where WWE steps it's game up again, NJPW stays awesome, AEW does well (please don't do the "come out and shoot on WWE all the time),ROH does well, TNA stays around so people can still make a living wrestling. I want all the choices.

He was probably just doing it for his close friends/to get a rise outta people. I don’t think he’d do it for friends. He’s had 5 years to just “do it for his close friends” so it only makes sense that since UFC didn’t work out and he more than likely would not be getting a fight, for him to instead finally suck up his pride and return to wrestling. You can only deny a return and stay away for so long. Flair wanted that final send off by Shawn but what happened? He was wrestling not even a year later in TNA once his contract expired. Look at Shawn too, he finally gave in and just had to do one more match. The guys who are truly passionate about it just can’t stay retired, no matter how much they say they don’t wanna do it.

If it was really CM Punk, why wear a mask? Shortly after CM Punk quit the WWE, he said he would only be interested in going back to wrestling at an indy show and under a mask, so I guess he called his shot.

He did it for Ace Steele. Punk isn’t returning to wrestling... just yet.
But clearly, PUNK TO AEW CONFIRMED!

I wish people could just take things at face value. If Punk never wrestles another match, that's his right. But with some of the wrestling related posts on social media and this appearance, he at least doesn't seem to totally want to distance himself from that part of his life anymore.
The guy clearly absolutely loved pro wrestling. His experiences with WWE clearly soured him on the entire business, and it has to take a lot to drive that kind of passion out of someone. If he's found some kind of balance, I'm happy for him.

cool to see him back in a ring, even if it’s a one off for a buddy.
but yeah, if punk was to go to AEW that would be huge. obviously the offers have been made.

Passion as in MONEY? Money runs out... and as a great man one said "EVERYONE HAS A PRICE LOL!" Also he looked like he hasn't squat in quite a long time, very shakey!!!

Someone reported that this isn't first time Punk has even done this, say he's done it "like 3 or 4 times" since 2015 or something. Supposedly it was going to be part of something Cabana was filming, but got cut out after they had their falling out. So, take that for what it's worth. Meltzer, I think, said that Punk was Tony Khan's first choice for starting a new company with. We know he's friends with the Young Bucks, so you know they'd have asked him about AEW, so either he will or he won't. I'd venture to say no he won't.

So... Is Punk actually Bernard the Business Bear? Or was he revealed to be someone else already?
