I'm surprised by what MWFP said about this set - and I love their show. Maybe their Facebook group has a different reaction, but I'd want to know what the objections were. I hope the sales numbers show they're wrong Well they did say the Bulldog isn't that great looking which most seem to agree with. Just hate the mold in general, maybe it could work for a 92 Warrior in singlet though? Since he was so skinny, plus with more deco it hides how crappy the mold is. They like the set in general, and don't mind the soft goods on Yankem, but I'd much prefer molded shirt, but for saving money I know why they didn't mold it. It does bug me when they site Berzerker and Taker having soft goods, I don't think they looked good though like that, and my argument is, that those were the lean years when they were cutting corners. Had those figures been made in S1-S4 they'd of been fully molded. Or in the case of Taker they'd of made a new mold for a different body type.

I love retros and I’m buying for sure, but this set blows. Alundra is pretty cool, the colors are awesome. Shawn looks better than the first one, but I’m not really digging it. He was already in red last time. Issac Yankem and Bulldog are ok, but who cares? And the cloth shirt looks pretty bad.
Ive seen some talk on here discussing when the new generation era began and I have the answer. When wrestling died the first time.
I want them to keep on going with pre hasbro era guys if they’re not going to give us the right guys from the hasbro era.
Keeping in mind that some of the guys we want aren’t currently under deals (macho man, Hercules, Dino, Bad News, Haku, among others), they can still do some good ones.
Mega Maniacs Brutus - ridiculous this hasn’t been done yet. Tatanka - wasn’t it said that his hasbro was supposed to have long tights and be a jumper? I’d like to see that with white long tights from around the time he debuted. Heel Sgt. Slaughter Gorilla Monsoon - we just saw the new elite, so we know they have his rights.
And because I’m bored, here’s some pre hasbro guys they have the rights to make -
Honky Tonk Man - I love the original but give us one without the jumpsuit. I want him in red tights. Ricky Steamboat - give me the WM 3 look. Harley Race George Steele

I think my ring shipped. Got a notice from FedEx but nothing yet from Mattel. are you in the US? I remember that they seemed to ship out all US orders first, and then do international
makes me wonder if the international shipping will start in a couple of weeks if the US orders are going out now

Ricky Steamboat - give me the WM 3 look. Harley Race George Steele I agree with all those, plus a few more I think they have access to: Heel Jake from late 91. Warrior from 92, maybe in a singlet, but I'd prefer the purple trunks from Mania 8. Rick Rude, preferably with short hair. Bob Backlund, preferably blue trunks, heel 94.

I checked the order for my rings and it says preparing for shipping, looks like they could be starting to ship them.

Kinda bummed too. Up until DX, I was a retro Hasbro completionist. Why is an Attitude Era stable in there?! While I bought the NWO set (hard to pass up anything Hulkster), but a non-Hasbro era stable from another company?! So thanks to the DX set, it makes it an easy decision to pass on this latest 4-pack, not a single one of them are worth it.

Love that idea for Honky Tonk Man in red tights. Throw in King Harley, WM 3 Steamboat, and Heenan... that's a bad ass Mania 3 set. Maybe have Jake as an alternate (even though I know we'd all rather have heel Jake with a cobra)

Just got my ring. I had no idea what it was until I opened it LOL.
When I get it put together I'll do some pics. I actually bought it to display Superstars figures.... I mean it's practically the same scale.

John Cena, Roman Reigns, Brock Lesnar and Kevin Owens were in series 1. Sting, Kane, The Rock, Stone Cold and Mankind were in series 2. It seems very silly to start REEEEEEEing in 2024 that they are making figures of wrestlers from outside of the 1989-1994 WWF period.

I get how it comes across as twisted logic, but back then the series was finite, so easy to have the first offerings and leave it at that. And I got back into collecting in 2020, a full year after series 10. Now that I am back in the game hardcore, I have refined my approach and now see that the 90% of offerings that are outside of the Hasbro window, now seem silly. If that makes sense, it does to me!!!

It's different, because when the series came back, Steve said they would focus on the legends people wanted -- so not the same to say "well, they made Cena..."

Was unaware of that, I didn't find this board (and Steve) until summer 2022.

I wanted the New Age Outlaws. I guess I’m the outlier. I mean, this is the retro line. Their debut was like 97-ish, IIRC. I don’t ever remember reading that the retro line would only cover a specific era. We’re getting the stars of yesteryear. No current acts since the relaunch. Seems like anything from the past is fair game.

Glad I read this thread because I was expecting a different package on Monday and now I realize it’s my rings from Mattel!
Quite the shipping day expected on Monday now: Todd Pettengill, 2 Hasbro/Retro scaled playsets, and now the rings!

And they have. Thing is, people don’t all want the same legends.
