Anyone else thinks the Diesel retro looks off, especially facial likeness? Too cartoonish/generic, no details. Sunglasses obscure any likeness. 94 champ Diesel would have been better than 93 mullet. The cartoonish likeness is more Hasbro-esque than the rest of the line, so if anything its the other figures that should look off, not this one. Also, this is the exact Diesel I wanted. No white tank top, no flowing locks. I wanted mullet, shades, all-black Diesel. I agree. At first I was like "eh, pretty Fake Diesel looking." Now that I have it in hand, and when you compare it to the Hasbro art, I think it's amazing. I also tried the Elite Diesel heads on it, and I don't like the way they look compared to the head we got. I do wish they would have gone with the open mouth/screaming look to perfectly match the Hasbro art, but beggars and what not. My only other knock would be I wish the tassels ran all the way up but that's not a big deal to me since we got them at the bottom. Regardless, the card art is amazing and it's incredible we finally got Diesel. I think it perfectly fits the Hasbro line. I only feel that way about Taker, Goldust and Diesel so far. Those are my very favorite of this Retro line.

They definitely need to start using the punch-action mold more, but I love this mold on Diesel.

I think those are the ones that come closest to the Hasbro timeline. And I guess Flair, but he's really NWA period.

I’d love for them to do another one though because that head is woof. I went with the 2010 head and like it a ton but I want a 96-98 HBK. Hopefully we get Double J and Mabel shown at SDCC too.

Yeah I love the HBK kick action too. I’m hoping they do a 93-96 (somewhere in this era!) HBK with the same action but with tights & boots - or even a Ziggler that could be customised in to HBK. And this would also open up customs of other wrestlers who used the suoerkick/thrust kick like Chris Adams & Haku (with modded feet). I love my hasbros/retros most when their action mimics their finisher!

Blarg! Was stoked when Retro 8 Hardy & Ryder were on Target's site earlier this week (very briefly), and I was able to successfully order one of each! They came today, and the box was so full of those bagged-air packing pillows, that both cards were bent nearly into a "U" shape.

Sorry to hear that. Yep, Target and a lot of online retailers don't care about packing orders, just filling them. If you open your packages, not a big deal. I collect both moc and loose, so it does suck getting an order like you did.

Unfortunately the cardbacks aren't heavy stock like the Hasbro figures. So they're coming out of cases with dings and bends already and then when they're getting shipped as singles they're susceptible to even more damage. I ordered four Diesel figures from Ringside and only felt one of them was clean to keep as a MOC, which I'm going to try and get signed at some point. Just been the nature of these figures to this point in my experience.

You think Mattel would upgrade the cardboard since they are 10 series in. Many, many collector's have expressed their disgust at the dollar store quality packaging.

Received series 9 yesterday - very cool to have Goldust at long last, and awesome to have the “prototype” Macho Man (though the boots do look even more wrong in person ). Randy Orton’s tattoos look pretty good to me, and whilst I know he shouldn’t be wearing a t-shirt, I do love the Samoa Joe figure, it’s a good action. And now the countdown to series 10 starts...

I just got series 10... I was pumped for Diesel... but he’s just too big... his head is massive and he towers over Undertaker, Kane and Braun...on his own he looks great but with all the others... he just looks too big for me.

Just opened my S10 order. Got total of 12 figs, and all were in decent shape packaging wise. I mean good for the cheapness of the cardbacks. Happy with Diesel, could have been better if molded the singlet and added a vest maybe. But happy to have him nonetheless.
Really hoping we see good news for the future of the line at SDCC. Ryder and Hawkins did seem optimistic about it in this week's show.

The problem that has existed is that they stock too many from one series and they rot on pegs for 1-2 years, meanwhile the series that people would love to buy never appears in most stores, forcing those that want them to pay $25-65 MOC off ebay. The people are there cash on-hand. So, to stop making them is definitely not the solution. Figuring out how to evenly flow these things on to store shelves is where they should be focused IMO.

Thanks!

It all boils down to that dirty D word for all lines - Distribution ! Mattel reps do service stores from time to time & read social media. Look into it & fix it, sheesh !

I don't know what other targets look like, but mine hasn't had any retros in over 2 months now. They got a bunch of S7 that they actually sold through and now peg has been empty. I don't get why they havn't gotten, 8 or 9 instock. Again, people want to buy these like you say, but only every 3rd or 4th wave has been readily available at retail. The Walmart I check once in a blue moon still had a bunch of S7 last I saw. I don't know if Walmart thought they would sell the same quantities when they were exclusive to them or what? But, now that Target and online sellers have them, that means way less people are going to lower themselves to go to Walmart to buy them.

Within 45 minutes of me: Targets- one has a couple Series 7 stragglers & the other is sold out. 3 Walmarts: one did not recarry the figures since series one, the other 2 have plenty of Series 7. Seriously Mattel, just make the line available for purchase through online store like Ringside. We, the consumers will not be to blame when the line fails.

It’s around the 33 minute mark. Good back and forth. Nothing concrete, but they did mention hopefully seeing 11 and 12 at SDCC.
