My only issue with US store exclusives is the fear that they won’t make it over to the UK stores for geeks like me to get at (the Retros are basically online exclusives anyway). But if Mattel commit to offering such store exclusives to at least one store in larger international territory then I’m all in favour of exclusive Retros.
What I don’t want to get into is having to import from eBay scalpers, particularly given the ludicrously low EU import tariff threshold that makes bringing things in from the US extra expensive - we already got burned on the Roman figure that was never released here, and I know collectors of the main lines have had issues with exclusives as well.

At this point I’m hoping for one thing and one thing only... Series 11. This is the first time I can remember that we have a significant stalemate in the line in terms of knowledge of the future. We know what’s coming through Series 10, which - amazingly - should hit Ringside within the next 30 days. Beyond Series 10, there’s nothing out there indicating a definitive future.
Even when we hit the Series 3 lull and the ambiguous release period that impacted Series 4-6, there was always some knowledge of that next lineup or two waiting in the wings. Whether it be a reveal at a previous show like SDCC or Axxess, or some Brickseek listings that @chicago dug up... to a degree we always had some idea what was next.
As a collector that was brought back into the game by the Retro line, I really hope we see 11 and beyond.

Agreed; basically all we have to go on is Bill answering like one or maybe two Retro questions at Mania like there was at least a future in the line. I think we’re looking at another long delay until series 11 is released (probably until next year) but that the line will continue - it would mean a hell of a lot to have Bill or Steve confirm the line isn’t dead on Twitter or something.

Thing is the line shouldn't be dead, and the only reason it would have a death is because Mattel themselves tripped over their over feet to get the right figures out to our local stores, while keeping the same figures to rot on our pegs for 2 years. While at the same time, leaving us at the mercy of Ebay vulchars and websites that charge an extra $8 (plus shipping) on top of what they are actually worth.
That's the sad part. The fans of this line are there with two empty hands waiting, but since 2017, this has been one big clown show.

The line will continue. We will see new figures at Sdcc. We might have to wait a bit to purchase them though. 2018 we got 3,4,5 and 6. 2019 we have 7,8,9 and soon 10. Looks like 4 sets a year. So we might be waiting on series 11 for awhile just like how series 7 took forever to come out.

I hope we see more at SDCC, but hope it isn't until next year for release. I hope we see some new molds too, it's getting VERY repetitive with the body styles. And, I hope they don't start any kind of store exclusives! RSC would be great, but don't put us to the mercy of the retailers actually stocking more than every 3rd series.

I could see an online exclusive, but not an in store. There are enough distribution issues with normal lines. Adding exclusives will just muddy up the water that much more.

I'm somewhat nervous about the future of the line. But lets just hope they are working on all new stuff, new molds and maybe even tag teams.

I don’t know if this is a bad sign for the line but Kmart website has the retro ring on clearance for $14

Yeah, I'm not worried about the future of the line... figures seem to be released quite regularly now - and (as the guy above noted) they are often in the RSC Top 10 best-selling figures. Heck, a few weeks ago, Retros actually made up HALF of the Top 10 list for 2 weeks running.

Why isn’t Samoa Joe available again on RSC? Was he short packed or something? 🤔

Different from retail I'd imagine. But, then again, isn't a lot of retail toy sales to older collectors too I thought Ryder and Hawkins said on their recent show? Guessing it's shifting that way because kids really aren't playing with toys much anymore.

The problem for us is like you said, ebay scalpers. I see pics on Reddit and Twitter of idiots who just hit their local Target and bought all of the 3 pr 4 exclusives they had. I HATE people like that. They ruin the fun for everyone else who likes hunting for them.

As a collector that was brought back into the game by the Retro line, I really hope we see 11 and beyond. To be fair, the Series 10 just got announced a month ago and is still on pre-order (as you obviously know). I didnt pay much attention of what was next until recently, but is it normal for them to announce 2 or 3 series' at once? Or do they usually announce them every few weeks? Just wondering why you think there could be a pause in the Retro line. I recently saw a Q&A video of the guy from Mattel saying they were talking about bringing female wrestlers to the line. So i doubt there's any talk of stopping it. Plus, it seems to be one of their more popular lines. But he also mentioned distribution problems. I think it's obvious that stores cant keep up with the constant release of series after series of this line every 2-3 months. That said, it's not a bad thing that some of the retro figures are really hard to get. That just makes them more valuable to those of us who have them in the future.

Mattel is well aware of the store distribution problems (lol obviously), i say that because they aren't that dumb as to say "Hey! Even though they might not be in stores, lets make a Walmart exclusive!" Plus, dont they need to make a deal of some sort with the store for exclusives?

Why isn’t Samoa Joe available again on RSC? Was he short packed or something? 🤔 I was wondering the same thing for awhile. He sold out super fast and then no back order either. I did see him pop up on RSC a couple weeks ago for a few hours. They must have found a hidden case of him. He's gonna be a hard one to find in a few months. Already selling for $40-$60 on ebay.
