YES! Hopefully Ottawa can take game 4 without him in the line up, then again, in the last series, the red wings didn't win the game Pronger was suspended for It's funny, after watching game 4 it's almost like they play better without him, but they couldn't have got to where they are now without him...

How are the Ducks a disgrace to Hockey? Do you actually have sound reasoning or is it like every other member who just spouts out ultra-opinionated nonsense from their asses? Explain to me why I would want to root for teams like the Ducks, Lightning, and Hurricanes to win the Stanley Cup. These are all expansion teams who shouldn't even be part of the NHL, as far as I'm concerned. Not that I know many hockey fans, but when I've talked to a few people, they told me they're rooting for the Ducks to win the Cup "so they could keep it in the US." How ridiculous is that? This is Canada's game that the US has RUINED, but I'm supposed to root for the Ducks just because they're a US team? The only teams in hockey I care about are the Original 6, plus a few select others, and all Canada teams. I think the NHL should cut the league down and make it 20 teams to be honest. It would make the game much more exciting and meaningful so you wouldn't have these ridiculous towns like Nashville holding hockey games that nobody shows up for. The Ottawa Senators were started up one year before The Mighty Ducks of Anaheim, so by your own argument, you should not root for them because they are a good for nothing expansion team. The Vancouver Canucks were also an expansion team that started in 1970, Canadian or not they were not at all part of hockey's originals. Likewise the Edmonton Oilers and the Atlanta Flames started in 1972 as expansion teams. The Oilers actually began their life as a franchise of the World Hockey Association... that's pretty damn fra from the original six! And of course in 1980 the Flames moved from the "hockey ruining" USA to Calgary, Alberta, Canada where they experienced much success (including a Stanley Cup) despite their name having no real significance to their location (unlike Sherman burning Atlanta to the ground in the American Civil War). So if you root for the Flames, you're really rooting for an American inspired team and you are a hypocrite. Clearly hockey is not "Canada's game" or else the league would never have been built between our two nations and 4 of the original 6 teams wouldn't be in the US. I understand your wanting to root for those 6 teams and even appreciating Canada's love of the game that clearly wanes America's (for the most part), but to spit all over every expansion team is just silly. If not for expansion teams the NHL would have died long ago as it would have remained a Northeastern North American sport. It would be on par with Lacrosse and Curling. Should Phoenix, Arizona, a city that has probably never seen snow, have a hockey team? Probably not. But if the team becomes a success, good for them (though I would have preferred they remained in Winnipeg). I honestly question some cities having teams due to their climate having negative effects on the ice, but in cities like Tampa Bay, Dallas, and Anaheim it has worked for them. And you can't argue that Denver has embraced their team far more than Quebec City did when they had the Nordiques (or else they would still have a team).

I guess you didn't read the part where I said I root for ALL Canadian hockey teams. Comparing expansion teams like Ottawa to Atlanta or Phoenix is an absolute joke. I'm not going by any official statistic when I say this, but every hockey game I watch in Canada is a sellout, regardless of who is playing. Then you have teams like Atlanta and New Jersey who can't even sell out games in the playoffs. I'm pretty sure all the Canadian teams in the playoffs this year sold out all their games. Not to mention the fact that even if they didn't, their crowd was 100x more into the game than other teams.
I'm not saying all expansion teams are bad...just a majority of them. Some expansion teams are worth watching and can draw, but I still believe the NHL is way too crowded now with all these unecessary teams.
Sorry, but no matter what you say, I'm not going to root for these pansy teams like the Ducks to win the Stanle Cup unless Emilio Estevez is behind their bench and they sign a goltender named Goldberg.

I did read the part where you root for all Canadian teams, hence why I focused on Canadian expansion teams. Yes, I will compare Ottawa to US expansion teams because the Senators were THE WORST expansion team in NHL history for the first 5 years of their existence. Those were not arena sellout years either to contradict your statement.
Hell, if Winnipeg and Quebec City had sellout arenas every game their teams wouldn't have left.
BTW, they are no longer owned by Disney nor do they use the term "Mighty." They are just the Anaheim Ducks. If you are going to make fun of their origins, at least have the decency to include the cartoon of anthropomorphic ducks fighting evil space aliens and playing hockey on the side, with their leader voiced by then-goalie Guy Hebert! That's some quality television.

Y'know.. I consider Ottawa a better hockey city than the likes of Atlanta, Nashville, Anaheim, etc., naturally just because they're Canadian, but they're the worst Canadian hockey city. I'd call a handful of U.S. teams better hockey cities than Ottawa. Minnesota, Buffalo, Detroit, NYI, NYR, Boston, Chicago, Philadelphia..

Well, if you're going to lose a game 5, might as well lose it in a blow out. I'm just happy the sens got to the cup final and seeing the whole city cheer on the team was nice to see. It sucks we didn't win the cup, but I'm happy we got to the final. The ducks were just way too much and such an awesome team they put together, congrates to them.

I wish the crowd would be quackin' away in the final minutes of the game...
But you know what? I'm glad for both teams, actually four teams *Detroit, Buffalo, Ottawa, and Anaheim*... That was the best top four teams battling it out for the biggest prize in NHL... I woulda been fine with any of those teams winning the Cup.
Congrats, Ducks..
Ottawa got further than ever, can't win them all.
As for Alfie? Im gonna go on a limb and say that he carried Ottawa on his back..

As for Alfie? Im gonna go on a limb and say that he carried Ottawa on his back.. Last year he was the goat in the playoffs, this year, ya, he carried the team. Now, which of the three remaining Canadian teams go the cup final next year? Vancouver, Montreal or Toronto?

The fact that Anaheim won is awesome, but what's even better is that Chris Phillips had the game-winning goal.
What a crazy ass game.
So according to the last three Cup Finals, next years Final will be Toronto/Montreal/Vancouver losing to a team that really doesn't deserve to be in the league. Nashville? Atlanta? Phoenix? It's a crap shoot.
