Also, when my mother had her first cancer diagnosis in 1978. It was decided that my dad wouldn't be able to raise 5 kids by himself and that if she didn't make it, we'd have to go live with our godparents.
Scary stuff to have on your mind when you're an 8 year old. It ended up giving me an ulcer.

Wait, Childhood ends?!?!?!?!?!
But honestly, i would say around the end of 2013 when i was 15. During the Christmas School holidays (Australia) playing GTA with friends and them talking about taking Year 10 (2014) seriously so that they can make it into the extended part of the School and do the HSC for Year 11/12. I was never an academic so i cared less about School and just tagged along (ended up getting into the same School as them and did the HSC)
So 2014 was a real eye opener for me, i was changing as a person, both mentally and physically, it was the first year i actually talked to a girl so it opened up that part of life with me ultimately finding out life isn't fair sometimes. Then towards the middle-end of the year, thinking about moving on to Year 11/12, not being able to play games often anymore and ultimately having to start preparing to be independent.
The end of 2014 during the Christmas School Holidays again, it kind of felt like the send off for being a "Kid", friends and i were getting out our last weeks of fun with beach time, video games, sleeping over etc... Before having to really focus on the final 2 School years, managing money, buying cars and sorting out University plans (That didn't relate to me though, UNI's can kiss my ass) When i think back to it, it really makes me appreciate 2014 even more.

Probably 15-16. Sexual desires and getting a job really made me realize How serious life really is.

9/11. So I was almost 15.
I remember that being the first time I asked my parents what was going to happen and I remember them saying that they didn't know. It was more the way they said it. It was the first time I could remember where they didn't have the answers to my questions and that "security blanket" seemed gone.

I was able to comprehend what was happening, but it wasn't until I was older that I understood the forever impact that day had on the entire globe, even countries we'd consider non friendly to us like China and Russia being so shocked and immediately stepping up to help if needed, so it was not just the US who felt that impact. Think that's because that's not something that anyone could have imagined happening in the US, on our own soil.

I really never felt like a child. I grew up an autodidact, and didn't attend school. A lot of those years weren't ripped from me, but I deprived myself in ways I won't get back.
I stopped feeling like a kid entirely around the new millennium probably.

I knew my childhood was over when I graduated from the sixth grade. A few months later, the 9/11 Terror Attacks took place. I can't describe the moment I heard and felt the impact both planes hitting the towers. The two things that is etched in my mind is hearing one of my classmates saying "what the **** was that?" and my seventh grade homeroom teacher getting a phone call on his cell saying "oh ****" in a low voice. From there, I told myself life is really serious and it is no fun and games. It is hard to fathom we are rapidly approaching the 20th anniversary of the 9/11 Terror Attacks.

The moment I learned I was going to die. Was that before you decided you wanted to become a wrestler?😂
