Oh goodie. Another fed where I can watch Booker T wrestle against Billy Gunn and a bunch of other rejects from WWE and TNA run around and wrestle. Even if Jericho was dumb enough to be a part of this it would still fail. Even if they signed Punk! It would still fail. Nobody can and will never touch Vince.

It would take years for them to slowly build a fan base and a name, and then sign some big name WWE talent in order to be real competition.
What gave WCW their shot was because they had a loyal fan base to begin with. They were the NWA, JCP, and had that Saturday night timeslot that had been there for decades.
They weren't starting from scratch. Turner came in with his money and then they signed the biggest star in the sports history.
Hogan legitimized them plus the other old WWF guys and they were off and running. Obviously we know how it all ended primarily due to corporate mergers, no leadership, and poor spending.
Khan would have to be in it for the long haul, willing to lose some money, a loyal tv partner, and then who knows a decade from now.
It's kinda like these other football leagues taking on the NFL, not as high of a mountain, but still a difficult one at this point.

These guys sold 11 thousand tickets in 30 minutes. They're the primary reason MSG is sold out for Mania weekend. They got t-shirts inside Hot Topic and they outsell everything WWE has on the shelf next to their merchandise. They have a successful Youtube show that's consistently more entertaining than WWE has been in years. Keep telling the Young Bucks what they can and can't do and they're going to keep jamming that sh*t down your throat.
Most of you don't even like WWE. You should absolutely want another viable alternative to WWE programming. Whether you watch the new promotion or not, it's good for wrestling.
Also, giants of industry fall all of the time. Barnum & Bailey Circus? Defunct. ToysRus? Bankrupt. Kodak? Bye Felicia. Stop acting like the world doesn't change. Vince's product is as susceptible to the declines of a product lifecycle as any other product. When you become complacent, when you don't evolve, you die. The last time Vince evolved was in 1997 and he's been riding the wave into the beach for more than 20 years.
Nobody is saying this is going to beat WWE on night one, but there is a demand for more pro wrestling in the market, better pro wrestling. That's reflective by the fact most of you don't even watch anymore or if you do you largely do it to complain, present company included. Maybe let the promotion actually materialize before running it into the ground...

This will affect ROH & TNA long before it is even on WWE's radar. This, Unfortunately. Every promotion outside of the WWE sphere of influence will feel the heat long looonnnngggggg before WWE ever does WWE doesn’t feel the heat simply because they refuse to do so. They hit all their marks on the board, they’re happy. It’s like CM Punk said, Vince is a millionaire who should be a billionaire. And all the people that could make Vince a billionaire, are turning to alternatives.

It's clear the money is there, if they can get the talent and a tv/streaming deal then they'll be in competition.

Like said above, they can be huge, WCW in their prime big, but it's undeniable that WWE is too big of a brand now to be overtaken. They've dominated almost 20 years with no competition, which has burned the name into peoples brains. They can become a more successful promotion than WWE but the WWE name alone will outpower them. The only way i see them beating WWE is if they grow big enough to buy out WWE from Vince, which is highly, highly unlikely. WWE is a house hold name for anything wrestling now. If you asked a non-wrestling fan what wrestling is, they'll say WWE. I've got friends who have never been wrestling fans who see something even resembling a fight and say along the lines of "That's some WWE sh*t over there" This is exactly it. This new Company could throw some serious money at it, and even acquire the indie darlings from the WWE (Daniel Bryan, Nakamura, Finn Balor, Kevin Owens etc), and while it might blow the WWE out of the water in terms of the product that it puts on for a wrestling fan, the difference is is that the WWE is a household staple name in entertainment. Every non-wrestling fan will always still relate to the WWE due to the pop culture stars of the 80's and the Attitude Era stars of the 90's. Sure, this new Company could be a breathe of fresh air for all of us die hard fans that watch every week, and entertain us with 5 Star Matches and so on, but I'd be extremely surprised if anything ever surpassed the WWE as a global brand now, even with the amount of seemingly available dream Matches on WWE's part fading away, the Attitude Era long serving stars value constantly diminishing, and the weekly product as dull as it's ever been. In all honesty, it would need something huge such as signing a staple WWE-made name like John Cena, and turning him heel on their programming to create a fraction of a shift. That, or throwing huge money at a Connor McGregor Match for example to gain serious mainstream attention.

I still don’t understand why people think WWE is so untouchable. Prime WCW was more popular and had more people watching than WWE does now, and it’s dead. And it died only 2 years after their peak.
Literally the only thing that keeps WWE in business is their name and global presence. Bigger companies that made more money have died. I guess it doesn’t seem fathomable because everyone knows them from as far back as their memory goes, but they’ve barely even been a company a one life time and it could be gone a lot easier than people think.

I don't think that WWE is untouchable either but they've been the top dogs for 20 years or so and I can see why fans don't think that any other company could truly compete with them or even the slightest possibility of maybe someday taking them out.I do believe that another company could at some point take them down or at least be on par with them but even if AEW takes off its still year down the road like 4 or 5 at a minimum. But if AEW is true they should have the best chance of any company since the glory days of the nWo & WCW in the mid to late 90's.You have the Kahn family behind them which if reports are true are twice as rich as McMahon and have some really good talent in the likes of The Bucks,Rhodes,Jericho & JR who all are extremely smart when it comes to the wrestling business and creating a buzz and pulling things off with their creative minds and hard work and want to.
The key will be what type of TV deal or streaming deal that they get.If they land on a station like WGN,TBS,SyFy or another decent size cable channel that most of America gets and get a good time slot and the cable newtwork really pushing them I think they have a good shot of taking off and giving the WWE something to worry about long term.
I would love to see Cody and company pull off a deal with TBS for a show Saturday nights at 6:05 for a two hour block in the classic NWA/WCW time slot.Could be a decent time slot and star with no NFL to go up against and really in terms of important sporting event just College to worry about while also early enough for folks to go out and party or whatever after the show.

I think its funny when theres fans that actually believe All Elite Wrestling is already a promotion when it hasnt launched yet. Like, someone made a comment on reddit that Bandido signed with ROH cause he couldn't wait a few months for AEW to offer him a deal. I'll be honest, i would be surprised if all these trademarks being placed is just for future All In type events. If it does end up a promotion, like i said before, i wish them all the best, but i feel fans should just treat this "promotion", as an alternative to what WWEs giving us. They're not going to be competition for WWE. At best, they'll do close to a million fans if they ever get a good TV deal. I'll be generous with that prediction.

Let's see what happens when "All in" or whoever books a show in a non smark city. Of course Chicago, actually Hoffman Estates, was going to see out fast. We have over 30 different indy feds! LOL I did work a show on that same day and we drew 150 paid all this considered.
Book a show like this in Omaha and see what happens.

It's all about promotion. You can sell a pile of crap to people with the right promo team.

True. I wasn't trying to discredit them. I believe they have enough charisma and are young enough to be in touch based on the memes they make, crowds they draw and their merchandise sales. They in other words know whats "cool" and can reach an audience WWE hasn't been reaching since the AE.

Cody and Brandi just posted it on Instagram, it’s happening. How do you think this will change the landscape in 2019? What a way to start.

After the Double Or Nothing announcement I'm excited to see how the card shapes up in the next few weeks.

It's always great to see a new promotion start and offer an alternative. And I really, really hope they are successful enough to slap Vince McMahon in the face hard enough to actually 'shake-up' the WWE product for real.
