I've seen people in my family mix up Ketchup/mayo and Mustard/mayo at the dinner table for as long as I can remember.
I don't do it, nor mix the 2 on my burgers and stuff, but a lot do I guess. Also like others have said, it's the 2 primary Ingredients in a # of sauces.

When I was in high school there was a kid who always mixed packets of mayo and ketchup together, and when I say packet(s) I mean that in every sense of the word. He must have used like 10 of each. He would just mush it around on once of those foam plates and pour it on anything he ate. Made everyone sick.

I put Mayo and ketchup on Hamburgers so Id use it. Not interested in it with anything else though.

Right people say this is BS but trust me and try this yourselves you'll have your tastebuds blown away.
Tuna, Mayo a little bit of ketchup salt pepper and vinegar have it with pasta / salad or just in a sandwich.
Ive been doing this for years its delicious, wouldn't use it for anything else though as I associate it with Tuna pasta and itd be weird with anything else.

A lot of sauces use this as a base (Russian, Thousand Island, etc.) so it's nothing new. Still gross, but nothing new.

As a Pittsburgh boy who bleeds Heinz ketchup, I'm interested. Thousand Island dressing for me really only works for me on Reubens and Big Macs, because I prefer Miracle Whip to mayo, but I'll try it.
