Do y'all think the newly reconstituted NWA (National Wrestling Alliance) today can be as big as it once was in the 70s and 80s?

I think wrestling in itself is on an up hill climb. I want companies like NWA to succeed, because we get better quiality shows from each company. If the waves are big enough, we may even see changes to WWE. In the end, its a win win for everyone.

The NWA specifically? I don’t think so. But I think wrestling outside of WWE hasn’t been this hot for nearly 2 decades. If anything, All In proved that. There is a demand for wrestling outside of WWE and I hope there’s a company that eventually gets strong enough to compete with them. Because at the end of the day it’s bestbfir the business.

It creates healthy competition between NWA, WWE and New Japan but also there would be more than one product that we the viewers can watch. Plus I grew up on NWA well my older cousins and my uncles all did. Not to mention NWA has such a rich tradition in the wrestling industry so to see it come back I do want it to be a success and honestly it wouldn't surprise me if we see WWE talent jump to NWA in the future.

The only way NWA could compete is if you had current WWE stars like their marquee big names jump ship

The NWA was as big as if not bigger then WWE. That's never gonna happen. Nothing will ever be as big as WWE.

I guess that is true but NWA has potential especially if they keep putting on show stealing matches but also putting out a harder and more edgy product than WWE then they can definitely compete. Make NWA more about wrestling than entertainment. The fans and the overall community in wrestling take notice and before you know it, you have another war.

WWE is just cornering the market for wrestling more than they ever have. Between high flying, to traditional WWE style, to the more indy style of NXT, to the new UK show coming out, from casuals to smarks they've got you covered. Hard or impossible to compete with.

The NWA will just be another indy promotion. Like others have said, there's no company that will be as big as WWE is. Not even NJPW will be competition for WWE. The furtherest I see NWA going is AXS TV. I do enjoy some of the guys that they've done videos on.

The NWA was as big as if not bigger then WWE. That's never gonna happen. Nothing will ever be as big as WWE. If a sanctioning body oversees all the top territories in the country, it's the biggest promoter in the country. Therefore, NWA was literally always bigger than the McMahons, and the McMahons started as one of those promoters, and only when Vince managed to finally kill off most of those territories, did WWF have grounds to claim to be the biggest in the country. They have the largest national influence of any one promotion in our country's history, but that's only been since they literally killed the NWA's biggest and best territories. It's been 30 years, but NWA was on top for the 41 years before that. It means something and it happened and pro wrestling didn't fall out of the holy vulva of Hulk Hogan and Vince McMahon.(Yes that's a bit ranting, I'm sorry) Yes, the WWE is the first globally recognized wrestling company as a single group of traveling wrestlers, but before that, the NWA was the sanctioning body over the most promotions internationally and therefore the biggest promotion office. Nothing may ever be as big as WWE again, but it was literally NWA before Vince McMahon was even old enough to get a promoter's license. I understand exactly what you mean, and don't really disagree with you, but I know people who don't understand how wrestling used to be and it makes me sick.

I think they could eventually be as big as WCW circa 1991. It would take a lot of work and it probably won't happen but I think the potential is there.
