Smackdown! March 1st, 2001 Host: Michael Cole and Jim Ross
Champion Roll Call: WWF World Heavyweight Champion: Stone Cold Steve Austin (2/25/2001) WWF Intercontinental Champion: Chris Jericho (1/21/2001) WWF World Tag Team Champions: The Dudley Boyz (1/21/2001) WWF European Champion: Test (1/22/2001) WWF Hardcore Champion: Crash Holly (2/25/2001) WWF Women’s Champion: Ivory (11/02/2000) WWF Light Heavyweight Champion: Dean Malenko (2/26/2001) JR talks on commentary about Stone Cold Steve Austin who must be in some kind of existential crisis. JR says he believes in Austin that Austin has a lot of heart and hopes he digs deep down inside to find a way to have a great match with the Rock at Wrestlemania, win lose or draw, it has to be his best. But he'll never accept Mr. McMahon's alignment with Austin. Austin is defending the WWF title tonight up against Rikishi. Kurt Angle makes his way to the ring and on the mic. He talks about how he humiliated Vince McMahon at No Way Out, but wants to humiliate someone else. He says how he wasn't 100% when the Rock beat him on RAW. He says that he blames the Undertaker for the beat down he received earlier that night. The Undertaker makes his way out. They're face to face. Taker: If you got a problem, I say we settle it. Kurt: Of course I got a problem, I want an apology. Taker: (laughs) what for bumping into you? You ain't getting an apology boy. Kurt: I want a match. Taker: I'm already in a match tonight. Kurt: No I ain't talking about tonight on Smackdown, I'm talking about a match at Wrestlemania X-Seven because you know what....I've noticed, somehow you've been winning every Wrestlemania match there is (Streak didn't "exist" at the time, but it's just "noticed" here). But this isn't about what you've done at Wrestlemania. This is about your career. You've been WWF Champion on several occassions, you've beaten guys like Hulk Hogan (gets a fan reaction) to win the title, you've buried guys like Yokozuna and Mankind, you've been through hell and back again so many times that I've realized that the best way to prove to be the greatest of all time, to take my career to the next level, is to beat one of the greatest at the grandest stage of them all. Taker: You want a match at Wrestlemania X-Seven? You got it (fans cheer). But know this, you better still watch your back because we're weeks away. Kurt: O I will and I want you at your best. I want you at 100% and I'm going to make sure you will be 100% come Wrestlemania. JR talks about the Undertaker taking on the Big Show later tonight. _____________________________________________________ Matt Hardy & Lita def. Crash Holly (c) & Molly Holly via pinfall in an intergender tag match after Matt hits the Twist of Fate on Crash for the pinfall. The Hardcore title was not up for grabs. Backstage four members of the Radicalz are talking about Chris Jericho and Justin Credible. They believe that one of them has to become IC Champion and should do whatever it takes to win the IC title off of Jericho. Saturn says he'll take care of Justin Credible right now. Justin Credible def. Saturn via DQ after the Radicalz interfere.
Chris Benoit def. X-Pac via submission.Wrestlemania moments are shown with Wrestlemania III as a feature. Meanwhile, Stone Cold makes his way into the building with his truck. _____________________________________________________ The Undertaker def. The Big Show via pinfall. During the match the ref was knocked out and Kurt Angle runs in giving the Big Show the angle slam! Taker had no idea and managed to get in a chokeslam for the pin and win. Backstage Taker is looking for Angle because he doesn't want Angle helping him at all, but it seems like Angle is nowhere to be found. Raven def. Taka Michinoku (w/Funaki) via pinfall.Stone Cold Steve Austin (c) def. Rikishi via pinfall to retain the WWF Championship.
A more of a squash match for Austin since Rikishi's big push was done for by this time. Austin got in the stunner on Rikishi for the pin and win. Austin celebrates in the ring for Smackdown to go off air.

RAW is WARMarch 5th, 2001 Host: Jim Ross and Paul Heyman RAW opens with Paul Heyman sporting an ECW cap walking down the aisle to join commentary as Lawler has some time off. Vince McMahon makes his way out to the ring and on a mic. Vince: Now that everyone knows my wife is free from her comatose state, I have someone to blame for all of this. Someone who was in my life, someone who I gave everything dammit, I showered her with gifts, with so much that I am going to call her out right now so I can do something I've been wanting to do for a while now. So come on out Trish Stratus, right now! Trish makes her way out.Vince: Trish, since you broke up with me, I've thought about you ever since. I've thought about how to get back at you. That's right Trish. As for you asking me if I loved you, to be honest the only woman I ever loved, when I was a young man, was Linda McMahon. But that was a long time ago dammit... Trish: Vince, I really don't care about what you feel. Because the thing is, I found a better man. Vince: (looks jealous) Who could be a better man than me? I'm a billionaire dammit. Trish: O this man will be a billionaire soon, in fact just last night he told me he did something that will shock the world. Vince: Look you can keep your private life... Suddenly "Here comes the money" plays and it's SHANE MCMAHON! Vince is shocked that his son has returned. Shane makes his entrance to a pop with Linda McMahon. Shane: Well dad (gives Trish a kiss on the lips!) I think Trish was just sick of being with an old geezer like you. Vince: What the hell is this! Linda: After all that you did Vince, I admit I wanted to come out here and hit you in your grapefruits, but than you said the words that you actually loved me once. Vince: That's right Linda, now look... Linda: I admit there was a time when we were in love, but Vince, after all that you've done, I have to actually say sorry to you. Vince: You're apologizing to me? Ha about time! Shane: I got news for you dad. I...am Mick Foley's benafactor and after all that you've handled things since I've been gone I mean come on dad, look at what you've done. You cheated on mom, you drugged her and kept her in a comatose state, you aligned yourself with the man you hate Stone Cold Steve Austin, heck you treated poor Trish like she was your property, well she's my girlfriend now. Think about it dad, and poor Triple H, your son in law! Look what you did to him, and look at Stephanie, you almost had the Undertaker, Kane and even Steve Austin destroy her. You're a sick old man and an old man you are. With the XFL taking off, I'm glad it's working out for you dad and you should continue working in the XLF, however I think we all know where this is going, your time dad in the WWF...is over.Vince: What the hell is this? Shane: That's right the Board of Directors have voted unanimously, with mom's voting power, with Stephanie's voting power as you can see she's on my side now dad, we have the power to vote you out as Chairman of the WWF! (gets a pop from the crowd) Vince: No...No dammit I'm Vince McMahon! You can't do this to me! Please (starts to literally cry)...please (gets on his knees and grovels to Linda!) Please like I said earlier, I loved you once, maybe...maybe I can make this right please...maybe we can love each other again (Linda turns away)... Shane: There is one exception. Vince: (gets back up) What is it? Tell me... Shane: My vote is the final vote required to oust you. Vince: Son...you know how much I love you...you're my son, my heir, my boy...I remember the day you were born you were brought in you were so little... Shane: And I won't vote now...but I will vote at Wrestlemania X-Seven. Vince: Dammit Son please! (gets angry) Shane: If you want to stay on as Chairman, you will have to do something. You'll have to win a match at Wrestlemania X-Seven. Vince: Anything dammit anything! If you want me in the ring to yourself you got it dammit! Shane: As much as I would like that dad, you will have to face none other than...TRIPLE H in a STREET FIGHT!Vince is in utter shock as Trish, Shane and Linda leave with a grin. _____________________________________________ Chris Jericho (c) def. Eddie Guerrero via pinfall to retain the Intercontinental Championship after Justin Credible and Raven join forces to cost Eddie the IC title. The Radicalz run in after to beat up on Justin and Raven, who run off. J R notices how they're ECW guys and asks Heyman if he has anything to do with this and Heyman responds he has no idea what he's talking about. Backstage after a commercial break, Vince is all alone in his office. William Regal comes in and talks about how he's getting in shape for a shot at the European title at Wrestlemania and if Vince will give him the match. Vince stares at the monitor with a beer in his hand and says he'll think about it. Meanwhile, Al Snow with some "little people", is campaigning in the hallways for WWF Commissioner as he still believes he can do it. Ivory (c) def. Lita (w/Matt) via pinfall to retain the WWF Womens' ChampionshipThe Undertaker, Kane & D’Von Dudley def. Christian, Rikishi & Haku via pinfall in a six-man tag after the Undertaker lands a chokeslam on Christian for the win. Earlier, Kurt Angle showed up from the crowd and jumped the railings to attack Christian on the outside. Angle ran off in the audience as Taker looked pissed off. Still Taker landed the chokeslam for the win. _____________________________________________ Stone Cold Steve Austin is in the back with the WWF title. Suddenly the Rock appears out of nowhere. They look face to face. Rock: And so it begins...the Great One and Stone Cold...two of the most electrifying men in sports entertainment going to Wrestlemania! Austin: Get out of my face. Rock: (laughs) I don't think so because tonight apparently we are tag team partners. Austin: O really? Under whose authority? Rock: Shane McMahon Austin: So how are we going to do this? Because I really don't want too. Rock: You know I got a surprise for you, if we win. Austin: Whatever...(they're eye to eye as RAW goes to a commercial break) Stone Cold Steve Austin (c) & The Rock vs. The Big Show & Al Snow (w/Little People) in a Tag Match. Austin and the Rock come out separately. The Rock and Austin don't get along. They both don't want to tag each other in, but instead are forced too when they slap the other's back. Late in the match all four men are in the ring. The Big Show goes for a chokeslam on the Rock, Austin gets in the stunner on Al Snow and stuns the Big Show saving the Rock from the chokeslam. The Rock says he doesn't want any help. Austin threatens to stun the Rock till the Rock gets in the rock bottom on Al Snow for the pin and win. Winner: Stone Cold Steve Austin & The Rock via pinfall_____________________________________________ To close the show off Triple H and Stephanie McMahon are on their way out from an office to address the crowd. Meanwhile before we go to break, Austin is packing his bag till the Rock says he has his surprise. The Rock says "you two have a lot in common", and in comes Debra (here the WWF doesn't acknowledge Austin's marriage or any relation to Debra). Austin: Is this the surprise? Debra: Do you like? Austin: How about I buy you a drink? Debra: Sure... JR says he hopes Austin goes out on a date and maybe that's what he really needs right now. _____________________________________________ Triple H and Stephanie in the ring: Triple H: I wanted say a few things after I lost the WWF Championship. Austin, you won, but you all have to admit it took three stone cold stunners and a whole load of chair shots to bring me down. This is why I am the game, I am the best in this business. And as for you Vince McMahon, your whole life is about to turn upside down because at Wrestlemania X-Seven, I'm going to end your career when I beat you down for all that you've done. Stephanie: That's right dad, after everything, after screwing my man over at No Way Out, after you tried to destroy me time and time again your own daughter, after what you did you mom, to even Trish, gosh I don't even like Trish but I now feel for her. This is what you deserve and I'm going to be beside my man Triple H to see you fall! Triple H: I'm not going to touch you Vince, here my words I will not touch you till Wrestlemania, because I want you to scream and cry like the baby you are, I want to be in your nightmares because at Wrestlemania, the WWF will change forever!

RAW is WAR March 12th, 2001 Host: Jim Ross and Paul Heyman Note: As this diary is an alternate timeline where the Invasion doesn't happen, WCW becomes defunct and the final March 26th Nitro doesn't happen. Instead it's announced early of WCW's end.
RAW opens with a major news clip from the media that the World Wrestling Federation's "W. Acquisition Company" formed in late-2000, failed to reach an agreement with AOL Time Warner regarding the purchase of WCW assets and contracts. Therefore, AOL Turner has announced that it's canceling World Championship Wrestling for good, despite continuing litigation and contractual disputes/obligations. JR says that the Monday Night Wars looks to be over, and the WWF has come out victorious. Heyman: I can't believe it JR, no one would have ever dreamed of this happening. JR: I've always believed in the WWF and tonight Vince McMahon will be addressing the situation with a major announcement to Sports Entertainment fans everything. Tonight only on RAW (as they wish to counter the last Nitro show the same night) a big main event, Champion vs. Champion, title for title, WWF Champion Stone Cold Steve Austin will take on the IC Champion Chris Jericho, also in action will be the Rock taking on the Undertaker. Plus, a 20-man Battle Royal will be taking place tonight for a shot at the Intercontintental Championship at Wrestlemania X-Seven! The Hardy Boyz (w/Lita) fought Edge & Christian to a Double Countout for the No. 1 contendership of the WWF Tag Team titles at Wrestlemania X-Seven. Shane McMahon makes an appearance right after the match and announces since there was no winner, it will be a TRIPLE THREAT TLC match at Wrestlemania as both tag teams will take on the Dudleys! ____________________________________ Vince McMahon arrives to the building from his limo with William Regal. After a commercial break Vince addresses the audience backstage: As you may have heard that AOL Time Warner was unwilling to make a deal with me, Mr. McMahon, to purchase WCW. I could've saved those contracts, gave jobs to dubya-see-dubya stars, but alas, quite frankly those negotiations didn't go as planned. Tonight as you will be seeing a fantastic assemble of what is the best of the WWF, so is WCW Nitro on its last and final show, the last leg of a war that has been going on for several years. In fact the war went back long ago when Billionaire Ted wanted to put the WWF out of business. Well Billionaire Ted has failed and next week on RAW, there won't be another "wrastlin" show out there.
We at the World Wrestling Federation are proud of our over fifty year tradition. The Attitude Era as you know it will continue on for long as it can for your personal enjoyment. I believe solely that our strategy is clear, not to eliminate competition, but to be your primary choice for Sports Entertainment forever. I want to thank the fans, all of you at home for choosing the World Wrestling Federation.
As a token of my gratitude, I have a special announcement regarding Wrestlemania X-Seven. You may have heard recently that both the Royal Rumble and No Way Out PPVs are the top two biggest PPV's so far in 2001, even outdoing the March 3rd Holyfied vs. Ruiz fight. As WCW has canceled their PPV, known as Greed, that was supposed to be scheduled this Sunday. I have assurance from AOL Time Warner who have allowed me to make an offer to those who bought Greed PPV as of date, to watch Wrestlemania X-Seven on April 1st for a special price of $29.99. This is a limited time offer till March 26th. I want to be able to offer fans of WCW, who had unfortunately bought the Greed PPV with their hard earned money, the opportunity to join us at Wrestlemania X-Seven.
As for the question of would I offer jobs to some of your WCW favorites? Maybe I will, maybe I won't, but like any Superstar, they have to earn their spot just like anyone who comes into the WWF. At this time I have no interest in bringing in current stars, but I am a phone call away to those WCW stars who are out of their contractual obligations. Thank you for watching, and I hope you enjoy the WWF for years to come. ____________________________________ 20-Man Battle Royal for a shot at the IC Title at Wrestlemania X-SevenParticipants: Chris Benoit, Dean Malenko, Saturn, Eddie Guerrero, Big Show, Justin Credible, Raven, Tazz, X-Pac, Steven Richards, Val Venis, Goodfather, Bull Buchanan, Kane, Faarooq, Bradshaw, Blackman, Grand Master Sexay, Albert, and William Regal. The Battle Royal was all at once. The Radicalz mostly fought ECW guys like Raven, Justin, and Tazz whom Heyman was cheering for his ECW comrades. Final Four: Chris Benoit, Kane, Faarooq, and Big Show. Kane and Benoit manage to throw Big Show out. Faarooq throws out Chris Benoit. Kane chokeslams Faarooq to the outside for the win! Winner: Kane as the No. 1 Contender for the IC title at Wrestlemania X-Seven____________________________________ The Rock arrives to the building. Stone Cold approaches him face to face. Rock: Thank you...Stone Cold...for that "present". Austin: No Problem it's what you deserved. Rock: Deserve? Ha, the Rock can satisfy and enjoy with woman as he pleases. The Rock has another surprise for you tonight. Austin: And what's that? Rock: Ha, just wait and see... Ivory (c) def. Molly Holly via pinfall to retain the WWF Women's Championship. Suddenly from the back Chyna makes her return despite her neck injury and runs into the ring. Ivory in fear jumps out. Chyna issues out a challenge for the title and Ivory runs to the back without a straight answer. ____________________________________ The Rock vs. The Undertaker in Singles competition. The Rock lays the smackdown early on, Taker counters with several holds and moves. He goes old school in the match and attempts a tombstone only for the rock to counter and land the rock bottom! The Rock goes for the peoples elbow but Kurt Angle runs out and swipes the Rock's feet. Taker is up and notices Kurt. Taker goes for the tombstone, and the Rock once again counters it and lands the Rock bottom once more for the pin, but Angle interferes in the match by pulling the Rock's legs for the DQ. Winner: The Rock via DQ.
aker does his sit up and gets pissed off, and runs after Kurt Angle. ____________________________________ In the back Shane is going to his own office with Trish Stratus. Trish talks about "enacting a Hollywood sex scene" in the ring. Shane likes the idea, but says they have a lot of time for things like that. He wants to see his father fall, but is only giving him a chance to keep his job because of bloodties. Stone Cold Steve Austin (c) (w/Debra) vs. Chris Jericho (c) for the WWF Championship and IC Championship. Austin and Jericho hit it off right away. Both men counter and reverse moves quickly. Austin pummels Jericho and gets him to a corner for a beat down. After a commercial break, Jericho gets Austin into the walls of jericho. It looks like Austin is about to tap out, but the Rock runs in and pulls the ref away. The ref on the outside admonishes the Rock and warns that it'll be a DQ if he interferes. Jericho lets go and shouts at the ref. Suddenly the arena goes red, and it's Kane! Kane runs out and goes after the Rock, whipping him to the railings. Kane gets in the ring and chokeslams Austin for the DQ. Winner: Stone Cold Steve Austin via DQ. Both men retain the IC title. Kane turns to Jericho who Jericho does a flying backkick on Kane! Jericho holds up the IC title as Kane sits up. Jericho runs out as Kane stands in the middle of the ring, turning up the flames for RAW to go off air.

Smackdown!March 15th, 2001 Host: Michael Cole and Tazz Cole and Tazz talk about the end of WCW and how WWF truimphed. Smackdown opens up with the Radicalz in the ring: Benoit, Saturn, Eddie & Malenko. Benoit talks trash about ECW. Benoit: Just like WCW is dead, ECW is going to die. We've had enough of these guys who think they can come to our ring here in the WWF and take our spot, a spot we well deserve. ECW talks about how "hardcore" they are, well we are as hardcore as they can get. Eddie: That's right we issue out a challenge anywhere anytime because let's face it, ECW will be forgotten quicker than WCW. Suddenly Tazz from commentary jumps into the ring. Tazz: You talk about hardcore, you don't know hardcore, you've never felt hardcore. None of you four have been through what I've been through. The Radicalz start to surround Tazz till Justin and Raven run out. Eddie: You think you're all tough, they're are more of us than you. Tazz: What the hell let's give them a taste of hardcore! All hell breaks loose. Tazz is double teamed by Eddie and Benoit, Justin and Malenko go at it, Saturn is taken down by Raven. WWF Officials run in and finally break them apart as some fans chant "ECW". ________________________________________ Backstage Al Snow jumps into Vince McMahon's office and says that he wants another chance. Vince says he's already picked a WWF Commissioner before his son Shane would and in he comes, William Regal. Regal thanks Mr. McMahon for the position and says he won't disappoint him and at Wrestlemania he will regain the European title. Al Snow gets upset and says he deserves it so Vince says to go out right now and prove it in a match for WWF Commissioner! William Regal def. Al Snow via pinfall to become the WWF Commissioner
Backstage Kurt Angle arrives in the parking lot till from behind the Undertaker rams Kurt's back! Taker throws him everywhere till Kurt does a crazy "Olympic Slam" on Taker on a wooden platform! Taker is hurt as Kurt leaves shouting to "save it for Wrestlemania punk!". Chris Jericho (c) def. Steve Blackman via submission to retain the WWF Intercontinental Championship. At the end of the match, the arena turns red, it looks like Kane is on his way, but it was only a tease. Triple H arrives on his own to the building and after a commercial break enter Vince's room. Triple H: So you tried to take me out on RAW. Vince: Look pal, you can't be here dammit. But then again, you said, with your own words that you won't touch me, since I'm still the chairman, I'll fire your a$$ if you even try. In fact since Shane isn't even here tonight, I'm putting you in a match against the No. 1 Contender for the WWF IC title, Kane! Triple H: So this is how it's going to be. Just because I can't touch you...well "pops" remember to watch your back (leaves with Vince getting angry). _________________________________________ Grandmaster Sexay & Steve Blackman def. Bull Buchanan & The Goodfather (w/Richards) via pinfallTriple H (w/Stephanie) def. Kane via Countout after Chris Jericho taunts Kane from the RAW platform, but doesn't do anything except give Triple H a chance to PEDIGREE KANE ON THE CONCRETE FLOOR for the countout. Backstage Vince is angry that Triple H would do something crazy like pedigree Kane on the concrete. Regal says what is he going to do at Wrestlemania. Vince gets up and leaves the office. After a commercial break, Vince meets with Stone Cold who is flirting with Debra his new "girlfriend". Vince: Austin, look you know I'm your biggest fan. But dammit I need you now. Austin: You need me? Can't you see I'm kinda busy? Vince: Dammit Austin I need Stone Cold to be by my side at Wrestlemania. Austin: By your side? I was never on your side ( fans cheer in relief), the only side I'm on is that of Stone Cold and that's the bottom line. Vince: Austin dammit...I see you want to impress this young lady... Austin: Don't you look at her. Vince: Look if you want to hate me again go ahead, but would you rather have me as your boss, or that damn Shane McMahon? He's with my former girlfriend, what son does that? Think about what Shane would do to you. He'd probably strip you out of that title and declare you unfit to perform, think about that Austin! I'm the reason why you're still standing in the WWF! Austin: I'll have to think about it but right now I got other things to deal with (points at Debra) Vince: Ahh, alright Austin, but know this you owe me. No matter what you owe me just like you said after everything you've been through, after everything I did for you, you owe me. Austin nods his head. Cole wonders if Austin will be beside Vince McMahon in his match at Wrestlemania. Kurt Angle def. The Big Show via submission after Angle gets in the ankle lock and makes Show tap out. The Undertaker rushes down the aisle after the match to go after Angle, but Angle leaves through the crowd for Smackdown to go off air.

RAW is WARMarch 19th, 2001 Host: Jim Ross and Paul Heyman Shane McMahon with Trish Stratus open RAW as they walk down the aisle and enter the ring. The Right to Censor also join them to some heat. Shane: As you all know, my father's days are numbered. Vince McMahon will soon become a shadow of himself. At Wrestlemania X-Seven, when Triple H squashes my father in the middle of this ring, I will immediately vote Vince McMahon out as Chairman of the WWF and well, after long discussions with the Board of Directors, they have decided that I will become Acting Chairman that very same night. As Acting Chairman, my first move will be to end the reforms my father enacted several years ago. As you all know our one time rival is no more, that means no more war. And with no war, this so-called WWF Attitude, will come to an end. We will go back to the good old days. As part of this initiative, I will be appointing the Right to Censor to ensure quality programming from now on (gets heat from the crowd now). Where children can laugh and play with toys galore. No more bras and panties or vulgarity, because play times over and the only eye candy you'll ever see is my girlfriend Trish Stratus wrapped around my... GLASS SHATTERS! Stone Cold Steve Austin makes his way out to a huge pop from the crowd. Austin: You wanna go back to the good old days? Shane: You got that right, my father has ruined the WWF... Austin: I don't give a damn what you think (flips Shane off) because the bottom line is as long as Stone Cold Steve Austin is around in the WWF with the WWF title, there is no way in hell that I'm going to let you take over you piece of trash. Shane: (gets angry) Austin, if you interfere in that match, I'll strip you of the WWF title right here and right now. Austin: I trust that the biggest sob in the world Vince McMahon will find a way to dig deep inside and do the impossible by beating Triple H, and when he does you'll find me giving you the biggest stunner the world has ever seen and that's the bottom line because Stone Cold said so! __________________________________ X-Pac def. Crash Holly (c) (w/Molly) via pinfall to become the NEW Hardcore Champion. Backstage Austin who is walking back to the dressing room is approached by the APA (renamed on Sunday Night Heat from the Acolytes). They don't like what Shane McMahon is thinking about changing WWF Attitude or his alliance with the Right to Censor. Austin asks them to do something about it and the APA look at each other nodding. The Big Show def. Raven via pinfall after Saturn runs in costing Raven the match. The Hardy Boyz fought Edge & Christian to a No Contest after the Dudley's interfered in the match and all hell broke loose. Dean Malenko (c) def. Justin Credible via DQ to retain the WWF Light Heavyweight Championship. Rhyno makes his WWF debut running in to beat down on Dean. Backstage after a commercial break the Radicalz are with Dean telling them they need to do something about the ECW and that Rhyno is an ECW shill. They storm into Shane McMahon's office demanding he do something about the ECW. Shane says they'll get there change in an eight-man tag at Wrestlemania X-Seven. But Shane warns that if they lose they'll embarass the WWF. Austin is in the back talking to Debra as the Rock show up telling him that Shane has put them in a tag match against the Right to Censor. Austin says he wants to do this alone and beat them up before they gain power in the WWF. The Rock says he wants to whoop their candy a$$e$$ just as much as he does. They part ways. Stone Cold Steve Austin (c) & The Rock fought The Right to Censor (Goodfather & Buchanan) (w/Richards) to a No Contest after Austin and the Rock lay the smackdown on their opponents allowing for the APA to rush in and beat them up.

Great! Will any WCW stars show up in the following months? Probably, probably not, the diary's main focus is an alternate timeline where WCW was never bought and was left for dead since AOL Time Warner probably would've never found a buyer.

Smackdown!March 22nd, 2001 Host: Michael Cole and Tazz Cole announces that later tonight is an exclusive sit-down interview hosted by Jim Ross that will take place between Stone Cold Steve Austin and the Rock. Plus in the main event, Kurt Angle & Chris Jericho will take on the Undertaker and Kane in a tag match. The Big Show def. Crash Holly (w/Molly) to become the No. 1 Contender for the WWF Hardcore Championship.Backstage the APA (Bradshaw & Faarooq) with Jacqueline enter Vince McMahon's office. Vince was drinking a few beers with the WWF Commissioner William Regal. The APA says they want the Right to Censor at Wrestlemania and would support Vince if they need his help. Vince says no one can interfere in his match, but he's still the Chairman and dammit they'll have a match. Albert def. Grandmaster Sexay via pinfall.
The Undertaker and Kane arrive together in the building. After a commercial break... The APA are playing cards with Jacqueline and some WWF crewmembers, till Shane McMahon shows up. Shane says they can have there match as long as they don't interfere in Vince's match at Wrestlemania. The APA threaten Shane, Shane says he's giving them a handicap Tag match at Wrestlemania, meaning they'll have to beat three members of the Right to Censor. The APA want a stipulation that if the Right to Censor lose, they won't have any political say. Shane in fear says if the APA win, he'll let WWF Attitude continue, but he doubts they will. Jim Ross is sitting in the exclusive interview with Austin and the Rock. JR tells Austin he should consider posture in a professional interview. Austin tells him to shut up. JR asks them what they like about each other. Austin says the only thing he likes about the Rock is that he is responsible for setting up him and his girlfriend Debra. The Rock says he respects all that Austin has done professionally, but personally he doesn't trust Austin because he's aligned with Vince McMahon. Austin says he had no choice, and that facing the Rock in the ring will be his greatest challenge ever because he needs to know if he has what it takes. The Rock says this isn't the same Austin who after getting paralyzed would continue a match. He wants Austin at a 100%, even if he has to make sure he's 100% before Wrestlemania. Austin says he could never be 100%, but that he'll make sure that he walks out the WWF Champion.
A Wrestlemania countdown is shown with highlights of past Wrestlemanias. After a commercial break, JR continues the interview with the Rock and Austin. The Rock talks about how he grew up in the industry and all he ever wanted to be was WWF Champion. He needs to be the Champion no matter what. Austin says the champion is the No. 1 guy in the industry, and if he has to go on for a full hour he will. He has to beat the Rock, because if he can't beat the Rock, it's over for Austin, this isn't just about the WWF title, but his career. JR asks Austin would he consider retiring if he does lose. Austin says he doesn't want to believe he could ever lose, but if the Rock beats him, he might consider retiring. JR thanks both men for the interview. The Dudley Boyz (c) & Spike Dudley def. Eddie Guerrero, Perry Saturn & Dean Malenko (w/Benoit) via pinfall after Rhyno, Raven, and Justin Credible with Paul Heyman help out "former" ECW guys the Dudleys during the match for Spike (who makes his debut) to get a pinfall victory over Saturn in what Cole calls an upset, while Tazz says Spike could beat them all up in a handicap match because he is "hardcore". Kurt Angle & Chris Jericho (c) fought The Brothers of Destruction to a No Contest. For the most part of the match Taker and Angle, Jericho and Kane were at it. The match couldn't finish as all four men ended up in the ring two minutes in to beat each other up. Smackdown ends when Kane brings the corners up for flames, while Angle locks in the Angle lock at the same time. Angle runs out to meet with Jericho as Kane points at Jericho. Taker is up limping and talking trash for Smackdown to go off air.

RAW is WARMarch 26th, 2001 Host: Jim Ross and Paul Heyman
JR talks about ECW taking on the Radicalz at Wrestlemania, Heyman says he'll prove why ECW is the greatest competitor to the WWF, and that they're the ones standing not "WCW", and he will humiliate the McMahons. JR says that he still has faith the Radicalz will come out victorious. Out comes Shane McMahon with Trish Stratus. We are just days away, this Sunday, from Wrestlemania X-Seven. This will be a day to remember. A new era will rise, WWF Attitude will end thanks to the Right to Censor who will destroy the APA, and I will become Acting Chairman of the World Wrestling Federation after Triple H beats up my father Vince McMahon in a Street Fight. Also, after hearing about Stone Cold Steve Austin on Smackdown, since he s now thinking about retirement and you all know the man has caused so much trouble for the McMahon family...well we might just have to say goodbye to Austin forever (gets huge heat) when he loses the WWF title. In fact you can all consider tonight, the final episode of "RAW is WAR", because next Monday, this program will be renamed to "Monday Night RAW" (gets a lot of heat from the crowd). Also, my father booked this so-called Legends Battle Royal for Wrestlemania, I'll let him have it, but it's an insult to the good old days that's for sure.
As for Trish Stratus, honey next week on RAW, you can't wear that skimpy outfit (gets even more heat) on TV. In fact I want you to wear a suit from now on because you're going to be my personal assistant and you'll be paid more than you ever have been as a performer (Trish was unhappy at first and accepts it happily). With my mom as CEO, with the Helmsley's by my side, the new era of the WWF is....The Rock suddenly makes an appearance and gets in the ring. Rock: You talk about wanting to change the WWF. You talk about ending WWF Attitude, well Shane, I am Attitude. Stone Cold is Attitude, the American Badass the Undertaker is Attitude, you can't redefine us and I got no problem with what Trish is wearing (winks at her as she smiles), the fact of the matter is WWF Attitude is the reason you are standing here in the ring, it's the reason why that other company went out of business. It's the reason why I'm going to beat your candy a$$ right this instant! Shane: Rock! No no you don't understand. My father has destroyed the WWF... Rock: It doesn't matter what you think. So you're going to be Acting Chairman if Vince McMahon loses at Wrestlemania? Shane: That's right. Rock: Are you Acting Chairman right now? Shane: No. Suddenly the Rock jumps at Shane and gives him a Rock Bottom. The Rock KISSES Trish on the lips and leaves! _________________________________________ After a commercial break, Shane is being tended by Trish in the office. Trish says not to hurt the Rock and let him have it. Shane says he's not going to punish the Rock at Wrestlemania, but he's going to punish him tonight by putting him in a Triple Threat match against Triple H and Kurt Angle. Tazz def. Eddie Guerrero via Table in a TLC match. Radicalz and ECW members were barred from ringside. After a commercial break, Doink the Clown makes an appearance entertaining some of the fans at ringside. JR tells Heyman to call it what it is, a Gimmick and that the Battle Royal is a Gimmick Battle Royal, not a "Legends" Battle Royal. JR says no one wants to see the WWF go backwards and actually for a change hopes Vince McMahon and the APA win at Wrestlemania. X-Pac (c) fought Crash Holly (w/Molly) to a No Contest, X-Pac retains the WWF Hardcore Championship. Doink interupts the match doing tricks, and X-Pac and Crash both beat him down for messing up their match. Backstage, Vince McMahon shows up in Shane's office. Vince: What do you want, I've been hitting the gym for this one and took a day off to train. Shane: You can train all you want, you know you won't beat Triple H. Vince: I really don't like where you're trying to take my company. Let the past be the past. Shane: O like the Legends Battle Royal? Vince: Look son... Shane: I'm disappointed dad, I thought you would be grovelling at my feet, begging me for a job. In fact I could consider giving you a job after you lose at Wrestlemania. Vince: I don't intend on losing. Shane: I called you in because I want to make sure you can still compete in the ring. So tonight, your taking on Test in a non-title match. Vince: What? I don't...I refuse dammit I'm still the chairman. Shane: I might as well vote you out right now. Vince: Fine dammit. _________________________________ The Hardy Boyz (w/Lita) fought The Dudley Boyz (w/Spike) to a No Contest after Edge & Christian interfere. Vince McMahon (w/William Regal) def. Test (c) via pinfall in a non-title match. Vince walks down the aisle with a strut. Regal is with him as Test is waiting in the ring. Vince grapples and Test works on Vince's arm. Vince reverses an armbar. After a commercial break, Test slams Vince to the mat till Regal swipes Test. Test goes after Regal to the outside till Regal manages to whip him to the ring post and tosses him back in. Vince goes for a STUNNER and the pinfall win. Regal rushes in the ring to celebrate with Vince. The Big Show def. Chris Jericho (c) via pinfall in a non-title match after Kane runs in during the match. X-Pac rushed in to help Jericho, but Kane chokeslams him to the outside. Kane gets in a tombstone when the ref was knocked out giving Big Show the win. The Rock def. Triple H & Kurt Angle via submission after the Undertaker chases Kurt Angle to the audience and Vince McMahon runs in. Vince SCREWS Triple H when the Rock gets in sharpshooter as Vince calls for the bell! Triple H goes nuts as Vince laughs it off at the RAW stage as RAW goes off air.

Smackdown!March 29th, 2001 Host: Michael Cole and Tazz
Wrestlemania memories recap is shown at the beginning of the final big show before Wrestlemania X-Seven. Stone Cold Steve Austin opens the show getting in the ring to a pop. Austin: I came out here for one reason only and one reason only, to call out that sob Shane McMahon right here right now. Shane is on the RAW platform and refuses to get into the ring.Austin: Why don't you get in here you sob...I realized that Vince McMahon could actually lose this Sunday which puts my career in jeopardy. So I need to know Shane, will you let me continue on as WWF Champion? Will you let me beat the living daylights out of every sob that comes into this ring to face me? Shane: Watch that language of yours Austin because I see potential in you Austin. You could be the face of a new era in the WWF. I'm not my father, just remember that. Yes it's true based on the fact that you were run over, that all those years ago you broke your neck, that you may not be the same, but the fact is I would enjoy seeing you beat up. So you have a choice Austin, you can pick the hard way or the easy way. Austin: I think you already know the answer to that. Shane: Do you honestly think you'll walk away this Sunday night the WWF Champion? Do you think you have what it takes to beat the Rock? The Rock is in his prime, the Rock is in top condition he's 100%, while you may as well be a shadow of yourself. You said it yourself Austin, you would consider retiring (gets heat). Austin: That's true, I have been thinking about it. I have been thinking about retiring and going on a long vacation with my girlfriend Debra (looks at the crowd who boo). But right now my focus is only on the Rock...and you. Shane: I ain't coming down that ring, I know how this works. Come this Sunday, when it's all set and done Austin, you might as well consider retiring. ____________________________________________ The APA (w/Jacqueline) def. Kai-En-Tai via pinfall.
Rhyno (w/Paul Heyman) def. Test (c) via countout in a non-title match. William Regal had booked the match as a way to weaken Test. The Radicalz and ECW were barred from ringside. Vince McMahon pulls up in his limo. He finds Shane and Trish in his own office on a sofa. Vince: This isn't your office yet son so you need to find another place. In fact since I'm still the Chairman and you want to end WWF Attitude, what I created dammit, I'm giving the fans what they want right this instant. Bras and Panties match in a non-title match...Trish Stratus vs. Ivory! Ivory (c) def. Trish Stratus via strip in a non-title Bras and Panties match. Trish refused in the ring to even have the match, but Ivory beat her down. Shane in the back was watching on a monitor upset that his dad would do this to Trish. Late in the match, Chyna made a run to go after Ivory, whereby Ivory in a desperate way to run off, grabs unto Trish and accidentally rips her shirt off for the win. Ivory runs off to the back. Chris Benoit def. Raven via submission. Radicalz and ECW members were watching in the back and were once again barred from ringside. Chris Jericho (c) fought the Big Show to a No Contest in a non-title match as Kane makes his way out and the Big Show fights Kane off along with Jericho. Jericho later runs off. Big Show stands over Kane. Kane does a sit up and bodyslams Big Show to end Smackdown.

SmackDown!, March 29, 2001; The final show before WrestleMania, so this hopefully will be good as a final push for Mania. The Austin promo was interesting, but I didn't like Shane's retort of having Austin "watch his language" when he didn't even cuss. Also, you said that "Shane is on the RAW platform" when it should have been read the "SmackDown! stage". Proofreding always helps. APA beating Kai En Tai is good, keeps Bradshaw and Faarooq hot. I wish there was more detail here, who won that match? Who lost that match? Onto Rhyno versus Test. A Rhyno win is okay, but this still needs more detail. How did Test lost via countout? Even though they were banned, did The Radicalz and ECW show up? The Vince promo was something that happened, but it should have been expanded upon. I think the Ivory and Trish match should have been a championship match. The Attitude Era always had title matches nearly every week. Benoit defeating Raven is a good booking decision but it, once again, lacked detail to really sink into the storyline. Kane closing the show over Big Show was certainly lackluster as we head into WrestleMania. I think Stone Cold should have been the closing shot as we head into the biggest show of the year, but closing on Kane delivering a bodyslam to Big Show was not the right choice. This wasn't a good lead-in episode of SmackDown! and certainly did not catch that Attitude Era vibe. There was a significant lack of segments between matches. I would have loved to see more segments as it really helps establish the characters in the diary. This diary lacks a lot of detail and I think that hurts it. Adding more detail will certainly help this diary prosper and reach the next level. I suggest you read the Guidebook from 2011 that is still stickied at the top of the board to see how to do properly do a diary. Take your time and give us more insight to the shows, no need to rush and post multiple shows a day and this will help your writing tremendously.

Austin closing is fine, but the closing was crappier on the original show with Regal and Jericho closing the show, but it made sense back then: save it all for Wrestlemania. You make some valid points, it's the way I've done these diaries in the past, turning the attention to the bigger story/main events over smaller stories especially when it comes to how spontaneous feuds just appeared out of nowhere in this era. I've done them in a way in which I would be willing to read them again aka. my low attention span. If it's disappointing that's fine, I have no issue everyone is entitled to like or dislike and I'm fine with valid criticism. As a moderator I'm fine with being flexible in the way diaries are made, heck diaries are supposed to be about simulations, than what I do here I wish that there was more activity in the forum, but there hasn't been a whole lot for a long time, so I try to keep it going, telling stories. Kudos to those who are continuing their diaries especially with amazing detail.

Test goes for a powerbomb, but Regal lowblows him early on with a "warning" from the referee. JR believes that Regal is abusing his power as WWF Commissioner. Heyman says that Regal might not even be commissioner after this one. Test gets in a few right hands, Regal slams Test's knee and starts to work on it. He goes for a classic figure-four, but Test drags his body for the rope break. Later, Test goes for a sleeperhold, Regal manages to drop Test over the ropes from the sleeper. Test ends up getting his foot entangled on his way down. Regal starts to work on the knees on the outside till the ref untangles his feet. Test reverses an irishwhip into the steel steps. Regal is hurt, Test tosses him back in the ring and is on the apron. Regal does an impressive suplex from the apron on Test, getting him back in and spearing Test's knee for a boston crab. Test finally taps out. Winner: William Regal via submission and NEW WWF European Champion
__________________________________________________________ Backstage, a limo appears and it's Shane McMahon with Trish Stratus, Linda, and Mick Foley who makes a surprise appearance. Elsewhere, the APA are pacing around with Jacqueline, getting anxious for there match. Faarooq is nervous that if they can't win the tag match, the WWF will no longer be about Attitude and those fools Right to Censor will censor everything they do. Bradshaw hypes up Faarooq about the importance of Wrestlemania that he starts to punch the wall and Faarooq breaks down the door and rushes out with Jacqueline behind him. __________________________________________________________ HANDICAP TAG MATCH: The APA (w/Jacqueline) vs. Right to Censor (Buchanan, Goodfather & Val Venis) (w/Richards).Special Stipulation: If the APA win, WWF Attitude continues, if Right to Censor win, they become advisers to the Board of Directors. The Right to Censor are in the ring. Richards gets on the mic and starts to say that they are going to end WWF Attitude and censor everything even the word "bi4ch" (which he spells out instead of saying it). The APA rush out even before there theme song start to a big pop from the crowd. All hell breaks loose till the ref sorts it out. Val immediately goes after Bradshaw and takes him out to the floor for Richards to get in a few shots of his own too. Jacqueline jumps Richards and starts to slap him silly! Back in Val makes the tag to Goodfather who gets in a DDT on Bradshaw. Later Buchanan gets in a few holds on Bradshaw, but Bradshaw manages to get in the tag. Faarooq goes nuts and runs the ropes twice for some clotheslines as all members rush in to meet them. Faaroq whips Buchanan to a corner plants him for a big powerslam. Val gets the tag and jumps in. Faarooq makes the tag and they double team Val. Faarooq ends up fighting Buchanan on the floor. Bradshaw is beating up on Val who gets the tag in with the Goodfather. Goodfather pounds on Bradshaw and tags in Val again for a double team. Faarooq smashes Buchanan into a ringpost and jumps on the apron. Bradshaw is tossed to the ropes till he does a double clothesline and makes the tag. Bradshaw get in Val who is the legal man and do a huge double power bomb. Faarooq takes care of the rest as Bradshaw waits for Val to get back for the clothesline from hades and the pinfall win. Winner: The APA via pinfall. WWF Attitude Continues and Right to Censor will not be able to advise the WWF Board.__________________________________________________________ Backstage Stephanie is trying to look for Triple H. She finds him with some WWF crewmembers. Triple H says he just got a package and he opens it to reveal a shiny new sledgehammer. Triple H says it's three times as stronger than the one he uses. Stephanie says as much as she wants to see her father fall, she doesn't want Vince's life to end, "he's still my dad in the end". Triple H says there is no sympathy tonight, no mercy and he will destroy Vince whether she likes it or not. __________________________________________________________ WWF HARDCORE CHAMPIONSHIP: X-Pac (c) vs. The Big Show
X-Pac brings in two trashcans. The Big Show is in the ring and jumps for X-Pac who slides underneath him. It's more of a chase, X-Pac wants to slow down Show. Show goes nuts and tries to chase X-Pac around. X-Pac goes underneath the ring. Show being crazy enough to follow him can't seem to get in till suddenly he shouts. Apparently there was a huge mouse trap. X-Pac jumps from the top rope for a dropkick as Big Show manages to fall unto the spanish announce table. X-Pac throws in a table. Show is up and gets in the ring. X-Pac waits for Show and hits the ropes for a reverse bulldog, but Show was quick enough to chokeslam him unto the table! Show is pissed, he doesn't want this to end.
