Francona is great with the players and all that but hes a terrible in game manager, just like Doc Rivers. Seriously, he was brought in to get Curt Schilling. I just do not know what to do with him anymore, if the Red Sox blow this division he needs to go. Or as Omar would say "Francona gots to go"

I think hes getting the immunity because of 2004. Its like if we would have gotten ride of Torre half way through the year and promoted Donnie Baseball and we come back to win the division and win or play in the WS then everyone would praise Mattingly but we all know Torre is a better manager. Francona might not be the best manager in the league but he did something no other manager could do in 86 years and thats win a WS in Boston and it might hurt Boston in the end

LOL we're 4 games out of 1st place, havent played in a WS since 03, havent won one since '00....Just cause a team is loaded with all stars and talent doesnt mean you can sleep through the season and win. You can be the greatest 25 individual athletes in baseball but unless you can play as one you wont win crap Yes a Yankee fan sayin that high prices free agents arent the key to winning a world series LOL OMGZ!!

When i think of great managers i think of guys like Bobby Cox who have to work with what they have and still do something. Not someone like Joe Torre who has access to whatever players they want.

Divisions are not clinched in May. Absolutely not. Ive told all my anti-Yankee friends that all year long. I said "sure we're down by 14 games and the chances are slim and its a long road but its still a LOOOOONG season." Even after the all star break i told someone that theres aprox 80 games left if we go 50-30 and Boston goes 40-40 we take the division

Cause guys like Chuck Knoblauch, Jim Leyritz, Gerald Williams, Mariano Duncan, Scott Brosius, and Chad Curtis are guy that are at the top of Joe Torres most wanted list ;D

When i think of great managers i think of guys like Bobby Cox who have to work with what they have and still do something. Not someone like Joe Torre who has access to whatever players they want. Torre is a good players manager. I think he is very good at dealing with problem players, very good at managing situations where he has too many players and not enough spots to play them(example- Giambi, Damon, Cabrera, Duncan, Phillips all basically sharing 3 spots- DH, 1B and CF). I do think he is a piss poor game manager. He doesn't protect his players enough. Clemens drilling Rios was probably Roger acting on his own. He manages pitching staffs poorly, he won't leave a SP in long enough, he is too trigger happy with his bullpen, he generally tends to abuse one or two guys in the bullpen, andhe is too reliant on Rivera at times. Torre is a mixed bag. Is he a Hall of Fame manager- probably... 4 world series titles, and 6 world series appearances are hard to argue with. But I think he is a pretty mediocre manager for the most part.

His Batting Stance is Christ Im not sayin any of them suck. But you have to be honest. Look at the 96 or 98 team and compare them on paper to this year or last years team. Anyone with a right mind would choose the most recent Yankees team. But that goes back to my point about a team has to play as one

I am nervous about Francona, not the Yankees. I still think we have the better team, but his moves cost us 2 games this weekend. I just do not understand how he does things and gets immunity because hes great with the players, hes a moron Maybe he's getting marching orders from Theo Epstein to use Gagne.

Its a possibility, but Francona has been stupid many of times before hand.
