I like Eric Byrnes on the field, but he absolutely irritates the hell out of me when he does those stupid segments on FOX. The whole "skit" when he was in McCovey Cove during the All-Star game was dumb.

I agree with everything you just said, I'd love if he was on the Red Sox because you know he will always be running out every ground ball, and chasing fly balls in the outfield, I mean seriously he's on top 10 like twice a week. I'd much rather have him for 10 million than I would JD Drew 14 million. That is a good point.... When you have crybabies, and soft players like JD Drew making 14 million, I suppose giving 10 million to Byrnes who busts his ass on every play isn't overpaying.

Giving Byrnes that deal is a bad idea because they are practically giving up on Carlos Quentin and when he gets dealt to the White Sox or wherever, hes gonna put up 25/100/.280 type numbers for years to come.
But whatever, hes got cute blonde hair and likes to dive.

Well, it all goes back to the ridiculous contracts that sports players get, mainly in baseball. When teams are willing to overpay and give guys like JD Drew $14 million per year, Eric Byrnes' agent has an easy case when he approaches the D'Backs looking to get paid. It's only going to get worse, too. Whoever gets signed first this year - Andruw Jones or Torii Hunter - is going to get overpaid and set the market higher for the other guy in the open market.

Andruw Jones is younger, only by 2 years but does not have the wear and tear that Hunter has on his body.
But they are both gonna break the bank

I predict in the next few years, pitchers salaries will majorly increase, I mean if you got a good arm and can toss 200 innings a year, you're considered valuable... I mean ing Gil Meche is getting over 10 million a year.

Yeah, I can't wait to see how ridiculous andruw's contract will be, even after such a terrible contract year.

Chris Young still gonna start, its Carlos Quentin whos losing out oh, i know... i was just making a general proposal of my mancrush for chris young is it really set in stone that Quentin is gone? is Upton staying up permanently? if not, they could always just go with Byrnes/Young/Quentin and either trade Chad Tracy or play Tracy at 3rd over Reynolds.

one of either young or quentin is going to be traded. wayne krivsky came out with a ton of quotes where he basically said he has no idea what the future for the reds is and how he wants 13 pitchers because they need to learn how to lose. seriously this guy i want paul depodesta.
