Yah I dont watch the Cubs that often so I do not know a ton bout their pitching, Hill and Marshall and Marmol are studs.
Brewers are just weak and if the Cardinals didnt suck weiner, they could catch em.
The Cubs def can do it.
Roger Clemens sucks big balls, what a great move that was

11-8 Maybe an AROD walkoff 500th homer to win it is an order for today!

Brewers are just weak and if the Cardinals didnt suck weiner, they could catch em. The Cubs def can do it. Roger Clemens sucks big balls, what a great move that was Honestly I view Hill as this... Beckett gave up a TON of homers last year, we all see where he is this year. Having his best year ever now that he cut back on the home runs, and he's about the same age as Hill I think? Hill's 27 if I'm not mistaking, maybe 28.. isn't Beckett 26-28 or something around there? Hill has potential to improve a lot if he can just decrease on the longball. Marshall's having a rough day today but the ball's just flying, so oh well. We'll still probably come back and win because the Real Deal JD Durbin is pitching (kyle lohse is already dead with an injury. rip that trade)... but this guy's always projected as a great #3, or a good #2 and he's had great composure since last year... you know you've got something good when Greg Maddux speaks volumes about the kid. Marmol I can't say enough about, he's our closer of the future clearly... he's just absurd. Honestly, I have one concern about our rotation... and it's in a 5-game series if we happen to face a team like Atlanta or San Diego. Otherwise, I think we're as equiped as anyone in the NL. Zambrano-Lilly is a great 1-2, and Rich Hill/whoever's pitching well at the time whether it be Marquis or Marshall is a nice 3-4 in a playoff rotation. As for the pen setting up, 6-7-8-9 of Wuertz/Ohman/Eyre, and Wood/Marmol/Howry is very solid... Dempster at closer is a little rocky, but he gets the job done I have to say. Makes me nervous every time, but he gets it done. Eyre is pitching good lately, and Ohman is a nice specialist... plus Wuertz has been nice all year, and bumping him back to a 6-7th inning role would be a nice lift if we need pitching then. Wood staying healthy and being used appropriately is a HUGE lift too. But who knows. On that note, Friday I'm going to the Cubs game when Wood's being activated... That wouldn't be worth noting but... in 2005, I went to one of his returns from the DL's, in 2006 I went to his return from the DL, and now in 2007, I'm going to his season debut. I don't know what it is about attending Cubs games and Kerry Wood. Hopefully he can man up for once. And on the matter of Clemens, that's the best use of 28 million ever.

The Yankees got a quality starting pitcher mid-way through the season without having to give up anything but money, which they have an endless supply of. I'll take that alternative over shelling out Chamberlain, Hughes, Kennedy, etc. for a guy like Dontrelle Willis like this team would have done in the past. An ERA in the 4's is a respectable number...outside of today, Clemens has given the Yankees just about everything fans predicted. If you thought he was going to put up an ERA in the 2's like he did in the NL, you're only kidding yourself.

All of these? tell me Asia, living in New York City or wherever a Houston Astros fan like yourself resides in, where do you encounter cubs fans on a daily basis? or are you just trolling the cubs.com message boards? cuz if that's what you're reffering to, im sure if i browse asstros.com i can find a plethora of idiots... jason jennings, woody williams ftw! cubs have a 300 mil dollar payroll woe is the astros who spent 10 mil less than the cubs. wah

28$ million dollars for a guy who got booed off the mound. Insanely dumb heheheheh what is insanley dumb is throwing that kinda money at a 44 year old thinking he can save the day.
Dont worry, the Yankees will have a longer offseason this year, they can work on the pitching

If Marmol is the closer of the future, what is Wood IF IF IF he is healthy> Well, he sold one of his homes in Chicago... I'm not sure if it was his only home, but I know he did sell a house that he owns in Chicago or atleast put it up on the market. That atleast tells me he's preparing himself for the offseason should he land elsewhere. My guess is if he remains healthy the rest of the season, and fares well, we're going to let him walk. He'll get more money elsewhere than he'll get with us. Unless he's willing to give us yet another hometown discount due to the injuries (which honestly he owes us... again) like he did this past offseason. But who knows. I just think Marmol, from watching him pitch last year, is much better suited for the bullpen. When he starts, he loses his stuff by the 4th or 5th inning... in relief, he can give you 1-2 innings and be just absolutely filthy. He's gotta be viewed as our closer eventually. I think Dempster could possibly be moved into the rotation next spring... depends, but I know it's something he wants to do.

To me, the best part of the Clemens signing, was his WWE like entrance and promo he cut during the game.
