Congrats Big Frank. Definately would not have been the same franchise without you here for as long as you were. Glad we finally got that ring for you that you deserved. Congrats again.

Your Welcome from the yankos. The Red Sox are our daddys. I can't defend them after losing the series to the Orioles. I can only hope they can somehow get the wildcard. I love my Yankees and if they are going down this year I will go down with them. I still have hope for the wildcard. Will you be deleting this account if the Orioles sweep? No I learned my lesson last time. I am just lucky then won to reinstate me.

Yankees are reportedly in serious talks with the Angels about Shea Hillenbrand. I really hope we can land him. A good right-handed batter...plus, he's damn sure a step up from Cairo, Phillips, Phelps, etc. at first base. As long as we're not giving up anything huge to get him, I think it's a good move. Obviously you haven't been watching the games, because even though the Yankees are TERRIBLE, Miguel Cairo has been EXCELLENT at first base and one of the ONLY guys on the team not making deffensive errors or running the bases like Ray Charles. He's also batting .281 in his last 10 games (32 at bats). Why would we want to put a cancer in the clubhouse like Shea Hillenbrand who HATES everyone and everybody hates him and he would probably try to fist fight the entire team because the Yankees are 32523532532 games behind everything and have a snow balls chance in hell of making the playoffs. I say keep Cairo.

yeah, seriously. you don't want hillenbrand. all he does is bitch and complain about everything. if he doesnt get the everyday job, then he'll want out. if he gets a day off, he'll take it the wrong way and then want to fight torre or something. like lorenzo said, hes a cancer for the clubhouse

That's cool and pretty reasonable, I remember when Sheffielfd hit his 400th home run and the guy tried to sell him the ball for like a couple thousand dollars and Sheff was like "keep the ing ball".

When you're making 13 million dollars, a couple of thousand is pocket change to a guy like Sheffield. Not to mention, Sheff has always been a lousy human being... so people should try to extort him. If I caught a valuable ball, it depends who the player was... a good ambassador to the game like Griffey, or Jeter, or Jim Thome... someone like that, I'd probably fork it over for some memorabillia... a guy like Bonds, or Sheffield... I'll stick em up for cash. If they don't like it, tough shit...

Yeah, I gotta admit. If I got that Bonds ball, I'd ask for a ing kings ransom, or I would auction off the rights to destroy it, and see how much someone would pay to destroy it. If it was Griffey, Chipper, or someone cool, I would basically ask for what that guy did. To meet the player, get some pictures with him and the ball, some autographed memorabilia, and maybe something cool like a chance to hangout in the clubhouse before the game and meet the players, or something like that.

He makes the plays, and doesn't bitch about anything. He hits for a decent-overpar average, and, really, besides the roided-up (or so they think ) Giambi gets back, really, I think nothing can stop Miggy from excelling even more at the position, and, I'd be glad if the had him start instead of Doug Me-.....I'm not even gonna bother. As far as I'm concerned...Yankees: "Just say "NO."

Bonds ball I'd ransom but if Ortiz hit his 500th HR or something, I'd pretty much make him my BFF...hats, balls, bats, jerseys, buying me a beer, playing hop scotch. The cops would need to get a restraining order for me after the ball was traded.

So because Hillenbrand has a bad attitude, you don't want him? When has that ever stopped this team before? If he's playing every day, there won't be any problems.
Getting Hillenbrand is a low risk, high reward type of deal that should be made if it's available. It gives the Yankees the ability to DL Damon through the All Star break and plug Hillenbrand into the DH spot while keeping Cairo at first base.
What's the worst case scenario? It's not like the team can play any worse than they've shown lately. If he becomes a problem, you just DFA him like the Jays and Angels did.

I'll take him... this team needs a decent RH bat in the worst way. And he is much better than Andy Phillips

You see, I have to disagree with you guys. If I caught a historic ball of one of the " good guys"( Griffey, Thomas, Manny), I'd probably ask for a king's ransom because I'd want to keep it. But if I caught a ball from a prick, I wouldn't ask for much since I wouldn't want it.
