This umpire crew is a joke. They should have waited before calling a rain delay... You think they should have waited LONGER? I hope you made a typo and mean they should NOT have waited so long.....because water was POURING off of Mike Mussina's shoulders and his jersey was soaked. The Umpires never should have started that inning, because now Moose has got 2nd and 3rd with nobody out, probably because he lost his grip on the ball or the mound and his pitches didn't do what he wanted. This is set up to be a BIG inning for the Red Sox

If the delay goes longer than a half hour, Mussina probably won't even come back out. He's really finiky and strict with stuff like that...

He was throwing in the mid 80's, it was just a matter of time before Ortiz and Manny sat on them and got a hold him. He is a really risky pick going forward this season. He was garbage 2 starts ago, great last start and might be on the verge of being in trouble here.

How is he on the verge of being in trouble? Even if Manny and Ortiz both score, he's still pitched a solid game so far. Schilling has been working in and out of trouble the entire game, like Moose.

Ortiz walked....he didn't sit on anything other than the bat on his shoulders.....I believe Mussina has walked him twice, so it's not like Ortiz is hitting Mussina. And Manny DID crush that ball, I just don't like how Moose had to walk Ortiz to lead off the inning. BTW, I was just thinking about this.....isn't it crazy how they always say that lead-off walks score like 87% of the time.....why don't lead-off singles and doubles score as often? lol

Ortiz got a single earlier, but my point is that he throws 80's, its amazing he hasnt gotten crushed a lot more, but eventually people will. Hes not filthy anymore, and hes not Greg Maddux.
Its beautiful in Waltham right now, which is 10 miles away from Fenway

Its beautiful in Waltham right now, which is 10 miles away from Fenway Moose was never really a hard thrower....His fastball used to get closer to 92...now its around 87-90....but if he can locate his offspeed pitches, he shouldn't run into that much trouble. The PROBLEM is when he can't locate his offspeed pitches for strikes and then he's forced to come in with a mediocre fastball.....that is when he gets crushed. Mussina just gets himself into bad counts, he gets everybody 0-2 and then IMEDIATY the count is 3-2 because he isn't agressive enough to put people away....he is too picky and tries to nip corners.

If A-Rod did that play to ANYONE, you would never hear the end of how dirty it was...

Yeah, A-Rod would've kicked Cano in the nuts if he was Lowell

Actually, A-Rod would've grabbed the ball out of Cano's hand and threw it into right field.

Wait, no, A-Rod would've grabbed the ball from Cano, swallowed it, then poo'ed the ball into his hand and threw his stool all over Cano's face.

The Yankees are just ing jinxed...it's seriously unbelievable how many injuries this team has had to deal with. I know they haven't played up to their capabilities, but losing your 20-year-old top prospect for relatively the rest of the season in a no-hitter in the 8th inning was just a bad omen that set all of this off.
