Sax, flute and clarinet. I'm self taught on the piano, but I'm still a rookie all things considered. I can read piano scales and understand them, but I learned what I did by ear and went from there by using my brass classical style training. See below. I played flute and clarinet in grade school. When I got to middle school and started performing with the high school kids, I was the ONLY boy who played clarinet or flute (surprise, surprise). So, instead of being smart and taking advantage of being the only rooster in a hen house, I talked with my band director and he said I should consider saxophone. He had me work a couple of weeks on a loaner alto sax to get everything down and I picked it up almost instantly. He knew money was tight for me and mum so he knew I couldn't buy a new or used sax and he couldn't let me take the loaner home, so he made me a deal. If I'd join the brass section, he would give me his old, personal baritone sax. I'd be responsible for the mouth piece, pad replacements, cork fixes and reeds, but I agreed and he gave it to me. Played it all through school. Still have it. I've since shrunk down to a tenor, because the sound is higher, but not quite alto...nice smooth jazzy sound, and it can play low and high enough for when I would do church orchestra stuff, and I've taken to transposing some rock music to sax and tenor fits best. I'm thankful for him giving me that instrument because music means a lot. I could have done clarinet, stayed, and just marched through the motions to get band practice as an essentially free period. But I got the sax, and as a result I still play...though not as much as I'd like, admittedly. What a complete and total mark. You let me spend how many years taking the heat as the WFWF's resident former band geek, and all this time you were packin' almost as many instruments as me? What a heel. I'm only here to stooge on a guy, but since I'm here....yeah, guitar for 22ish years, bass, drums - pretty much the rock band gamut. I picked up trumpet to join the band my sophomore year of high school, got bounced over to baritone horn by junior year, made section leader by senior. Ukulele, mandolin. All self taught. Like to get my hands on a sax and see what happens there. Piano's a lost cause, but I can bang out some basic root/3/5s when the occasion calls for it. Hey, it's not like you ever brought it up in the form of a question. I had no obligation to tell anyone I was a band geek if the question wasn't asked. Though admittedly Thunder knew because our schools played against each other a lot in high school. Joke's on you old man.

When I went to middle school, you had to start band in the 6th grade, or you could never join. For whatever reason, I didn't join then, but when I went to 7th grade, they had a beginner class, so I joined. I wanted to play sax, but I was told the 7th grade band had too many, but if I played the clarinet, I could easily transition to the sax. Well, I got so good with the clarinet that I played that until I graduated high school. But during that time, I did eventually get to play an alto sax in jazz band, a baritone clarinet in concern seasons in high school, and I got to march the quad-tom drums my senior year because they always sat the clarinets next to the drums in the stands during Friday night football games, and I learned to play them by watching and listening. Today, I don't play any, I just use turntables.

Guitar and drums. I've done both but probably prefer guitar w/ somebody else on drums.
I also have a Korg MS2000 and a sampler (also made by Korg) that I like to fool around with. I wouldn't say I can play keyboard much, though.

In high school & college, I payed trombone and bass guitar. Trumpet for a while in middle school. Been a heck of a long time, however. Does Guitar Hero count (although THAT'S been a long time as well).

I did in school. 6th through 8th grade, I played the clarinet. Then in December 2001, I started taking drum lessons. For a year and a half, I stuck with it. Wondered whether or not I'd progress. The tutor kept giving me snare drum solo pieces. Nothing else. I was quickly getting the hang of everything he'd give me weekly to practice. And getting nowhere. So I stopped. I own a bass now, but haven't made myself learn to play it.

I have the classic "bought his first axe at a pawn shop at 16" backstory. I've only gotten serious about playing in the last few years, though. I dabble in drums, bass, and piano also.

I am a part-time musician, and my weapon of choice is electric/acoustic bass, but I have recently been playing acoustic guitar. I am also an avid vocalist, and I love the keyboard. I used to play saxophone in school as well.
