Music, excitement, pyro that doesn’t go off because it was set up a month ago when these results were meant to be finished. It’s WFWF Power Struggle!
Alecia Matthews: Ladies and gentlemen welcome to the final WFWF show of 2017!
Daniel Knight: I feel like we definitely could have fitted in another show if we’d tried hard enough.
Alecia Matthews: I for one was happy for the break. Either way we’re ending the year in style with the in-ring return of Michael Kyzer!
Daniel Knight: Not only that but we’ve got the big contract signing between Trace Demon and Frank Lynn and a big tag team match which we’ll be… wait, what’s going on?
The usual fanfare to open the show is ended abruptly as Phillip Schneider charges to the ring, a baseball bat wrapped in barbed wire over one shoulder and a steel chair in the other hand. Schneider isn’t dressed to compete, but rather in a black button down shirt and black slacks with his hair tied back. Schneider throws his chair into the ring, then grabs a microphone before entering the ring himself.
Phillip Schneider: Phone calls do not work around this place. Emails do not work around this place. I’ve left voicemails, I’ve sent messages on Facebook, I’ve sent DMs on Twitter. I have showed up at the office and started breaking stuff. I know you people know what I want, so how about you just come out here, peacefully give it to me, and no one gets hurt? If you think this show is going any further until I get what I came here for, you’re insane.
A referee has made his way down the entrance ramp, presumably to officiate the first match, or to peacefully escort Schneider out of the ring. He slides into the ring under the bottom rope and catches a swift barbed wire baseball bat shot to the face. The referee crumbles on his hands and knees. Schneider grabs the referee by the back of the shirt, ripping his referee shirt to shreds. The referee has a tanktop on underneath, which Schneider promptly destroys in the same way. Bloodied and stripped, the referee rolls to the floor for safety.
Phillip Schneider: He did not have what I needed. I would advise if you are not the person I need, with what I need, you do not enter this ring. Friendly reminder, I have no sympathy.
Daniel Knight: Someone call the police. Just arrest him. I’m so tired of him showing up and taking the show hostage and violently assaulting people like this.
Two security guards have made their way down the aisle. Schneider grabs his chair, flinging it over the top rope and wiping one of them out. The other foolishly rolls into the ring. He’s struck with the barbed wire bat once. He reaches for his pepper spray, likely for self defense, but fumbles the can. Schneider grabs it and absolutely douses the security guard with it. Guard 1 rolls out of the ring blinded. Guard 2 rolls in, and catches a dose of pepperspray as well. Schneider kicks the blinded guard in the balls, sending him collapsing to the floor the same way as the previous two entrants.
Phillip Schneider: This can go on all night, give. Me. What. I. Want!
To end the madness, Lila Sleater makes her way out onto the stage with a microphone in hand.
Lila Sleater: You think this is how you get what you want? You think this is how it works? I seen your messages, I heard your voicemails, and I was dealing with it in the time that was allowed to me. But when you come out here, injuring referees and staff? The answer is no. Furthermore, this constant mayhem and destruction you seem to cause whenever you appear stops now. Effective immediately, you’re suspended. Is that what you wanted? Get him out of there.
With this, a whole swarm of security guards rush the ring.
Alecia Matthews: Fans, we’ll be back.
David Brennan & Lucas Crowe vs. Billy Broom & Griffin Chase
You might think that David Brennan and Lucas Crowe would have little trouble here facing off with two relative newcomers to the WFWF and that might have been true if the duo were on the same page. That wasn’t the case though, as you’d probably expect when one half of the team is the WFWF World Champion and the other is as motivated as Lucas Crowe. That meant the story of the match revolved around Broom and Griffin trying to work together to topple their more experienced but equally more dysfunctional opponents. And the longer the match went on the more that worked for them as Brennan and Crowe seemed to wind each other up more and more, tagging themselves in at the expense of the other and even openly arguing with each other at multiple points, each time giving Broom and Chase not just time to recover but to retaliate. Eventually though the experience, and Brennan and Crowe’s desire to win, shone through as Brennan sidestepped Griffin’s Burning Knee and planted him to the mat with the Charles River Plunge. Lucas Crowe played interference, booting Broom clean in the face on the outside while Brennan made the cover and got the three!
Christa Adina: And your winners… David Brennan and Lucas Crowe!
Alecia Matthews: Brennan and Crowe pick up the win tonight but it very nearly looked like we’d be seeing a big upset.
Daniel Knight: Big names have big egos, and those egos were on full display. They came through with the win though and you can bet Brennan will now have both eyes firmly on the main event.
Alecia Matthews: As will most of the roster with Michael Kyzer in action for the first time in a very long time.
As the show returns Daniel Knight stands in the ring, which has been set up for the contract signing between Frank Lynn and Trace Demon. It’s a simple set up. A desk, two chairs and two microphones, anything more would be to invite the inevitable outbreak of violence. Even what has been provided is likely too much.
Daniel Knight: Ladies and gentlemen two weeks ago a blockbuster match was announced. At our next show, All or Nothing, Frank Lynn will compete in a match that very much embodies that show name. If he wins then Frank Lynn will be general manager of the WFWF for one night, an opportunity to show everyone exactly what he envisions the future of wrestling to be. If he loses, the revolution is over, done, finished. Tonight we sign the contract for that very match, so without further ado I’d like you all to welcome Frank Lynn.
“Anthem of the Space” blares over the P/A system as Frank Lynn steps onto the entrance stage dressed in street clothes - hiking boots, blue jeans, “Join the Revolution!” t-shirt, and brown leather bomber jacket. He is alone, his manager Daphne not accompanying him on this night. He has a large bandaid stuck to his forehead where Phillip Schneider opened him up.
Frank takes a moment to acknowledge the crowd and then strides to the ring doing his best to hide the injuries he suffered at International Assault. It becomes obvious how much he is still hurting as he slowly climbs the ring steps one at a time and gingerly steps between the ring ropes, rubbing his shoulders as he approaches Daniel Knight.
Alecia Matthews: Frank Lynn has a huge opportunity at All or Nothing but tonight he’s looking a little worse for wear thanks to that heinous attack by Phillip Schneider just a couple of weeks ago.
Frank shakes Daniel Knight’s hand and takes one of the microphones off of the table. He takes his place on the far side of the desk from the ramp way but doesn’t sit down, making Knight a little uneasy.
Daniel Knight: Welcome Frank. You look like you’re still recovering from your injuries. Are you ready for this?
Frank Lynn: I’m not wrestling tonight so it doesn’t matter. I’m well enough to sign a piece of paper. Let’s get on with it.
Daniel Knight: Is there anything you would like to say before we bring your opponent out?
Frank Lynn: I’ll keep it short. Talking is more Trace’s bag than mine. The man’s in love with the sound of his own voice. I’m a man of action. Anybody who knows me knows that. Unfortunately, I’ve been doing a bit too much talking recently carrying on in Joe Bishop’s footsteps as I try to reform the WFWF into something respectable. That’s why I put forth my ultimatum to Lila. The time for talking is over. It’s time for action. I’m going to beat Trace Demon and earn the right to be GM for a day. Then I’ll show everybody what all the talk has been about. I’ll show you all that the revolution is a better way that benefits everybody, even Lila Sleater and Trace Demon. My actions will speak far louder than any of Trace Demon’s words.
Daniel Knight: Thank you for keeping it brief. And now, everybody welcome Frank’s opponent - Trace Demon.
As the opening chords of “Seizure of Power” hit the speakers all eyes turn to the stage. Tonight there’s no fancy light show, no darkness, no dramatics. There’s just Trace Demon, the King of Demons walking out onto the stage with a smirk on his face, but that’s all it takes to set the crowd off into a huge chorus of boos. Trace, clad in a black t-shirt, dark jeans and his signature red leather jacket, which is what passes for formal wear from the King of Demons these days, begins making his way down towards the ring.
Alecia Matthews: I don’t think anybody, maybe barring Frank Lynn, was more surprised than me when Lila Sleater announced Trace Demon as Frank’s mystery opponent. So far we’re no closer to answers from either party as to why Trace would ally himself with a woman he seems to despise.
Trace Demon seems to feed off of the reaction of the crowd, his smirk never fading as he makes his way down the ramp. He looks towards the ring, towards Frank Lynn in particular, the King of Demons climbing up the steel ring steps and entering into the ring between the ropes. He slaps Daniel Knight purposefully hard on the back, almost sending the commentator into the table as a result, and picks up the second microphone. He too declines the option to take a seat, his eyes still turned on Lynn.
Trace Demon: Hey Frank, did you miss me? Told you you hadn’t seen the last of me though, didn’t I?
Frank holds his tongue, at least for now.
Trace Demon: Well Knight? You’re meant to be moderating this thing, right? I’m sure you’ve got a question for me?
Daniel Knight: Well I think the obvious question we all have is-
Trace Demon: Why’d I do it, right? That’s what you were gonna ask, wasn’t it?
Daniel Knight: Well, yes, it was.
Trace Demon: Oh Daniel, come on, isn’t it obvious? All you people, all you’ve been asking me is why Trace, why would you work with Lila Sleater? Why would Lila Sleater work with you? Every single person I speak to seems to be incapable of seeing the obvious. And it is obvious. Why would two people who hate each other, who despite everything the other stands for, work together? Because at the end of the day it doesn’t matter who you like or who you hate, the only thing that matters is getting what you want. And what Lila wants is to shut Frank Lynn’s pathetic revolution down for good. What Lila wants is for you Frank to finally acknowledge that you’re not gonna change this company because it doesn’t want to be changed. And to do that all Lila needed to do was find somebody willing and able to kick the sh*t out of you.
He signals to himself, smiling widely.
Trace Demon: But of course to all you simpletons that probably doesn’t answer the question of why, oh why Trace, why are you working with Lila, what do you get out of this? Answers simple. I want to finish what I started when I broke Joe Bishop.
Frank Lynn’s eyes snap onto Trace, stonier than ever before at the mere mention of his former ally.
Trace Demon: Oh you remember right Frank? What I did to Joe? When I took that baseball bat and shattered his knee into pieces? I did that simply because I could, simple because I felt like it. But I didn’t just take that bat to Joe Bishop’s knee, I took it to his precious revolution as well and now I want to finish the job. You see Frank you’ve been riding pretty high on the fact you managed to beat me, you’ve used that to push this little revolution further than Joe ever did. And now you’re just one win away from getting exactly what you want. The chance to change things. The chance to make a difference. So what sweeter moment could there possibly be than ripping that right out from under you? From beating you and ending this revolution once and for all? I can’t think of any.
Finally Frank speaks up.
Frank Lynn: You really think Lila trusts you? That you can trust her? The two of you will tear each other apart before you even make it to the ring.
Trace Demon: Trust? We don’t trust each other Franky boy, but we do trust that I can get the job done. See Lila, despite everything she says about me, knows how good I am, and she trusts me to beat you. We don’t have to like each other, we don’t have to trust each other, and the moment that bell rings and I’m stood over you I’m pretty damn sure we’ll go back to trying to destroy each other! And I wouldn’t have it any other way. Frank, this is what you don’t understand, this is why this revolution of yours will never be successful. Because you just don’t have the balls to get things done around here. You’re too busy preaching about sportsmanship and fair play and all that bullsh*t that has no place in the WFWF. These fans aren’t here for all of that they’re here to be entertained and to watch people tear each other apart!
Frank Lynn: You’re wrong Trace.
Trace Demon: I’m wrong? I’m wrong? Why do you think that people are only talking about three things after our last show? One, me being your opponent, two, Phillip Schneider humiliating and dominating you on live TV and three, David Brennan booting a little kid? Does any of that sound like your WFWF Frank? Or does it sound like reality? Because that’s why I’m bringing to your door. A big old dose of reality. And when I’m done, and there’s nothing even left for Schneider to come after, then the WFWF can go back to it’s regularly scheduled programming and we can leave this revolution in the trash where it belongs. And if you’re afraid that you’re gonna get the same treatment as Joe… you’re right. I’m going to end you, I’m gonna put you on the shelf and watch as I turn this company into my own personal playground. You call me the king of the sh*t show? Well I’m gonna prove you’re nothing more than a court jester.
Trace throws the microphone aside, grabs the pen and signs the contract. He pushes it across the desk to Lynn, signaling for him to go ahead. Lynn doesn’t hesitate, puts pen to paper immediately.
Frank Lynn: You make some interesting points Trace. First, you don’t have to trust someone to work with them. Ironic really for you to say that because it is the heart of the revolution. No two wrestlers are ever going to trust each other because it is our job, our goal in life to physically beat each other and prove who is the better man on any given night. But in the revolution all wrestlers work together to insure that win or lose, both men are able to come back and try again at the next show. Competition needs competitors! I know you crave the spotlight. How bright is that spotlight you so desperately crave if there is nobody left for you to beat? Do you really think anybody will be tuning in for three hours of the Trace Demon and Lila Sleater show? If so, then you are most assuredly over-estimating your appeal. Second, you talked about the reality of the WFWF, how the sh*t show is what it is and how we all better get used to it. I reject your reality and substitute my own. That’s what great men do. When they see something that is wrong they don’t accept the status quo, they do something to change it.
Frank pauses to let his words sink in, more so with the crowd than with Trace Demon.
Frank Lynn: Third, you talked about breaking Joe Bishop, breaking the revolution, and ending me. Another ironic twist of words seeing that it was me who broke you! That’s right Trace. When I choked you out, something snapped inside that feeble little mind of yours. You went on a series of pre-match attacks that showed you were afraid to step in the ring again. I mean, if an unheralded rookie like Frank Lynn could put you to sleep what would a “real” wrestler like the Future or Devilkiller do to you? Oh sure, you got some confidence back after taking care of Lucas Crowe but does the phrase “sloppy seconds” mean anything to you? Bottom line, I beat you once and I WILL beat you again. You are right that the revolution will end at All or Nothing, but not in the way you think. The revolution will end because I will win and a new WFWF will be born from the ashes of your defeat. You better learn to change with the times or it is you who will meet his end at All or Nothing!
Frank stares into Trace’s eyes, points his finger, and mouths the word “Bang.” Trace actually smiles, nods at Lynn... and then drives his forehead straight into Lynn's skull with a sickening head-butt! Lynn collapses onto one knee, his head swirling from the surprise blow, but the King of Demons drags him back up onto his feet and slams him head first into the desk. Daniel Knight quickly high tails it out of the ring as Lynn collapses to the canvas and tries to crawl across the ring. Trace pounces, mounting Lynn from behind, yanking his head up and then biting down into Frank's forehead! There's an audible gasp of horror from the crowd as Trace Demon digs his teeth into the stitches Lynn received after Phillip Schneider's shocking attack, the King of Demons literally tearing the stitches free with his teeth! Blood pours out of the freshly reopened cut down Lynn's face and onto the ring apron as Trace drags him up onto his feet, doubles him over and underhooks the arms. Trace pauses for a moment, smirking, blood staining his teeth, before lifting Frank Lynn up and planting him through the hard wooden table with the Demonstration of Hell!
Alecia Matthews: This is just too far, Frank Lynn was already hurt after Schneider's attack and now this? I'm not sure if he'll be in any fit state to compete at All or Nothing.
Finally trainers and security rush the ring to separate the two but the damage is done. Trace Demon rolls out of the ring, his arms spread wide, his blood stained grin a sickening testament to his pride of this disgusting attack. Frank Lynn lies among the shattered remnants of the table, blood still dripping down from his cut, his face a crimson mask. After this latest attack it's beginning to look a lot like All or Nothing will be just that for Frank Lynn... if he can even make it that far.
Michael Kyzer vs. Ante Whitner
The WFWF Multiverse were on edge for this one, a real electricity flowing through the building as Michael Kyzer stepped into the ring for the first time in over a year against the very man who saw him off, Ante Whitner. In Kyzer’s mind this match was meant to be all about his return so it probably didn’t go down too well when Ante Whitner jumped him the moment the bell rung, the Bloodied Eagle just going in on Kyzer. Michael Kyzer suddenly found himself on the back foot and so the match continued throughout the first half as Ante again proved himself a serious force to be reckoned with. Kyzer attempted to flee to the outside but Ante followed him out, the two brawling around the outside area with Whitner seemingly getting the upper hand. That’s when Kyzer pulled a fast one, drawing Whitner towards the steel steps. Ante charged at Kyzer only for the Stoned Messiah to sidestep and send Whitner crashing knees first into the steps, Kyzer doubling the damage as he chop blocked Whitner’s knees forcefully into the steel!
Suddenly Kyzer had his target, the returning former WFWF World Champion targeting the leg as he attempted to immobilise his prey. Taking the match back to the ring Kyzer used a variety of technical manoeuvres and painful looking holds to work over the knee of Ante Whitner. Ante still had fight in him, attempting to fight back numerous times only for Kyzer to go for the knee again, taking Whitner’s momentum, and his leg, right out from under him. A valiant effort by Whitner seemed futile as Kyzer was relentless and methodical in his attack… but then Ante caught Kyzer out of nowhere with a big roundhouse to the skull! Whitner followed up with the Enzuigiri, and then hit a violent looking brainbuster near the corner. Whitner slowly ascended to the top rope as he waited for a dazed Michael Kyzer to rise, the Bloodied Eagle looking to fly with The Ghost… but then his knee buckled out from under him! Kyzer caught him in the skull with a boot and then scooped him out from the corner, dropping him with The Kyzer Effect! Kyzer draped his body across Whitner’s as the official counted the three. Michael Kyzer getting the win on his return to action!
Christa Adina: Ladies and gentlemen the winner of tonight’s main event… Michael Kyzer!
Kyzer props himself up in the corner, worn down from the match he just had with Ante Whitner. He calls for a microphone.
Kyzer: David…
He pauses a moment to look out over the Mexico City crowd. They don’t like him here either. Kyzer loves it.
Kyzer: David, I think I still have my legs. Are you ready? Soon, my son. But there is another stop on the Kyzer Return Tour. I am not done. There is something to prove before we get into the ring. Call it an open challenge I guess. Anyone who hates me and wants to step into the ring with me, come right ahead. I don’t give a f~ck who it is. I am going to f~ck up some poor hapless soul just so you can watch, David. I do this for you. I don’t want you to have any doubts in your head when we face whether I am ready or rusty.
Kyzer gets distracted by some Mexican talking sh~t at ringside. He spits on The Mexican. The Mexican throws a tamale at him. The Mexican misses.
Kyzer: off cholo.
The Mexican continues to yell in Mexican.
Kyzer: Anyways, I have something for you to look forward. David, I am bringing you a present. Have you ever stood before a Dragon?
A tamale hits Kyzer. The Mexican laughs some stupid intellectually- disabled person laugh. Kyzer slides out of the ring and walks up to The Mexican. The crowd is going crazy as Kyzer says something at smaller man. The Mexican spits on Kyzer. Kyzer launches himself at The Mexican landing several shots on the fan before security pulls him back from the crowd. Kyzer is screaming obscenities in English. The fans are screaming obscenities in Mexican. Several fans jump the barrier trying to come after Kyzer. Security catches most of them. One slips through and Kyzer immediately kicks a female fan in the tit. Trash is being thrown and the crowd has turned hostile. Kyzer laughs as he backs his way towards the entranceway and away from the near riot he just caused. The crowd continue to push against the barricade, security pushing them back. Alecia Matthews, Daniel Knight and the rest of the ring crew all beat a hasty retreat as the final WFWF show of 2017 ends in controversial fashion and with Michael Kyzer back in the WFWF it looks like there’ll be plenty more of that in 2018…
