I hate promos that break the 4th wall like that. It was a little interesting hearing them go at each other's throats like that but it's just so stupid for them to mention burying young talent, shovels, Heel turns etc. Imagine watching a movie and the characters start arguing "how did you get a leading role playing that character? C'mon your acting sucks man, I don't want to work with you". I agree in principle. Don't get me wrong, I enjoyed the hell out of the promo, but they end up alienating a portion of the audience by doing this stuff. It's fine when there's a few little nods here and there, but, aside from the original Punk pipe bomb, these things almost never end up moving the company forward in any positive way, or paying off the people these promos cater to. It leads to disappointment all around. I'm willing to excuse this one, though, because this feud was DOA without it. We heard it tonight - it wasn't just Brooklyn. This crowd did not give a single damn about these guys or this match until they went full on worked-shoot. They needed a huge shot in the arm to save this feud (which I'm sure they saw huge things for) and they got it here. |

I was against Sasha winning the title at Summerslam because I wanted to see them stop playing hot potato with that title (and also because the match didn't have a whole lot behind it.)
I'm rooting for Sasha tonight for the same reason. Stop playing hot potato. Champ should retain.
