Not sure how true it is, but I just read that Mike Goldberg is leaving after 207 this Friday. If true, I hate it. Rogan/Goldberg are an iconic duo, imo. If he really does leave, I would love to see WWE try and sign him.

Yeah I read about that too. Apparently it has to do with the new owners wanting to increase profits by an enormous rate very soon, and they're looking to go in new directions across several areas. I'm not a fan of that Anik guy, so hopefully they have someone else in line to pair up with Rogan moving forward.

Hell of a run Goldberg had - IMO the true 'voice' of the UFC.
Hopefully Bruce Buffer hangs around for a while longer...

Really surprising to hear about Goldie leaving... sounds as though it wasn't his choice either. I wonder if Anik will replace him on PPVs or if they'll bring someone new in? Whatever though, it's the end of an era... or to quote the man himself: "It is all over!"

Not so sure about this. He always has a sarcastic, smarmy way about him that may become insufferable rather quickly. Supposedly he's good pals with Dana and part of the new owners though. I still remember when that football QB almost beat the piss out of him on TV for being a smart ass.
I had hoped to see Max Kellerman make a transition to MMA after listening to him for years on HBO boxing. He always showed a genuine love for the fights during shows, and was very knowledgeable on the fighters/styles.

Cruz/Cody should be great... my money's on Cruz by UD though (sorry!). Anything could happen with Nunes/Rousey... I'd like to see Ronda get the win - but I worry she might be too aggressive again and get picked-off (like in the Holm fight). WOW...by UD? Not a Garbrandt fan or dont think he can make enough contact with Cruz? Hell of a run Goldberg had - IMO the true 'voice' of the UFC. Hopefully Bruce Buffer hangs around for a while longer... ...apparently Jim Rome is in talks to be play-by-play. Interesting...not my first choice... I am sad about Goldberg leaving as well. Dude is fantastic. I prefer him over Rogan. I was hearing it might be Runallo. Kellerman would be killer, but he just signed on with First Take, so I dont think it could be him. If its Jim Rome....FORGET IT! He has one of the absolute most annoying speech patterns on earth. How this guy does talk radio is beyond me. In addition, it wasnt too long ago that Rome shat all over MMA as a sport. Rome is a total douche and a sell out. I am going out on the limb and I am gonna predict that Rousey loses to Nunez tomorrow via TKO. She seems off with her media silence.

Agreed - this is now an era where the UFC loses another part of the identity we've come to get accustomed to...so many incredible moments have Goldberg's voice attached to it...can't fathom anyone else at this time filling those shoes... Either way, with Rousey's media blackout she still gets people talking...I watched the Countdown recently and it was good - but new comments from her would've helped it more I reckon.

I just think Cruz is on another level (to all Bantamweights). I can see him avoiding most of Cody's good punches and out-working him. We shall see though - really looking forward to this fight. RE. Mike Goldberg: I wonder if they'll acknowledge that it's his last show tomorrow - or if Joe will say "goodbye" to him? I hope they say something...

Mike Goldberg: I wonder if they'll acknowledge that it's his last show tomorrow - or if Joe will say "goodbye" to him? I hope they say something... I was just wondering your take on Cody vs. Cruz. Cruz is a strong favorite in this fight via Vegas odds. I've seen a lot of MMA experts and even a good number of fighters pick Cruz to win. Yet, most fans seem to be picking Cody to win. I am definitely stoked for this. A true clash of styles and a true fight where 2 guys DESPISE one another. I think a lot of it is rooted in hype though. Cody got to a point where he was a top 5 fighter, Dillashaw was being ignored for a rematch for some reason and Cody recognized that he could get himself a title fight if he could sell this fight to the fans and to the media. He did just that. Like Mickey Gall did with Punk and Northcutt and Connor does...marketing and drawing interest plays a huge role for UFC putting fights together. It is smart to be someone that UFC can have that can draw attention...good, bad or ugly. One of the biggest reasons I have heard experts and fighters say they think Cruz will win is because they believe that Cruz's speed will keep him away from suffering enough damage for Cody to win. I argue that Cody is just as fast as Cruz and his speed his very, very deceptive. I think you really get a look at it when he closes in. Cody's ground game is my concern. Has he done enough work on defending submissions and getting himself vertical against a master like Dom. I dont know. Everything I have seen of his training has been his offensive game and not defending Dom's. But Cody is too damn smart and Team Alpha Male KNOWS Dom so well...they would never allow Cody to step into the Octagon unprepared for that ground attack. But can Cody do enough to avoid? Has it been confirmed that its definitely Goldberg's last fight? I hope WWE or TNA or some wrestling company scoops this guy up. In a time where play by play is awful outside of Runallo, Goldberg is a God send. Can you imagine Goldberg and Cory Graves calling Raw? Graves, on a side note, is FAN INGTASTIC! If Jim Rome calls fights, I'll probably have to put them on mute. Thats how horrible this guy is. He's an agitator too. I could see him getting knocked out if he pokes and pokes someone too much. A Brock Lesnar interview by Jim Rome could be historical. Thats someone that I could see Rome just needling at. Steroids, spousal abuse, pro wrestling is fake, why are you so grumpy? Rome would never let it go.

Yeah, DW confirmed 207 would be Goldberg's last show during the media-scrum... he wouldn't go into any more details though. It'll be interesting to see if WWE go after Goldie... I know they were really interested in him a few years ago. And I totally agree about Cory Graves - he's the best thing to happen to the RAW commentary in YEARS... I love his classic Bobby Heenan-style heel commentary.

I love his classic Bobby Heenan-style heel commentary. He is a modern day heel Heenan. I've always been a fan and felt he was a gifted speaker....but not this damn good. I was on the Luke Thomas show today discussing Cody/Cruz media incident today where Cody attempted to go through the wall to kill Cruz. Anyone hear this interview? They were separated in rooms next to one another and were on headsets. Cruz told Cody to put his girl on a leash and Cody went ape shit, ripping the microphone off and attempting to get out the room. Cruz continued to goad him. I also heard that Jeremy "Who Da Fook Is Dat Guy?" Stephens and Cody got into a physical altercation this week, having to be restrained by UFC officials. No major blows were exchanged, but both men were heated and both did get physical. When that cage door locks...I promise you...Dominic Cruz is going to get hurt. There isnt a need to drag Cody's girl into this.

Please let it be anyone other than Rome on commentary. I cannot stand him. There is not a single thing I like about him. I can usually find something I like about any of the sports pundits and commentators but not Rome. I hear his voice and I just want to punch something.
I wouldn't mind if they had Rogan with a different guest fighter each time out because a lot of the UFC guys are actually pretty good on commentary.
I hope Ronda wins. The women have been floundering in a hot potato pattern ever since she lost the title. I think it would be good for the division and the UFC in general if she wins and dominates again until a true successor comes along - someone who can not only beat Ronda but also defend the title a few times.

I hate how every post UFC is making on Facebook is about Ronda and how awesome she is, but shows no love towards Nunes. I really hope Nunes destroys Dana White's princess and she disappears again for a year.
