Gene Wilder was my childhood. Willy Wonka was made way before I was born, but I watched it like mad when I was little. Probably my favorite movie ever. I loved this guy. RIP Gene Wilder.

I love "Young Frankenstein" more then "Willy Wonka" but "Silver Streak" is my favorite of all his films. Such a great actor and a good person who will be missed more then anyone could ever express.
Broke my heart when you hear that he and Richard Pryor really didn't get along much.
Either way. Rest in Peace and get up there and hug Gilda.

This sucks. Willy Wonka and the Chocolate Factory remains one of my favorite movies ever. I can't even begin to tell you how many times I've seen it as a kid and even now as an adult. I'm sad. 2016 sucks.

2016 can go itself. This. 2016 has terminal cancer and is just murdering mother ers as revenge. And this. I've been done with this year since like February or March, but now it's just being cruel.

Very very sad, Gene was a legend. He had impeccable comedic timing. I like everyone else loved Willy Wonka, but I enjoyed all his movies with Richard Pryor even more. And in those and Young Frankenstein, and Blazing Sales, and wow. R.I.P. Mr Wilder.

Loved his movies with Richard Pryor. Their double act just worked so well, especially in See No Evil, Hear No Evil. Gotta love Stir Crazy too.
I think these deaths are becoming more hard hitting recently because they are our childhood heroes from movie/tv/music during an age where those three things became more mainstream and easily available. And now 20/30 years later they are much older so it's inevitably going to happen more frequently now.

I honestly had no idea who he was, until I found out he was in that Willy Wonka movie.
Sucks that he died though.

That's why it seems like a lot of people are passing, because that's how big the talent pool was when we were young. Same thing will happen with this generation in 30 years. Although I question the talent the current generation has, to even be able to last 30 years.

Luckily my dad got me to watch Stir Crazy and See No Evil, Hear No Evil when I was 6/7 years old. I loved watching those movies. Him and Richard Pryor together was comedy gold. RIP
