I hope no one minds me making a thread for myself. I've been meaning to make a post for ages just never got round to it.
I started collecting comics a few years ago. I was never interested in them as a kid but I went to my first local Comic Con 2/3 years back and they had old comics for 50p each. I found some Detective Comics from the early 90's which I thought was worth 50p for the art on the cover. I got hooked after reading them and went to the next Comic Con and picked up more and have done ever since. Sadly the Detective Comics are no longer 50p but I can still get Robin, Judge Dredd and lots of first issue indy comics.
I picked up a top 100 comics magazine and used that a rough guide to getting graphic novels. Between that and picking up other ones I fancy and anything cheap, I've got a large shelf full but haven't read that many.
For individual comica, I've only started collecting fairly recently. Currently buying Daredevil, Spideman/Deadpool and Power Rangers. And I've just pre-ordered a batch of DC's rebirth comics.
I terms of favourite comics/graphic novels. The Detective Comics from the early 90's are my favourites, the artwork on them are amazing and the stories are equally as good. I've bought a lot of Batman. I really enjoyed Gotham Central series which I think I haven't finished yet. I got this Batman Elsweorld's annual Shadow of the Bat called "The Tyrant" possibly my favourite single comic. I like it when they change up Batman's orgins like in Earth 1 as well. I also got a soft spot for Robin. I like Judge Dredd too since I got into comics soon after the film. I want to get more Spiderman because I'm really enjoying the Spiderman/Deapool series and the only graphic novel I have is with Wolverine.
Anyway, thanks for reading. I do have a full list of my graphic novels but it needs updating but I may post it in the future along with any pick ups. Any suggestions for reading?
