Hi all.
I have played a boatload of NES games over the years, whether with friends, on virtual consoles or emulators/roms, etc. etc.... I grew up in between the Atari and NES generations. Or whatever preceeded Nintendo I suppose that is notable and worth mention. Anywho. Despite this, and always playing it at friends' houses and whatnot, I never had one. My parents would not buy me one and I still don't know why, since being the first-born they kind of spoiled me quite a bit at times- esp way back then when I was really little, or simply a whole lot longer vs. these days where I'm nearly 30.
They finally bought me my first system after I mooched off arcades and my cousin with a Sega forever...a SNES. Which I still own- still works- to this day.
Well, I had a really good week as far as billing and actually COLLECTING (as in people paid up on time and all at once AND at month's end for some reason this month... I'm still in a little shock) funds goes, and after making a huge sale and getting a big chunk of proceeds, I went online window shopping. To which one of the eBay users I follow who sells a ton of cool stuff that I usually use for my amiibo customs, among other things like mini gifts, etc.... He had listed a NES, despite showing age, in 100% working condition- with 6 games, 6 black sleeves (4 official)- 1 game being a gold-plated LOZ even though it's chipping to his own admission, even- one of those zapper guns, a joypad controller, a regular controller... and uh, well here's just a photo!
I own one NES game: Ninja Gaiden (and well, I guess the ones he is sending me). I was curious for recommendations for some titles I can find in the used range from about $20 or under ($25 if really good).
I am not too aware of the entire NES catalog admittedly since I never did "own" the console at any point in life. I'm excited and got that whole lot for $70+15 shipping. It might be here tomorrow...otherwise Mon prolly.
I was gonna browse the used Gamestop section and see what they have, but save for some renown classics like Ducktales, Adventure Island 2, etc.... any cult classics that don't go for a ton of money for hard copies? I'd like to buy a few cheap games while I have the cash to, and gamestop has a lot marked down, too.
Any suggestions are welcomed. I'm excited to own a nes after almost 30 yrs now. ESPECIALLY one with a joypad and all of that neat stuff and a Gold-plated LOZ (I had one but it took water damage... it was more a collector's piece).
Thanks in advance to any helpers!
