Kinda new to this section of wfigs, so I'm not sure if this thread is just for current comics.I've been picking up X-Men '92 , and its reminded me of how much I loved the X-books back when I was buying each month in the mid to late '90s. I used to buy X-Men, Uncanny X-Men, and Wolverine each month. So recently I've started buying a lot of back issues to not only rebuild the collection I had (still had most of my issues but was missing some for some reason) but to expand upon my collection. I'm having a lot of fun tracking these issues down. I've got a comic shop located in Bowling Green about an hour north of me, and another in Madison about an hour south of me. So every couple weeks I'll make a trip to one of them and browse the bargain boxes for these X -Men issues. I've found many of the same issues in the bargain section that are also in the sorted section. As long as its not ripped up, I'll take the cheaper one because that lets me buy more comics. I haven't started reading them yet as I'm trying to get a pretty big run before I start reading them. Just wondering if there are any X-Men fans from this time frame. It's for any and all things comics, regardless of time period mate, that was my plan at least...! I finally found Civil War II issue 5...IMO not worth the wait. I still don't know what to make of it so far. Also continuing with the latest Dillon-pencilled Punisher.

Considering the amount of comics I've read over the years, I've never got around to reading Daredevil Born Again, haha. Probably should get to that, along with the numerous comics I'm gonna pick up at NYCC next weekend.

Not a fan of that artwork. Story seemed weak in parts. Thanks for asking though - what did you reckon?

Re-reading Watchmen at the moment. My AP literature teacher also teaches a seminar with graphic novels so there is a poster of Doctor Manhattan in my classroom just staring at me all class. I just felt the urge to read it again after seeing it every day for the past month, haha.

It's also tying into Civil War 2.

Hey guys. I'm still picking up my weekly comics, just haven't had much time to post. I read comics and love them, but I am starting to develop a love for more modern contemporary graphic novels and I'm in love with the art style of Joelle Jones! I'm getting The Sculptor by Scott McCloud it's said to be very good. Most reviewer want to say so much about it, but they do not want to spoil it. 12 Reasons Why I Love Her is written and told in a similar style to that of 500 days of summer (the movie) is told. The plot is similar as well with all the highs and lows of building a relationship. While I personally liked the story, it may not be a genre that fits within others likes.

Any of you guys going to New York Comic Con this weekend? I'm going for my first time ever and I am super pumped. Anyone got any things to recommend for me to possibly pick up while I'm there?

Congrats mate. As I'm in Australia, I don't think I'll be able to make it... Seriously though, have fun; I'd just say to go with what you know and like. No one can take that away from you. ... ...recently read a gripping graphic novel online called 'Suicide Forest' from IDW. (I'm such a mark for Japan) One of those rare books where the story outshone the artwork by a mile and it didn't phase me. Loved it...now I just gotta find it...
