hey guys, first off HAPPY HOLIDAYS !
and within that same sentiment, thank f* its over haha.
So with the christmas season behind us, and thus the accompanied tradition of emptying ones wallet, i can now start 2016 off with a clean slate, a new job, and some lee way to actually SAVE some wages now.
My Investment Is going to be to get back into my hobby making, and with this, i wish to purchase a 3D printer, its the only new technology im actually ready to get behind, this from the guy who isnt on social media anymore and could care less about having a phone !!
so the only catch is i need help brushing up my CAD skills from college, but mainly, i obviously intend to create varying accessories that we've never gotten or just variations of ones, but if i wanted to create head scans of people we may never get or such, how would i create a persons likeness in cad?
i do recall someone on here was #hyped a while back, there was a site where you send a few view points of your head and they digitally create your scan from 2d pics to a 3d render, then would print or cast them, is this possible in your own home though?
OBVIOUSLY i do not intend to make or sell or bypass jakks matell or rsc or whomever, just creatively add to my EXTENSIVE collection of which i've purchased from these companies anyway
SO yeah, my qualifications in engineering failed to get me a job or apprenticeship, so by bringing my hobby and education together, i hope to acually gain a career out of this, not just print a few figs and save a few bucks, i mean im a british metal head at heart, so its in my DNA to support local artists and thus the toy companies that are providing me these pieces of art to appreciate.
just wondering if anyone would colaberate with me when i save and buy the ol' 3d printer. (look on youtube for a channel called tested, theres a few examples and videos on there,)
thats an example of what im on about, i mean ive spent my 22 year old life being a crafter so im just keeping up with tech for once haha.
