I hate to complain, but after a killer run last year I've been really disappointed by what we've seen lately from Mattel.
That Sting is pretty awful, as everyone has noted. Sid looks goofy, and not in a "psycho" way. I normally don't care about the smiling/serious debate, but I always remember Sid yelling and being angry. Seems like a strange choice ... and either way the headscan doesn't look all that much like him. Reminds me of the Luger figure -- there's just something missing.
Bulldog is all right, but still not great. Best of the lot is probably Sandow, and I'm trying to cut back on modern guys so will probably pass on him anyways.
Between this and the lack of a jacket/shirt/etc. for the WCW Macho Man, not the best run of form here.
(Edit -- Oh, and the APA scans were bizarre and off, too).

Godfather looks really good. I give him an A+
Sting looks like he has a square shaped head, and a painted shirt?! C'mon MDT. C-
Sid has a weird facescan and those knee pads! RIP Our figure's knees. B-
Bulldog looks amazing and is probably the only one i'm picking up, he's just....wow. A++
Damien Mizdow looks alright, nice facescan, nice attire, hate the jacket. But overall he's okay. B+
Ziggler looks nice as a figure, but that rubber shirt is killing me, he does come with an updated IC title which I guess evens it out. Nice facescan, okay attire, horrible kneepads. Weird body parts C
Overall this isn't too bad a set, has some duds in there, but overall it's okay. Just okay.

Sting - I know I shouldn't but I like it!! Would I have preferred a cloth shirt, of course but it's Mattel.
Godfather - Looks, well, Pimpin. Love the smile and accessories. Money $$
Dolph Ziggler - Gonna have to do another arm swap but eh. Huge thighs again. I love the tights and boots!!! Would've killed it with a cloth shirt.
British Bulldog - Absolutely love it!! The scan, the flag, the tights!! Favorite out of the set.
Mizdow - I'm diggin it. Too ripped of a torso tho.
Psycho Sid - I absolutely love as well. I like that they tried to give him the deranged smile. I think a serious scan would've knocked it out the park but it's Mattel, they don't wanna scare the kids ha ha.
E39 to me is a great set. I can't wait to pick it up!!

That might be one of the worst Mattel figures I've ever seen!
Bill, you should be ashamed of yourself. Did a child sculpt that head? Plus for a 56 year old man, Steve Borden appears to have eaten a crate of steroids.

Godfather and Bulldog are fantastic. Everything else is either lacking or in Ziggler's case, completely sucks.

Godfather looks great. Ill grab him on backorders eventually. Just isnt a high want. That Bulldog is FAN-  ING-TASTIC!! I love that figure! Sid, I dont want to say they swung and missed but they hit a foul ball on an 0-3 count and its still in the field of play. I actually like the scan. I would have rather had a very mean looking Sid Vicious/Sid Justice look but since they were going to Sycho Sid, the psychotic laugh look actually looks good. My problem with the figure though is the ripped jacked up torso and the skinny ripped legs. Sid was huge & thick, not huge & ripped. They absolutely should have went with the Hillbilly Body here. Hopefully they'll jack up his skin tone and make him the normal skin tone color & not tanned so I can do some part swaps. Sorry MattelDesignTeam , you almost got perfect 10s on 3 outta 3 figures! |

These are my thought too. Godfather looks great and I may get him eventually. He looks good so I likely will. Bulldog is great. Definite buy. Sid is a definite buy, but the torso and legs are my issue. I see what they were trying to do with the Scan and I am OK with it. But what is that though Orton's legs and Triple H's torso?? It is way too ripped and those ripped skinny legs look horrible. Should've went with Hillbilly Jim's parts. |

Sting is fine with me. I think the hate comes from the painted on shirt, but I bet it looks sick MOC.
I'm interested to see how they package the British Bulldog, because the flag isn't cloth and I'm sure it's wider than the boxes they use now.
I give the set a B+, but I'm happy with them all. The Godfather takes the set, hands down.

If it doesn't fit horizontally (which obviously is what the MOC collectors will be hoping for) they'll probably just put it in there vertically behind the figure. |

Pffft, the giant fig is glorious. Anyway, obviously there are improvements to be made to raw debut sting like giving him an actual neck for a start but its actually ok and its growing on me. Head needs to be taller but I may get it.  Bulldog is a must get, a real beauty. Potentially up there with RSC hbk as one of the best. Godfather went from a pass, based on not being much of a fan, to a get purely because they knocked it out the park, awesome fig. Sid is a real mixed bag, he needs less definition, chest hair, darker eyes and straighter & lower eyebrows. Need to see it in the flesh but at the mo its gone from most anticipated to 50/50. Ziggler and sandow remain easy passes. |
