Any tips on how to get the depth and contrast in the colors like you have? I especially like the trunks with the blue shading. If you could let us in on the secret that would be awesome.

You've outdone your yokozuna figure, which itself if awesome excellent job, i love the hair.
I'd like to see you try an obscure person... something like a debut Kane or Gangrel

Chicken man!
Glad to see you are still around making customs. Just came back to the board recently. Nice to see a familiar face making top notch customs!
Piper and Yoko both are flawless. True professional!
Heard from Zonghui lately?

cheers all tibbs1984: the contrast of colurs only works well if u paint on a surface with recesses and raised areas. you can either use washes, which essentially is "washing" the area with a darker shade of colour diluted with water that will seep into the cracks and recesses of the sculpt, leaving the raised areas a lighter shade. alternatively u can use a method called drybrushing, which kinda works in the opposite direction of washes. take a lighter shade of a colour, dab yr brush in it and wipe the bristles till only a hint of paint is left, and paint over the area. the raised surfaces will be highlighted a lighter shade, leaving the recesses a darker shade. Great Gonzo - Who?: it's always great to see a familar face out there, glad to see yr still around. i actually haven't been in contact with tee for ages, no idea if he's still in the customising scene for all those who asked, i'm working on a few more wrestling customs, and yea, they're mostly old school. what else didja expect?

Wow, way to come in just under the deadline wire with a candidate for Custom of the Year 2007. This is just tremendous. I can't say enough good things about it. The word art is thrown around way too loosely on this board, but this one is a brilliant piece of it.

Incredible, if only you were sculpting Unmatched Fury for Jakks. That Piper is without doubt the best action figure I've ever seen, a glimpse at how things might've been if a company like SOTA or McFarlane had the WWE license, only they still wouldn't look that good. I'd love to see Piper and Yoko alongside some Street Fighter figures. Seeing your figures has inspired me to customise one of my spare CS Hogans to display with my SF figures.

Amazing as usual. Awesome detail. This looks like a RA-Unmatched Fury hybrid.

I love how you have your own distinct style. You could post that custom under an anonymous name and most of the people who were around back then would know that it was a chinese_chicken custom. Much like Baity had his own distinct style, M2K had his own style, and Tinyman had his own style. Customizers like you guys are true artists.
Anyways I love this custom. Everything is so realistic especially the lower half of the body. The kneepads are extremely detailed, the socks look amazing, and the legs were perfectly modded to fit Pipers rather flabby body. I love how the hair has such depth and it has layers and actually looks like late 80's early 90's Piper hair.
I really love this custom. One of my favorites of all time from you. Hope to see more.

for all those who asked, i'm working on a few more wrestling customs, and yea, they're mostly old school. what else didja expect? cool. you probably have solid ideas already, but I would love to see you do more big names like: Razor Ramon/Scott Hall - i'd recommend the newest headscan (outsiders/CSDA3) Hulk Hogan - i'd recommend the FC/snarling headscan, IMO it's the best likeness Diesel/Kevin Nash Sid Vader Ric Flair Shawn Michaels man I could go on all day. but you have such amazing painting skills i'd bet you'd really bring out the likenesses on those guys oh and lookie what i found do you still have all those older customs you made? i have pics of several of them still saved on my documents! I also have pics of your old Hogan, Virgil and Repo Man

Good to see you back, Daniel. You still got "it" man. Piper came out amazing and your photography skills only helped the figure out. AWESOME.
