I didn't get Bret Hart at all at the time. I was so drawn to Shawn Michaels with his flashy gear, move set and entrance. It wasn't until I'd grown up and look at Bret retrospectively that I understand what a wonderful performer he was.
I NEVER got the Bill Goldberg thing. One of the worst ever.
I will never understand the hype behind Christian.
Another one was CM Punk. From his debut in 2006 I was like "THIS is the guy everyone's going mental about?". I enjoyed his 2011-2012 run like everyone else, but after that I lost interest. He fancied himself as on the same level as The Rock and Stone Cold and just wasn't.
Del Rio was another one.
I never got why everyone was so high on Carlito. He was so boring to me.
To this day I'm still confused by everyone saying MVP should have been a world champion.
I know a lot of people are saying it, but what was it Vince saw in Hogan that he didn't have in other guys? What was it about a big balding guy with a horrid mustache that got him so hard?
I don't understand why Greg Valentine is a Hall of Famer.

Meh.
I suppose you could add MVP and Zack Ryder to my list also.

To put a different spin on it, anyone ever been really high on a performer then just completely lost interest?
Usually when someone finds a favorite performer they stay involved in that characters story or matches, but sometimes you just lose that feeling.
For me, Kane is the first to come to mind.
In 2002 I first started really getting into WWF/E, and Kane was somewhat interesting. But when he came back in the summer of 02 he was my favorite on Raw. When he unmasked and had that monster run in 2003 that SHOULD have included a win over Triple H for the World Title, I was hooked on Raw. Always wondering what Kane was going to do next.
I was a fan of his World Title run on Smackdown but I feel it came a little too late.
I regained interest when he returned with the mask but the attire and mask choice didn't seem very"Kane" to me. Nowadays I could not care less what Kane does. I enjoy his performances still but I don't care to miss them. Back then, I had all of his merch WWE shop had available. Now I'm just apathetic.
to me, Kane will go down as one of the most mishandled and underused superstars in history.
Another would be Randy Orton.
I loved his cocky evolution character, loved it even more when he turned face against HHH. Hated how his reign ended so quickly.
2007 when he was the heel Orton but not yet the Viper, I was a huge fan. But once the "Viper" and Legacy stuff started I completely lost interest. He should have went over at WrestleMania XXV, but once again HHH stopped that momentum. In 2011 his title run was enjoyable to me but still felt a little late or unnecessary.
Now I couldn't care less what he's doing.
Triple H is another example.
From a kids perspective in 02, I thought he was one of the coolest superstars on the roster. His entrance, promos, matches all appealed to me. But with the reign of terror between 2002-2005, I completely stopped wanting to see Triple H. In 2009 when he had another run with the title I just felt it was beyond unnecessary and made me turned off to his character. I enjoyed his 2007 return but didn't really feel multiple title reigns were needed.

However, the constant start-stop pushes and turns made me eventually lose interest. Matt Hardy is another one. I always preferred Matt over Jeff. I loved his V1 stuff. I even loved his return feud with Edge after the Lita debacle. Then he got fat, turned into MATTHEW and started eating grapes. I haven't seen any of his work since leaving WWE.

Did you ever see any wrestlers as a kid that were "popular" but you just never cared about them? Im not talking that you hated the because they were bad guys, but guys that other people seem to like that you just dont have any interest in. For me its Kevin Sullivan. I would see him come on tv in the early 90s with that dungon of doom crap and just roll me eyes and not pay attention. And I was young at the time, prob 7 or 8. I never hated him i just diddnt care, he never got a reaction out of me. Another one for me is Chris Benoit. All murdering aside, i just never cared for him. He was boring on the mic and just seemed to have a boring personality overall. Good wrestler but what a downer. Even after he came to wwe I tried to like him but i just couldnt get myself to care about him. For me it's a case of not appreciating wrestlers until I was older. Absolutely hated Ric Flair. Wanted to see him get his butt beat. Never really liked him until I realized the truths about wrestling, and then wished I could have gone back in time to really appreciate what I was watching in the ring. I still cared enough to watch him, but it was to see who would beat him. On topic though: Hulk Hogan. I was a WCW guy. I knew of Hogan but didn't get what he was until I started watching WCW and was wondering why wasn't Hogan there. The first matches I ever saw was Sting v. Flair at the Clash where Sherri turned on Sting, and then a subsequent match where Austin lost to Duggan with Steamboat in the ring. And, for a good year after that, I thought WWF and WCW were one in the same. Then I "realized" they were different teams. Thus, my team allegiance was with WCW. So when I realized Hogan was on the other team, I didn't really care too much for him. He wasn't important to me, and his debut in WCW didn't really make me too happy--especially when he questioned Sting's loyalty to Hulkamania brother. I now see Hogan's place in wrestling history, but when he was a regular performer, I never really a fan of his. Sting was/is my man. Honestly, if I had the chance to meet Hogan or Sting on the same day, I'd take Sting. Same goes if, instead of Sting, it was DDP, Flair, Kevin Owens, or Zack Ryder. I was just never that into Hulk Hogan. Same goes for Ultimate Warrior, sadly. Oh and Undertaker scared me, so I never cared for him until he ditched the Ministry and became the Bad Ass. Now, like Flair, I wish I had removed the fan goggles. There are some others that I will list below TL:DR? 1) Hogan 2) Ultimate Warrior 3) Undertaker 4) Johnny B. Badd 5) John Cena (to a degree) 6) Ziggler (to a degree)

The Rock. Don't get me wrong, he had some great matches & moments and I totally respect what he's done for the business, but I was never a fan of him.

Hogan is a no-selling asshat. Beyond that, while I understand his appeal, I have never and will never be a fan of The Miz. Seeing him get KTFO at Wrestlemania 27 was a pleasure.

Come at me. As a character, he was alright I suppose, and I enjoyed his work as Stunning Steve. His later work as Stone Cold however, was so boring to me. Arrive, stomp, lou thesz press, stomp, stunner, leave. The original five moves of doom Edit: And just to clarify, I completely understand it was due to knee and neck problems. Hogan had knee and back problems and everyone still groaned when he got in the ring.

It also didn't help that he flat out cheated against the Undertaker at Summerslam 98. He's lucky Deadman didn't bash him over the head with that ****ing belt after the match. #calm

Austin is one of those guys I under appreciated as a kid.
EVERYBODY was on the Stone Cold train but me. I rooted against him more often than not.
Looking back though, I really appreciate him and his character. He was so intense, serious and made everything seem important. There was no giggling or laughing off challengers. Plus, wrestling was the hottest thing at the time. I miss those crowds.
Through the years, Austin has become one of my favorites.

The Rock annoys me, most days.
I was very Pro-John Cena during their feud, simply because Rock never really countered any of Cena's points. Just basically say "nuh uhhhhh" and raised his eyebrow.

I don't understand why Greg Valentine is a Hall of Famer. Greg Valentine is in the hof because wwe inducts to many people each year and their running out of people to induct. I almost feel like the stipulation for hof candidacy is just to be past a certain age. It wouldnt surprise me if they put Bad New Brown in there.

For current...
NXT wrestlers/divas - it just seems to me that NXT fans are blinded by things because it happens in NXT. I don't hate NXT, but I don't think it's as great as people say. The comparisons to ECW always made me laugh hard too.
Kevin Owens - again, I don't get it. He is an out of shape wrestler, who can't even wear proper wrestling attire, who has a farmers tan, and doesn't look like he's lifted a set of weights in his entire life. But supposedly he is the best thing ever. I rank him with the likes of The Sandman - where he has a cult following and nobody can understand why.
For the past...
Eddie Guerrero - I never hated him, but never liked him either. I feel he has most of his fan base now because he passed away in his prime. And you are for sure to get Eddie Guerrero matches on WWE DVD releases if they can find away to put them on there.
CM Punk - Again, this guy came off extremely sloppy in the ring, he did a terrible combination of sloppy kicks and hand slaps. To me, I felt like Punk got worse as he went on in wrestling. I have seen his ROH stuff against Joe, Aries and Styles, and that stuff is great. But his WWE run felt really weak and sloppy.
AJ Lee - I don't know why people think she is the greatest diva ever. I guess nobody watched Trish Stratus, Lita, Molly Holly, Victoria, Mickie James and them tear it down from 2000 - 2006. I found AJ Lee to be overrated big time on every level possible.

Not really old school, but since it is on topic, I don't like most of the guys from NXT that have this huge internet following. Now, don't get me wrong, I do agree that they are talented, heck I do enjoy some of them. I like Sami Zayne and I like Solomon Crowe, but I don't think these guys are God's gift to wresting and what bothers me most is that it seems like a lot of guys who are worthy of getting that spotlight in NXT and being developed, get overlooked and pushed to the side for the next batch of indy guys. I mean, while some guys are getting chances like Tyler Breeze and Baron Corbin, there are plenty that get swept under the rug for Apollo Crews or Finn Balor. And I personally don't like it.

As a kid? No I don't remember not liking someone who was popular whether they are faces or heels. But I will say from the 90's up until now I never cared for... Jeff (or Matt) Hardy Raven The Rock (I was never a fan while he was wrestling) Brock Lesnar (Original run) DDP
Modern guys - Zach Ryder Dolph Ziggler (I flip flop on him) Rusev (people on these boards love him, but he bores the hell out of me) Dean Ambrose (I hate his move set) Adam Rose (Never impressed me)
