I don't want it to come off like I can't take criticism, it's fine if you don't like my head. If you had left it at your critique of each figure, that would be fine, but you went ahead and said his figure was better overall. You really expect me to believe that the only person who feels that way just happens to be his friend? I know customs are very subjective, but give me a break. I don't see how I'm supposed to take your votes seriously anymore, it's like asking an American Idol contestant's mom who she thinks should win American Idol.

You said his head is better than mine and the rest was "too close to call." Which parts were too close? The gloves? The decals that literally hang off his short? The overall cleanliness of the skintone? The amazingly smooth, tube-shaped abs? Show me one part of the body that is even a tie.

I wouldn't have called you out on this, but I don't like your whole attitude and I've been waiting for you to set me off. If you were afraid to vote against your friend, you should have just not voted. This way makes you look like a biased voter who looks at the name and not the customs. If this match was a toss-up and people were voting both ways, then fine. I could have brushed it off as you leaning towards your buddy in a coin toss, but this was not the case.

I don't care if I come off as an arrogant jerk because of this. If it seems like I am conceited, too bad.


EDIT: HR2X was also kind enough to PM me with his critique of my figure. Thank you so much for telling me what is wrong with my figure, but there's nothing you can say to make it seem like it's as bad as yours. I love when the loser of a match has to make sure to mention the bad things about the winner's figure. Like it's going to change anyone's mind.

Beyondo, I didn't send you the "critique" to make my custom seem any better than yours, I said it as a customizer to another customizer. If you can't take criticism then how do you expect to improve? (granted you're already very good) If I really wanted to try and change anyone's mind, I would have posted it on the boards, I wouldn't have PM'ed you with it. Honestly, I don't give a if you guys like me or hate me.. it really doesn't bother me either way.

You know, the Beyondo we know is the most humble and quiet minded guy on this forum. So I guess I really pissed you off. So, am I not allowed to vote the way I see it? Maybe I just have a different artistic perspective than most, who knows? Just like your Taka recently, several people hated the head. I liked it and I saw it. But sometimes you look at a head and you just don't see it. It happens. I still don't see it in your Tito. Even though the unmodded Lashley still has black features, I still felt that overall it carried more features than the Ortiz. The 5 o'clock shadow could have been better on Serra, and I agree it did look like dirt on the face from certain angles. But at some angles I could see a clear difference in the shadowing and a bit of face coloring. I could see what he was trying to do, althought I admit it wasn't pulled off that well.

So what if HR2X used decals. Famous J uses decals and he's right at the same level as you Beyondo. I thought HR2X did a good job on the decals. I did see some mention of the thumb painting on the glove looking odd and a teeny bit of skintone on the shorts, and now that I look at it, I do see those, but I feel they are minor. You painted your Tito near flawless, and I really liked the solid sculpt on the shorts as well as the hand painted logos.

Like Sandman said in his review, I feel that both of you are much better than what was exhibited in this match. I've never seen a custom from you until now that didn't just make me go WOW! I felt very disappointed that neither of you brought your A game. I've seen tremendous paint jobs from both of you. I've seen tremendous sculpting jobs from both of you. Neither figure was perfect and it was a big let down on both sides. Afterall, this was for the Heavyweight title. I knew that everybody would vote for you, and you did deserve it Beyondo. However the let down on the head, the lack of back designs, the inaccuracy of the tattoos(though you made them look like real tats), and the lack of torso modding killed the figure for me. I held high expectations for you and you fell short in my book.

I will say this too, in all honesty, your work is my favorite on the board right now, very close behind you is Famous J in my book. Both of you are top notch and had this Tito gone against his recent Liddell, I feel you would have lost. I guess I held you to a higher expectation than I helt HR2X, my vote went to HR2X, that is said and done and nothing will change that because I stand behind my vote.

Whats wrong with some ego trips? Thats how you make competitions more fierce and it brings people up to their A game. When people are motivated to kick ass, they show off their best work.

Yeah, and I think some of the nasty posturing might potentially drive people away. It's been awfully quiet around here, except for the same "back and forths." People can and obviously will say what they want, and I appreciate some promo-driven tension, but it seems like the whole tone of the comp board has shifted . . . Whatever, we're all big boys (or girls), I'm sure everyone can handle it.

personally, i think that beyondo's got every right to be ticked off, i mean c'mon.. its unanimous until this one guy said a "too close to call"..

Im not the best customizer but now being on the active roster, i think my vote counts and my opinion as well.

matt serra's head could have been sanded better, that's what happens when you use exacto knife. i did that on my big show and batista. I kinda lazied out on dremeling/sanding. the inner plastic rellay needs to be sanded for the paint to stick.

other than keeping kurt angle's eyes, and the lack of articulation on the shorts, i must say that beyondo's tito ortiz is the best version ive seen so far.
