With one week remaining until the first round of the tournament things have been heating up. Competitors have been cutting promos left and right, with some fighting words crossing the line of kayfabe into legitimate heat between some customizers. While we have an amazing event coming in February with the likes of Goreinator vs. FamousJ, Beyondo vs. Chinese Chicken, and Gatecitysinner vs. Importracer headlining the event, the focus today is the more immediate first round of the Customania tournament and the much-publicized Newb match.

Customania Tournament: First Round

Texacide vs. JPD
In this preliminary bout, we will see the competition debut of Texacide, a member who has only been on the board for a month. While members of the newb match might complain that a "newb" is in the tourney, Texacide has posted an astonishing 21 figures in his time on the board. Still, if he is to move on, he will have to pay attention to the comments on his figures and continue to improve. His opponent, JPD, is no stranger to the board, but has been lightly dormant lately. He participated in tournaments last year, and is looking to make a strong comeback at the biggest show of the year.

Megawarlord vs. TCKDEEN
This match has a great amount of steam behind it due to the numerous, yet bizarre promos by megawarlord deeming Deen "Canadian Bacon Deen," along with picking fights with everyone and anyone from Gatecitysinner to 4LK to DR. Angus, almost getting banned in the process. In the mean time, Deen has kept his cool. One half of our tag team champs, Deen knows what it's like to win, but also had his own taste at loss, losing the Cruiserweight title match at Customania. Will Deen's cool head prevail so that he can win the title shot and go for revenge against Titantrap (if still champ) or set his sights higher? Can Megawarlord make it without being banned?

Customkenny vs. 4LK
This matchup between tag team partners begs a lot of questions. First, will they remain a team after all is said and done, or will the winner look for a "better" partner? Do they have any allegiance to the Gold Horsemen? If one wins the title shot, will he contact the other for another shot at the tag gold, or will he try for individual glory? And finally, with the loaded three way dance on their side of the bracket, can the winner of this match step it up enough to beat one of those three? Both of these competitors need a competition win, and both have vowed to improve vastly upon their previous entries.

Bartman vs. JPilko vs. Oozing Machismo
This three way dance is possibly the most exciting and confusing match on the card. Originally Bartman vs. JPilko, changed to Bartman vs. OozingMachismo, then finally changed to a three way dance between the three, many have been wondering what kind of irresponsible booking is to blame for the constant changes. After a thorough investigation, it has been determined that JPilko was booked to the card without alerting him to that fact. When Pilko did not respond, former Customania winner, Oozing Machismo, stepped up to the plate. However, Pilko became aware of his place in the tournament and didn't want to let it go, so the three way was born. The stipulation has been kept under wraps by the competitors, but one thing is for sure, this is the match to watch, as none of these competitors will settle for being out in the first round, yet two of them will be. JPilko may be at the biggest disadvantage in his first competition ever, but his experience customizing will help him through. Bartman is motivated by his desire for the Intercontinental Title, which he let slip away to Gatecitysinner, and has been itching for a rematch since. Can OozingMachismo take the first step to making himself two-time Customania winner after being all but nonexistent on the board for nearly a year?


Newb Match

agvito vs. Dr. Angus vs. nydream989 vs. tibbs1984 vs. shooter
Since this is a newb match, we will not be seeing any of the competitors' previous work, in the spirit of a clean slate. A clean slate and a fresh start is exactly what two of our competitors are going for: Angus' troubles are well documented, but he is confident -- perhaps overconfident -- that his experience will take him through the newb match with ease. Shooter, formerly jpecard, hasn't posted a custom perhaps since last Customania. Agvito has been silent since singing up, so there is question of whether he will have an entry. nydream989 has been enlisting help from veterans, while tibbs1984 has been lying low. This is truly anyone's match.

Thanks for the comments, guys. Gate, the scars on Inigo are acually from when he was a kid. He tells the Dread Pirate Roberts the story of how his dad was killed by the Six Fingered Man, whom he then challenged to a duel when he was only a little kid. The Six Fingered Man didn't fight him, but he slashed him across the face and left him with the scars.
OT, I was pretty close to playing Inigo in a stage production of The Princess Bride, but everything fell through pretty quickly. Man, was I disappointed.
Round 1 figure is coming along nicely. Red paint sucks.

Oh yeah..........that's why Indigo slashed the six fingered man across his face at the end. As many times as I've seen that you'd think I'd remember it a bit better.

Testors red paint does work well for blood. It goes on nice and smooth too. Red paint does go on right Angus, if you paint many coats.

What are you talking about? Apple Barrel works just as well as Folk Art and Delta Ceramcoat paint when thinned.

Over the past few months, gatecitysinner has been possibly the busiest and most consistent customizer on the board. The hard work eventually earned him an IC title shot at Hardcore Holiday, which he won. Now gatecitysinner's reign as Intercontinental Champion is being threatened by importacer. The two will face off at Customania II for gate's first defense.
